The calculated unit technical cost of producing 1 Mg of zeolites using an installation consisting of five reactors with a capacity of 25 m3 each is 211 eUr and is lower than the current market price of this product, including transportation costs. this proves the financial viability of the investment. the calculations of the economic efficiency of the installation (cBa method) show that it is fully economically viable to operate and use the products from a social point of view. ANAlIzA EFEktywNośCI koSztowEj I EkoNoMICzNEj PRoDukCjI zEolItów tyPu X z PoPIołów lotNyCh s ł o w a k l u c z o w e analiza kosztów i korzyści (cBa), ocena efektywności kosztowej, dynamiczny koszt jednostkowy (dgc), zeolit, popiół lotny S t r e s z c z e n i e w artykule zostały przedstawione wyniki oceny efektywności kosztowej i ekonomicznej produkcji zeolitów typu X z popiołów lotnych. pozytywne wyniki badań laboratoryjnych dotyczące jakości materiału zeolitowego otrzymanego z popiołów lotnych były podstawą do przeprowadzenia oceny kosztów ich produkcji w skali przemysłowej. ocenę efektywności kosztowej przeprowadzono przy wykorzystaniu dynamicznego kosztu jednostkowego (dgc). obliczony wskaźnik dgc wyraża techniczny koszt produkcji 1 Mg zeolitów syntetycznych. natomiast analiza kosztów i korzyści (cBa) polegała na obliczeniu ekonomicznej bieżącej wartości netto (enpV) i ekonomicznej wewnętrznej stopy zwrotu (eirr ). obliczony jednostkowy techniczny koszt wyprodukowania 1 Mg zeolitów na instalacji składającej się z 5 reaktorów o pojemności 25 m3 każdy wynosi 211 eUr i jest niższy od ceny rynkowej tego produktu, wliczając koszty transportu. {"title":"Foundry waste as a raw material for agrotechnical applications","authors":"M. Bożym","doi":"10.24425/gsm.2021.139744","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24425/gsm.2021.139744","url":null,"abstract":"This paper discusses the agrotechnical use of foundry waste based on spent foundry sands (SFS). The advantage of foundry waste use is its high concentration of quartz sands and its similar physical properties to soils, including good permeability and filtration rate. An important component of foundry waste containing a mineral binders (green sands) is the presence of a clay fraction. In contrast, organic binders in some foundry wastes increase the percentage of organic matter. However, organic binders may contain toxic substances that are hazardous to the biota. Therefore, it is not recommended to use foundry waste with organic binders in agriculture or horticulture. Moreover, heavy metals may be problematic in the agrotechnical use of foundry waste mainly derived from cast metal. The disadvantage of using foundry waste as soil substrates is the low proportion of fertilizing components. Due to the low content of nutrients in foundry waste, it is recommended that it is used as a structural component mixed with other additives, such as sewage sludge or compost. The paper presents the results of research on the content of pollutants and the assessment of the biotoxicity of foundry waste. Based on the analyzed literature reports and own research, it was found that the use of foundry waste for non-industrial purposes, such as the production of artificial horticultural substrates, soilless substrates and artificial soils (Technosols), should be preceded by numerous studies to confirm the absence of negative impacts on the environment and human health. Zaletą wykorzystania odpadów odlewniczych jest wysoka zawar131 Bożym 2021 / Gospodarka Surowcami Mineralnymi – Mineral Resources Management 37(4), 117–132 tość piasków kwarcowych i zbliżone właściwości fizyczne do gleb, w tym dobra przepuszczalność i współczynnik filtracji. Ważnym składnikiem odpadów odlewniczych zawierających spoiwa mineralne (green sands) jest obecność frakcji ilastej. Poza tym spoiwa organiczne obecne w niektórych odpadach odlewniczych zwiększają udział materii organicznej. Spoiwa organiczne mogą jednak zawierać substancje toksyczne, które są niebezpieczne dla organzimów żywych. Dlatego nie zaleca się wykorzystywania odpadów odlewniczych zawierających spoiwa organiczne w rolnictwie lub ogrodnictwie. Ponadto metale ciężkie mogą stanowić problem w agrotechnicznym wykorzystaniu odpadów odlewniczych, pochodzących głównie z odlewów. Wadą stosowania odpadów odlewniczych jako podłoża glebowego jest niski udział składników nawozowych. Z tego powodu zaleca się stosowanie ich jako składnik konstrukcyjny, po zmieszaniu z innymi dodatkami takimi jak osady ściekowe czy kompost. These pollutants have a negative effect on the health and life of living organisms. Metals which interfere with the natural biological balance and inhibit self-cleaning processes in water bodies have particularly toxic effects. Cobalt, which gets into the environment from industrial sewage from electrochemical plants and the metallurgical industry, also belong to this group. This is also relatively rare and precious element, so it is important to look for additional sources of its recovery. Chemical and physicochemical methods such as: precipitation, extraction, membrane processes – nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, sorption and ion exchange are used to recover cobalt. The choice of method depends on: the kind and composition of wastewaters as well as on form and concentration of the pollutants. Ion exchange resins produced by Purolite which were used to remove cobalt ions from solutions with concentrations corresponding to its contents in galvanic wastewater was the subject of the study. It has been shown that the C 160 ion exchange resin has the best the sorption properties for Co 2+ ions (54.7 mg/g). In case of this ion exchange resin, after sorption process carried out in one 50 minute cycle, cobalt concentration decreased from about 30 g/L to about 9 g/L. An expression of this is the adoption of the document entitled Poland’s energy Policy until 2040 (PeP 2040) in February 2020 by the Council of Ministers. The goal of the Polish energy Policy until 2040 is “energy security – ensuring the competitiveness of the economy, energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of the energy sector – taking into account the optimal use of own 65 Turek and Bąk 2022 / Gospodarka Surowcami Mineralnymi – Mineral Resources Management 38(3), 49–65 energy resources”. In PeP 2040, the previous assumptions of the state’s long-term energy policy were amended and an increase in the use of lowor non-emission sources was declared. In addition, the energy policy guidelines contain forecasts for the production of steam coal and the demand for this raw material. Based on the provisions of the document, as well as forecasts of the coal-production volume prepared by the authors and the assessments of experts in the fields related to energy and mining, the article contains considerations on the validity of the developed forecasts together with the determination of the production capacity of domestic mining enterprises in terms of covering the demand for steam coal used for the production of electricity and heat. It is planned, inter alia, that blocks of coal-fired power plants will be decommissioned and, in their place, there is to be the expansion of solar and wind energy and the commissioning of the first blocks of a nuclear power plant. Such activities, which cause a decrease in the demand for coal, are also related to the plans of changes in the functioning of mining enterprises – there will be successive closures of individual mines and mining plants.
