The main motivation stems from stability and\u0000stabilizing\u0000hybrid systems in which there is no trivial solution.\u0000An explicit criterion for stability in distribution is derived. The stabilizing effects of Markov chains, Brownian motions, and Poisson jumps are revealed. Based on these criteria, stabilization problems of stochastic differential equations with Markovian switching and Poisson jumps are developed.

For this, an auxiliary problem with a hyperbolic discrete inclusion is defined and, using locally conjugate mappings, necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for hyperbolic discrete inclusions are proved. Then, using the method of discretization of hyperbolic DFIs and the already obtained optimality conditions for discrete inclusions, the optimality conditions for the discrete approximate problem are formulated in the form of the Euler-Lagrange type inclusion. Thus, using specially proved equivalence theorems, which are the only tool for constructing Euler-Lagrangian inclusions, we establish sufficient optimality conditions for hyperbolic DFIs. Further, the way of extending the obtained results to the multidimensional case is indicated. To demonstrate the above approach, some linear problems and polyhedral optimization with hyperbolic DFIs are investigated.

In this article, we simplify this system by considering a linearization and by replacing the wave/plate equation for the structure by a heat equation. We show that the corresponding system coupling the Stokes equations with a heat equation at its boundary is null-controllable.\u0000The proof is based on Carleman estimates and interpolation inequalities. One of the Carleman estimates corresponds to the case of Ventcel boundary conditions.\u0000This work can be seen as a first step to handle the real system where the structure is modeled by the wave or the plate equation.

The wave dynamics are subject to a dissipative nonlinear velocity feedback and generate a strongly continuous semigroup of contractions on the optimal energy space L 2 (Ω) × H −1 (Ω). It is first proved that any solution to the closed-loop equations converges to zero in the aforementioned topology. Secondly, under the condition that the feedback nonlinearity has linear growth around zero, polynomial energy decay rates are established for solutions with smooth initial data. This constitutes new Dirichlet counterparts to well-known results pertaining to nonlinear stabilization in H 1 (Ω) × L 2 (Ω) of the wave equation with Neumann boundary conditions.

First, we introduce a general result on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to mixed-order delay linear systems. Next, we obtain necessary and sufficient criteria which characterize the positivity of mixed-order delay linear coupled systems. Our main contributions are in Section 5. More precisely, by using a smoothness property of solutions to fractional differential equations and developing a new appropriated comparison principle for solutions to mixed-order delay positive systems, we prove the attractivity of mixed-order non-homogeneous linear positive coupled systems under the impact of bounded or unbounded delays. We also establish a necessary and sufficient condition to ensure the stability of homogeneous systems. As a consequence of these results, we show the smallest asymptotic bound of solutions to mixed-order delay non-homogeneous linear positive coupled systems where disturbances are continuous and bounded. Finally, we provide numerical simulations to illustrate the proposed theoretical results.

The concept of 4D printing as a targeted evolution of 3D printed structures can be realised in a two-step process. One first fabricates a 3D object with multi-material active composites and apply external loads in the programming stage. Then, a change in an environmental stimulus and the removal of loads cause the object deform in the programmed stage. The dynamic transition between the original and deformed shapes is achieved with appropriate applications of the stimulus. The mathematical interest is to find an optimal distribution for the materials such that the 3D printed object achieves a targeted configuration in the programmed stage as best as possible.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Casting the problem as a PDE-constrained minimisation problem, we consider a vector-valued order parameter representing the volume fractions of the different materials in the composite as a control variable. We prove the existence of optimal designs and formulate first order necessary conditions for minimisers. Moreover, by suitable asymptotic techniques, we relate our approach to a sharp interface description. Finally, the theoretical results are validated by several numerical simulations both in two and three space dimensions.
