In this new reality, quality is critical for success. The main purpose of this study was to assess guest satisfaction with service quality in selected 2-star hotels in Takoradi. The objectives of the study were to find out whether guests are satisfied with services provided in the hotels, ascertain the main dimensions of service quality that lead to guest satisfaction and evaluate measures that can be put in place to help implement quality service in hotels. This study followed a non-experimental research approach and specifically used a descriptive survey. The targeted populations for this study were employees, guests and managers of nine 2-star hotels in Takoradi with a sample size of ninety (90). It consisted of ten (10) respondents from each hotel, thus, four (4) operational staff (one from housekeeping, front office, restaurant and kitchen department), five (5) guests and a manager (1) from each of the selected hotels. \u0000Convenience and purposive sampling techniques were used for the study to select respondents and questionnaires were used to collect data from respondents. The data obtained was analyzed and presented using descriptive statistics namely frequencies, percentages, and charts with the aid of Microsoft Excel 2021. The study found out that though some aspect of service quality needs a step up, customers are satisfied with the services provided in the hotels. The study concluded that more customers become more satisfied with what they see or touch during the service.","PeriodicalId":505692,"journal":{"name":"Asian Research Journal of Arts & Social Sciences","volume":"47 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140699616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this field currently lacks a comprehensive and systematic analysis. This study adopts a bibliometric approach, using raw data from Scopus to review research on English textbooks from 1979 to 2022. Overall, research in this field has shown a steady upward trend, with a significant acceleration in growth over the past five years. The results indicate that scholars from Asia, especially East Asia, have made the most significant contributions to this field. Most studies typically utilize methods such as corpus approach and critical discourse analysis to explore themes such as ideology, gender, culture, and language teaching in English textbooks, thereby making this research field a pivotal lens for comprehending global language education and societal dynamics, fostering mutual understanding and communication across diverse regions worldwide. Through these studies, the field of English textbook analysis not only advances language education but also provides significant insights and support for educational reforms and societal development on a global magnitude.","PeriodicalId":505692,"journal":{"name":"Asian Research Journal of Arts & Social Sciences","volume":"18 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140708914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aims at exploring how Ghana’s religious variety has impacted the socio-ethical behaviour of the people in Ghana with a particular reference to the people in the Kotei community in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The study highlights the fact that the Ghanaian people’s way of life is defined and informed by their respect and tolerance of the religious other. Thus, recognition and tolerance for different religions is be found in nearly every area of the people’s lives. There are three main religious groups situated in the Kotei Community: African Indigenous adherents, Muslims and Christians. These religious groups are pluralistic with several divisions and denominations. This study therefore explores how the prevalence of several religions have affected the people’s way of life. It also discusses how religious tolerance and cooperation among the various religious groups in the area has gotten positive and negative effects on the people. The study does so using primary data derived from fieldwork in the said community and secondary data from the intern, published and unpublished literature in the form of books, newspapers and journal articles. The researchers adopted the qualitative method of research for the study. It is the expectation of the researchers that, after reading this material, readers will get to have an overview of the nature of religious diversity evidenced in Ghana and its effects on the socio-ethical behaviour of Ghanaians. The study will serve as precedence for future research on the nature of Interfaith relations and encounters in Africa especially in Ghana and the resourceful means of ensuring interreligious peace and harmonization in Ghana.","PeriodicalId":505692,"journal":{"name":"Asian Research Journal of Arts & Social Sciences","volume":"16 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140720388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In determining teachers’ commitment, it is important to consider demographic variables that might influence it. Hence, this study aimed to examine the impact of gender, age, and work experience on the organizational commitment of teachers. Using the Raosoft calculator, the researchers selected 150 public secondary teachers as respondents to rate the adopted questionnaire with demographic data. Employing a quantitative non-experimental research design with multiple regression analysis, the researchers described the relationship of the variables. Findings revealed a high level of teachers’ organizational commitment, with affective commitment as the highest. In terms of significant relationships, teachers’ organizational commitment and gender were found to be weak positive and statistically insignificant. On the other hand, teacher’s organizational commitment and age were found to have a weak negative and statistically significant relationship. Moreover, teachers’ organizational commitment and work experience were found to be weak positive and statistically significant. Further, the results of regression showed that gender, age and work experience are responsible for a 10.2% variation in teachers' organizational commitment. This means that there were still 89.8% of the variations that occurred in teachers' organizational commitment that could be explained by other factors not covered in this study. Generally, the predictors in the model are age and work experience, while gender does not have the ability to predict a teacher's organizational commitment. With these findings, teachers are encouraged to increase or sustain their commitment and avoid gender stereotypes. Plea Bargain is an agreement between the prosecutor and defendant whereby the defendant concedes to plead guilty to a particular charge in exchange for some concession from the prosecutor. This paper assesses the implication of plea bargain under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 in the fight against corruption in Nigeria; drawing lessons from Kenya. The paper is doctrinal, using primary and secondary sources of law such as case law, books, articles in journals, and internet materials. It examines plea bargain and innovations under Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 as well as complementary analysis of plea bargain under Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) of states and Kenya’s application of plea bargain in its anti-corruption fight. The paper finds that judicial decisions considered both in Nigeria and Kenya reveals that plea bargaining is a useful tool in fighting corruption. One of the key recommendations of this paper is having a Plea Bargain Guideline and Rule pursuant to ACJA 2015 as obtainable in Kenya. This will act as a guide for prosecutors, accused persons and other stakeholders in negotiating a plea bargain agreement.","PeriodicalId":505692,"journal":{"name":"Asian Research Journal of Arts & Social Sciences","volume":"73 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139386283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study relied on a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collated from a sample size of 85 respondents using a questionnaire and key informant interviews. This was also supplemented by a rigorous review of the ICU “Chumba cha Umbea” Television Programme. The study findings showed that the obsession by most of the viewers is what is entertaining to them, irrespective of whether such programmes fall short of the requirements governing the journalism profession in the country. The findings indicate that most of the respondents preferred to watch the programme at home with their family members. This study contributes to an area that has not been adequately researched and holds the potential to improve the journalism code of ethics landscape in the country.","PeriodicalId":505692,"journal":{"name":"Asian Research Journal of Arts & Social Sciences","volume":"49 52","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139151031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
