Fracture failure accident is mainly caused by structural deterioration, including damage deterioration of concrete structure under stress overload state and deterioration of concrete material itself. Because the tensile strength of the concrete structure is much less than the compressive strength, it often shows cracking and deterioration. This paper first analyzes the deterioration process of concrete electric poles, and then constructs a damaged model of concrete electric poles according to the finite element method. It is found that the tensile strength of concrete electric poles is maximum at 2.4m, and the compression is maximum at 2-6m. Finally, the main factors leading to the failure and deterioration of concrete electric poles are studied based on the finite element extended method. The shallower the crack depth and the higher the concrete strength, the stronger the fracture resistance and bearing capacity of concrete poles. In addition, the annular crack at the height of 2.4m is the most likely to spread.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"34 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141341281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In response to the limitations of traditional convolutional neural networks in diagnosing pumping unit working conditions, a lightweight convolutional neural network is proposed. This network addresses the challenges of shallow networks, which cannot effectively extract indicator diagram features, and deep networks, which suffer from excessive parameterization and high redundancy. Firstly, the combination of depthwise separable convolution and dilated convolution efficiently extracts the contour features of the indicator diagram while reducing the model’s parameter count. Additionally, the Attention Embedded Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling and the coordinate attention mechanism are incorporated to further capture the shape and position information of indicator diagram lines. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed lightweight network has 1.26 M parameters and storage size of 4.82 M. Compared to ResNet-50, VGG-16, and MobileNet-V2, its parameter count and storage size are approximately 1/18, 1/11, and 1/2, respectively, making it easily deployable on hardware-limited diagnostic platforms. Moreover, with an average diagnostic accuracy of 98.17%, surpassing existing networks, it enables more effective diagnosis of pumping unit working conditions, thereby enhancing the reliability and accuracy of pumping unit operational monitoring.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"34 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141340519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However dual-staged actuators serve the purpose, but in terms of space occupied, they are not efficient due to the reason that two separate actuators are utilized to obtain fine motion and coarse motion i.e. they have two separate drive systems. Hence a dual-resolution actuator that has a coarse motion segment and a fine motion segment in itself that runs through a common drive system was designed. A coupling mechanism is employed to engage and disengage with the coarse motion of the actuator, enabling the use of coarse motion only when required. Compared to a dual-staged actuator, the control algorithm structure for a dual-resolution actuator is much more complex due to the presence of a coupling mechanism. An intelligent algorithm focused on increasing the run time efficiency was developed and tested over the realized actuator. This paper describes the techniques adopted and the sequence of conditions used to enable the actuator to reach the target in the shortest time and minimum possible steps.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"22 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141347823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our research aims to address critical challenges in SRAM design by integrating transmission gates and power gated transistors. Through extensive simulations using the Cadence Virtuoso tool, we optimize the SRAM cell's read and write paths, resulting in substantial improvements in both functionalities. Additionally, our study unveils temperature-dependent variations in the read current and write margin, emphasizing the influence of temperature on SRAM performance. Compared to conventional FinFET SRAM circuits of equivalent bit-cell area and read latency, our innovative design showcases remarkable improvements across various parameters. Specifically, we achieve a commendable increase of 6.16% in the write static noise margin (WSNM) and 5.86% in the hold static noise margin (HSNM). Moreover, our findings reveal a substantial boost in read stability, increasing from 14.75% to 18.35%. These advancements underscore the promising potential of our approach in paving the way for future innovations in high-performance memory architectures. By leveraging state-of-the-art technology and meticulous optimization techniques, our research sets a new standard for SRAM design, offering enhanced performance, reliability, and efficiency in memory systems.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"69 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141348079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The drawback of CIGS lies in its incorporation of indium (In) and gallium (Ga), both are scarce and expensive materials. Optimizing absorber thickness offers a means to diminish the usage of these materials in the CIGS cells. Integrating a heavily doped layer between the absorber layer and the back surface layer, known as BSF layer, is a successful strategy for minimizing the thickness of the absorber layer. The suggested configuration utilizes µc-Si:H and SnS as the BSF layer. The buffer layer in this configuration employs less harmful InP instead of the typically utilized CdS layer, which contains highly toxic cadmium. All the simulation work is performed using SCAP-1D simulation tool. The utilization of µc Si:H and SnS BSF layers yields optimized efficiencies of 31.51% and 31.01%, respectively. This simulation work demonstrates that use of a proper BSF layer is very effective not only in performance enhancement but also in reducing absorber material thickness.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"6 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141353599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their properties and complexes have been studied for almost three decades. Although these sensitizers show better performances, their high cost makes these third-generation solar devices less economical. Organic dyes have recently been explored as an alternative to Ru-based dyes due to their easy and low-cost synthesis. A comparative performance evaluation of Ru complexes and dicyanoisophorone and rhodanine organic dyes in ZnO-based DSSCs is here reported. All the Ru complexes showed better performance in comparison to organic dyes except R-4. Among the Ru sensitizers, R-3 exhibited the highest efficiency of 1.21% followed by R-2, which is attributed to the presence of several anchoring groups such as carboxyl, nitro and amine. However, the presence of more nitrogen-based groups has drastically reduced the performance as observed for R-4, which is the least performing dye among the Ru-based ones. On the contrary, organic sensitizers S-06 and P-4 revealed to be less efficient with respect to R-3 owing to the presence of only one anchoring group and weak photoanode/dye interaction.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"75 22","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141353069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the original one-dimensional vibration signals collected are transformed by a two-dimensional wavelet transform to convert the time-frequency image dataset. Second, the drift detection of the data across operating conditions is carried out using Random Forest (RF), and the 3σ criterion as well as the drift detection judgment criteria are set. Next, the source domain model based on Googlenet is used to extract features from the target domain data, and the Whale Optimization Algorithm to Improve Local Preserving Projection Algorithm (WOA-LPP) algorithm is combined to construct a brand-new projection space to align the features of the source and target domains. Then, the source and target domain features are reconstructed by combining the LPP optimal projection matrix to construct a fully connected network trained by the source domain features. Finally, probabilistic label-based decision fusion is proposed to integrate multiple classifiers to reduce the effects of model training randomness and strong noise interference. Validated by the publicly available Western Reserve University bearing data, the method proposed in this paper has good detection accuracy as well as robustness across operating conditions, which can effectively improve the defects of shifting data distribution and degradation of model accuracy under variable speed.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"113 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141352113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The voltage and current, and consequently the maximum available power of SPV panels vary based on environmental conditions. To operate SPV system at maximum power point under different weather conditions, a cascaded (PI-PD) controller with PSO gain scheduling is suggested in this paper. Also, the FOPI control is applied to an accurate dynamic model of the buck converter to function as a charge controller. For tuning the FOPI controller parameters, a stochastic inertia weight GWO algorithm is employed which maintains an appropriate balance between detection and hunting strategies, and gives the fittest wolf position during iterations. The proposed algorithm is compared with the original GWO algorithm to show its superiority. The accuracy of the proposed cascaded controller used in the SPV system to find MPP ranges from 96.05% to 98.87%. The goal of this study is to operate the SPV panel at maximum power point under variable atmospheric conditions to increase efficiency at a lower cost. It also provides appropriate current and voltage for faster battery charging, thereby increasing the life span of the battery. The system is implemented and analyzed in MATLAB/Simulink, and results are validated.","PeriodicalId":505725,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Research Express","volume":"5 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141356898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, the study of fastener detection in specific environments is essential. To address these issues, the TSR-Net target detection model is introduced, which employs an efficient vision transformer as a backbone to increase the speed of feature extraction. The global image perception of the network is enhanced by integrating translation convolutions and inverted residual blocks within the neck network. A detection head with a self-supervised equivariant attention mechanism is designed to deal with the occlusion challenges of small fastener targets.
