At the same time, the dangers to human health that eggs can carry are also taken into account. Material/Methods: The literature used is based on databases PubMed, Embase and as well as data from own studies. Review Results: In the present review, we provide data on the importance of the composition of eggs in human nutrition are presented and the risk of their use is evaluated. Conclusions: The high biological and nutritional value of eggs are grounds for their use in the daily life of healthy people, without additional restrictions of cardiovascular diseases. There is a risk of food poisoning, which can be limited to acceptable levels by following good hygiene practices.","PeriodicalId":508168,"journal":{"name":"Journal of IMAB - Annual Proceeding (Scientific Papers)","volume":"66 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139526855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most cases are accidentally diagnosed or constated postmortem. Usually, this type of pathology is asymptomatic and might go undetected for a long time before the aneurism erupts. Patients with larger coronary aneurysms often complain of from chest pain, shortness of breath, and arrhythmia. Another extremely rare cardiovascular pathology is the aneurysm of the subclavian artery, which has a reported rate of 0.13%. Smaller subclavian aneurysms have no clinical manifestation, whereas larger ones cause murmur, pulsation phenomenons, neuropathic pain and ischemia of the upper limb due to compression of the brachial plexus and major vessels. Herein, we report a rare case of a very large aneurisms involving all three coronary sinuses and the whole aortic root in combination with a bilateral giant subclavian aneurism. These findings were made during a routine cardiological examination and further hospitalizations of a 54-year-old woman with chest pain and high blood pressure complaints with known ankylosing spondylitis. Despite their rarity, aneurysms of the sinuses of Valsalva and subclavian arteries are of utmost clinical significance due to the life-threatening complications which might arise from their rupture. Furthermore, such aneurysms pose significant technical difficulties during angiographic procedures. Therefore, detailed knowledge of such pathologies is essential for correctly diagnosing and treating such patients.","PeriodicalId":508168,"journal":{"name":"Journal of IMAB - Annual Proceeding (Scientific Papers)","volume":"110 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139615470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of higher education staff. Materials and methods: The survey subjects were 165 university teachers of the Medical University in Varna. The following tools were used: a questionnaire to explore some aspects of the respondent's quality of life before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, HADS and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Descriptive statistical methods, a t-test, correlation analysis, χ2 test and a multiple linear regression model were applied. SPSS version v.24.0 was used to process the survey data. The survey took place between October and December 2022. Results: The mean value on the anxiety scale was 5.61, SD = 4.027 and 3.62, SD = 3.39 on the depression scale. The mean score on the emotional exhaustion scale (ЕЕ) was 27.67. The mean in the depersonalization scale was 9.10, SD = 5.494. The personal accomplishment mean value was 44.78, SD = 8.006. The results from HADS depression and HADS anxiety showed a statistical significance for predicting the scores on the EE scale (β = 1.158, p = 0.0001 and β = 0.573, p = 0.021). The levels of stress before and during the pandemic had a statistically significant weak correlation with the EE scale. Conclusions: activities for general and selective prevention of occupational stress and burnout, based on stress-coping strategies, can be introduced in higher education.","PeriodicalId":508168,"journal":{"name":"Journal of IMAB - Annual Proceeding (Scientific Papers)","volume":"51 38","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139533176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The routine diagnosis of enterobiasis consists of a microscopic examination of perianal imprints on a transparent scotch tape for the presence of parasitic eggs. However, this method has low sensitivity when the number of eggs is small. The development of highly sensitive and specific methods, such as PCR, will increase the possibilities of detecting the parasite and will enable its genetic characterization. Material/Methods. The study was conducted from May 2022 to September 2022 and comprised 24 patients infected with Enterobius vermicularis. DNA was extracted from parasite eggs/adult worms using PureLink Genomic DNA Mini Kit (INVITROGEN), according to the manufacturer's instructions. Nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (cox1) gene was applied with two sets of primers. Results. The developed and described method for genetic determination of Enterobius vermicularis in samples from infected individuals is suitable and applicable to improve the diagnosis of the disease, as well as for further phylogenetic research of the parasite, which is of great importance for its successful treatment and control. Conclusions. Regardless of existing morphological diagnostic methods, genotyping studies concerning Enterobius vermicularis need to be deepened. Molecular-biological analyses increase diagnostic sensitivity, provide valuable knowledge about the geographic distribution and diversity of helminths, and allow the monitoring of therapy.","PeriodicalId":508168,"journal":{"name":"Journal of IMAB - Annual Proceeding (Scientific Papers)","volume":"29 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139443269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
