When using such a device, the rollers of the lifting chain interact with the surface of the pipe, which can possibly cause additional stresses in the gas pipeline. At the first stage of studying this problem, a model of a typical gas pipeline overhead crossing for the Carpathian region was built and the maximum operating force that should be developed by the mobile lift during repair operations was determined. At the second stage, a finite-element model of the interaction of the mobile lift chain with the main gas pipeline pipe was built. The additional equivalent stresses arising from the contact of the rollers of the lifting chain with the pipe surface were estimated. Recommendations are given to ensure the safe operation of the gas pipeline when using a mobile lift for local lifting of the pipe above the support of above-ground segments of gas pipelines.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"79 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140704885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current established conventional strain life models do not consider dependence for fatigue life of low or high amplitudes, on which with occur first in the load history. Finite element analysis is carried out to ensure the strain signals are captured at the most critical region during road test at various conditions. Fatigue life of 2.74 × 104 to 6.07 × 105 cycle/block with mean cycle to failure of 4.32 × 106 to 7.00 × 106 cycle/block is predicted based on the cycle sequence effect using cycle-counting method. The newly modelled running-reliability technique is formulated to extract the features of high amplitude excitation obtained from the strain signals for characterising the fatigue reliability features under load sequence effect. Hence, the reliability-hazard relationship for fatigue reliability characterisation of strain-based approach in time-domain using running-reliability technique.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"225 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140704572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parameter estimates are obtained using both Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood approaches, with Bayesian estimates acquired through Lindley's approximation method using three distinct balanced loss functions. These encompass both symmetric and asymmetric balanced loss functions, specifically the balanced squared error (BSE) loss function, the balanced linear exponential (BLINEX) loss function, and the balanced general entropy (BGE) loss function. We conduct a simulation study to compare the effectiveness of various estimators, and a real-world data analysis is presented to illustrate practical implementation. Ultimately, our findings indicate that Bayesian parameter estimates consistently outperform their Maximum Likelihood counterparts across all methods.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"187 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140706563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a new burn-in model for heterogeneous items with non-renewing two-dimensional warranty. All failures within burn-in and warranty are assumed to be repaired through the minimal repair. Then we screen the items according to the failure information of the items during burn-in. We establish a cost-based model to optimize the mean total cost of each item put into the market. We demonstrate that the optimal burn-in time or usage rate should reach its upper bound under some conditions. In practice, the reliability and mean total cost of an item may be random due to the uncertainty of parameters in the model. Therefore, we also propose a Bayesian method to calculate the mean total cost and optimal burn-in policy of an item, which fully considers the uncertainty of parameters in the model. An example is also given to demonstrate the proposed burn-in model and Bayesian method.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"26 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140705398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the feature learning method of lithium-ion batteries was developed by synthesizing manual extraction and one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1DCNN) extraction. Then, a fused method was proposed to estimate the historical available capacity through exploring the spatial and temporal relationship of features, and the long short-term memory (LSTM) network model was adopted for predicting the RUL of lithium-ion battery. The proposed method was verified through the comparison of different methods, and the results show that it can realize highly precise and stable capacity estimation and RUL prediction under working conditions.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"217 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140740155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such fuel cells are characterized by high efficiency and fast response times, making them a promising solution for sustainable energy production. Fuel cells operate under both static and dynamic conditions. Such varying operating conditions result in achieving different efficiency of fuel cell systems. This study attempts an experimental and modeled efficiency evaluation of a 1.2 kW open-cathode air-cooled fuel cell stack under static and dynamic conditions. A Sankey energy balance and an analysis of the balance components were determined for the fuel cell stack operating in these two operating states. Simultaneous modeling of the fuel cell under both static and dynamic conditions was carried out. The efficiency values of the fuel cell stack were found to be slightly higher under static conditions than under dynamic conditions. Modeling fuel cells in static and dynamic conditions results in slightly different parameters (better conformance was obtained for static models).","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"29 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140087658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most commonly occurring defects in a worm gear box are scratches that develop in the worm gear and in bearings. Early defect categorization is required to prevent a sudden breakdown that would decrease production. The defect is depicted in different cases, which include defects in the gear tooth and the outer and inner races of the bearing. In another case, the defect is considered in the gear tooth as well as the bearing. The severity is designated using the ANN. The experiments were performed under these conditions with a good worm gearbox to capture vibration response signatures. Using these values as an input to the ANN, the model is trained. Experimental results show that vibration amplitude increases with fault progression in the worm gearbox, and the trained ANN model effectively categorizes worm gearbox faults with an accuracy of 97.12%.","PeriodicalId":508934,"journal":{"name":"Eksploatacja i Niezawodność – Maintenance and Reliability","volume":"16 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140084018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
