Employee welfare practices, such as employee financial support, must be put in place to improve employee performance, whether in public or private organizations. The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between employee financial support and employee performance, as well as the moderating effect of the top management commitment in non-governmental organizations in Nairobi County, Kenya. The study used a cross-sectional survey research design. The target population was all the 14,323 employees in NGOs in Nairobi County, Kenya. The sample population was 391 who were stratified as top managers, middle-level managers, and Lower level managers. The sample was selected through the use of purposive, stratified, and simple random sampling procedures. While interviews and questionnaires were used as primary data sources, secondary data was obtained from reviewed journals, books, and articles. The study made use of relevant theories on the subject, including Human Relations Theory, Herzberg's two-factor theory, and Abraham Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of needs. To determine the validity and reliability of the tools, a pilot study was conducted. Version 25 of the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences software was used for data analysis. Frequencies, means, correlations, and multiple linear regression were employed in the analysis, along with inferential and descriptive statistics as diagnostic tests for the tools. Pie charts, graphs, and tables were used to present the study's findings. The research found that there exists a positive and significant relationship between employee financial support and employee performance when moderated by the top management commitment in non-governmental organizations in Nairobi County, Kenya. The research determined that, due to its importance in boosting morale and overall employee performance, the NGOs’ top management should put employee financial support policies in place, factor the financial support in their budget and plans, and enhance communication with the employees. The study recommended further research in other counties using similar variables.","PeriodicalId":505851,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Humanities & Social Studies","volume":"26 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139800292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are characterised by the fact that they transcend the borders of states. This led to the direction of the international community to cooperate to confront cybercrimes, as they have a great impact on the national security of states. Therefore, states and international organisations have sought to take joint measures to protect individuals, societies and companies from cybercrimes by concluding international and regional agreements. The most important of these agreements is the Budapest Convention on Combating Cybercrime, the latest of which is the Paris Call for Confidence and Security in Cyberspace. The increase in the use of the internet results in an increase in exposure to the risk of cybercrime. Moreover, the increasing involvement of individuals and organised criminal groups with the internet can harm states, individuals and companies. This invites regional and international organisations to play an important role in concluding international agreements that consolidate international efforts in cybersecurity. However, although there are important international steps in combating cybercrimes, this effort faces several challenges. In addition, the implementation of international agreements approved by states in combating cybercrime is still problematic. Cybercrime is a global challenge, and any effective response requires coordination between the public and private sectors, including law enforcement agencies across many international jurisdictions. This paper discusses the role of international efforts in combating cybercrime in terms of international legal instruments and the role of international organisations in this context. The paper also presents the most important challenges facing the enforcement of these efforts to achieve international co-operation in confronting this type of emerging crime. The paper uses descriptive and interpretive approaches with analytical methods. It concludes with several recommendations for ways to improve international efforts in combating cybercrimes, including the establishment of an international system for responsibility sharing among states to combat cybercrimes.","PeriodicalId":505851,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Humanities & Social Studies","volume":"122 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139799879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The crisis in Cameroon's South-West and North-West regions has aggravated the situation. These institutions' management has implemented stress management techniques to address this issue and improve employee performance. The primary goal of this research was to investigate the effect of these techniques on employee performance in a sample of microfinance institutions in Buea, Cameroon. Stress management training, flextime arrangements, psychological support, relaxation, and counseling were all considered stress management techniques. The descriptive survey research design was used, and data were collected through questionnaires from 220 employees of 30 microfinance institutions in Buea. Purposive sampling was used in this study. The data were analyzed with the Ordinary Least Squares regression model. The study's findings revealed that stress management training, flextime arrangements, and counseling had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Psychological support and relaxation, on the other hand, had little or no impact. Based on these findings, it is suggested that management in these institutions prioritize stress management training, flextime arrangements, and counseling as effective stress-reduction and performance-improvement strategies. Other techniques can be enhanced and developed further.","PeriodicalId":505851,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Humanities & Social Studies","volume":"53 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140492914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Descriptive statistics, OLS regression, unit root test, and appropriate length criteria were used to ensure the reliability and validity of the model. The model was estimated using ARDL. The unit root test (ADF) shows that GDP, debt growth (DEG) and export debt ratio (EXR) are stationary at level I(o) while domestic debt (DOD), export (EXP), external debt (EXD), debt overhang (DO) are stationary at first difference I(1). The ECM shows that the short-run disequilibrium is corrected at a speed of 75.7% and that the economy will fully adjust to its long-run equilibrium after 2 years. The ARDL of the estimated parameters that the explanatory variables explained about 76% variation in the dependent variable and the whole model was found to be statistically significant (P = 0.000). \u0000The result indicated that external debt and debt overhang have a negative effect on sustainable development in Nigeria. However, they are constantly threatened by failure and the vast majority do not grow into large corporations. As a result, entrepreneurs are constantly challenged to use assets of skills to succeed in their entrepreneurs' ventures. The research sought to examine the effect of Risk-Taking, Leadership, Innovation and Networking on the growth of micro and Small Enterprises in Nairobi City County. Profit maximization theory, Schumpeter Innovation theory of profit, and Social networking theory served as the foundation for the study. The study employed a descriptive research design on a population of 1552 micro and small enterprises in Nairobi City County, with 318 respondents serving as the sample. Closed-ended, standardized questionnaires were used to collect the data, and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data collected. The results showed that entrepreneurial competencies (risk-taking, leadership, innovation and networking) of the MSEs/managers (entrepreneurs) have a significant and positive influence on the growth of MSEs in Nairobi City County, thus improving their probabilities of growth. The research thus recommends the MSEs, through their strategic management, to embrace the four entrepreneurial competencies (risk-taking, leadership, innovation and networking) to enhance their growth and gain a competitive edge.","PeriodicalId":505851,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Humanities & Social Studies","volume":"67 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140513244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a great job to evaluate the contribution of psychological support that mainly helps these students attain a good level of emotional and social interaction and spiritual and mental stability with their families and the community at large as a tool for risky behavior management. The purpose of the study is to assess how psychological support affects managing risky behavior and mental health in university students. The study emphasizes the need to address elements that have an impact on students' mental health, including peer pressure, a demanding workload, drug misuse, and relationship management. Students are given psychological assistance in controlling risky behavior through the application of the theoretical frameworks of Choice Theory, Behavior Theory, and Cognitive Behavior Theory. The study technique includes a census of 100 people: 97 students from cohort 2019B, a career and alumni affairs coordinator, a school counsellor, and an academic advisor. To classify results, data analysis uses coding and tabulation. The study findings dispel the misconception that college students are mature people who do not need help and show that all of them need psychological treatment. According to the report, institutions should provide young people's mental health care a high priority while they are still developing into adolescents. With a correlation value of 0.285, the study found that obtaining mental help and preserving mental stability had notable beneficial associations. Additionally, there was a positive association between seeking out counselling services and using mental assistance to manage activities, with correlation values of 0.500 (p 0.01) and 0.001 (p 0.001, respectively). With a correlation value of 0.625 (p 0.001), a strong positive relationship, social interactions and emotional support were shown to be related.","PeriodicalId":505851,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Humanities & Social Studies","volume":"69 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140513400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
