Rooted in the Technology–Organization–Environment framework, we specifically focus on the role of technological capabilities and organizational dynamics in shaping AI adoption within Jordanian SMEs. A comprehensive survey involving 364 SME owner-managers in Jordan serves as the empirical foundation. Findings reveal the significant impact of employee IT knowledge, IT infrastructure, managerial commitment, training initiatives and well-designed reward systems in shaping SME owners’ or managers’ attitudes to AI. These findings provide valuable insights for SME leaders and stakeholders, guiding them in developing strategies to smoothly integrate AI technologies in line with Jordan’s societal needs. The article concludes by emphasizing the study’s contributions, implications and limitations while suggesting potential directions for future research in this field.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"20 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141273348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The daily closing price of equity sector indexes from 1 January 2018 to 31 March 2023 were used. The research reveals strong sectoral return interconnectedness, with negative returns spillover dominating the assessment period. COVID-19 substantially impacted connectedness more than the Russian–Ukraine feud. The sectors such as bank, private bank and financial services were net transmitters of risk, and information technology was the net recipient of risk throughout the assessment period, indicating these sectors are not much affected by these crises. Sector return spillover patterns were similar during the epidemic and the Russian–Ukraine dispute, except for the oil and gas and metal sectors, which shifted roles. These findings suggest that policymakers must recognize and assess the peculiarities of industries that are high-risk transmitters when formulating strategies to prevent market failure or mitigate risk transmission to others. Investors may benefit from recognizing industries that operate as risk transmitters and receivers to create effective risk-mitigation investment strategies amid turbulent times.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"17 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141273650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the barriers that affect the successful implementation of digitalization using the interpretive structural model and also evaluates the interrelationships among the barriers in the implementation of digitalization. Previous articles in the discipline of digitalization were used in the literature to mainly draw barriers found during the implementation phase of digitalization. Interpretive Structural Modelling results helped to find different levels of barriers and their influence on the system. The high cost of digital technologies and political instability were identified as the leading barriers affecting the successful implementation of digital systems in South Africa. The findings will aid in decision-making for problem-solving to eliminate the most critical barriers to improve the implementation process.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"117 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141124246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study aims to examine how social media marketing activities may lead to brand loyalty. In this connection, the study investigates the role of brand community engagement and self-brand congruency. The data were gathered using a survey based on a questionnaire from 245 social media users following certain brand community pages on various social media platforms. Analysis of data set was conducted using structural equation modelling via Amos 23.0 and SPSS 20.0. Additionally, moderated mediation was assessed using SPSS’s Process macro. The findings reveal that social media marketing activities significantly influence customer’s loyalty towards the brand. However, this effect was found to be mediated through brand community engagement. Additionally, the outcome of the moderated mediation analysis demonstrated that the indirect impact of social media marketing activities on brand loyalty through brand community engagement was moderated by self-brand congruency. The study produces novel insights into the intricate relationship between social media marketing activities, brand community engagement, brand loyalty and self-brand congruency, significantly providing a roadmap for managers, guiding them to strategically craft brand experiences, adapt to consumer trends and foster emotional attachments with the brand.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"49 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140667341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, it explores how organizations’ social sustainability policies can help achieve sustainable development goals. The multi-stage process involves a structured survey of supply chain management leaders from the auto ancillary industry of the National Capital Region of India, and data were analyzed using econometric tools for meaningful insights. The significant findings from the study highlight that there is a considerable lack of awareness among supply chain leaders about the sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations. However, supply chain leaders make policies that influence social sustainability positively; they do not link it with sustainable development goals. The study reveals that leaders were unanimous on improving and adopting socially sustainable measures for creating efficient supply chains. This is one of the first studies that investigated the relationships between sustainable supply chain management and sustainable development goals laid down by the United Nations.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"16 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140674786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these firms need to grow and survive to produce these advantages. Entrepreneurs sometimes underestimate the difficulty of creating and running start-ups, even if their personality traits can help or harm them in managing start-ups. This article aims to explore the impact of entrepreneurs’ manipulative narcissism on start-ups’ survival and whether the impact of some cultural factors (i.e., uncertainty avoidance and indulgence) can moderate the relationship between entrepreneurs’ manipulative narcissism and the survival of start-ups. The article analyses 343 start-up entrepreneurs located in Italy, France, China, the United States and Denmark using a stepwise ordinary least squares method. Results show that entrepreneurs’ manipulative narcissism negatively affects start-ups’ survival and that uncertainty avoidance acts as a moderator in the above relationship. The article makes important theoretical contributions to the literature on entrepreneurship and cultural dimensions, highlighting even practical contributions for entrepreneurs and policymakers.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"26 25","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140364625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, our review of the literature found insufficient empirical research to support the theoretical connections between the variables in question. In this sense, the purpose of the present study is to cover this gap and to analyse the effect of SC on business performance. In addition, the mediating effect of RACAP was studied. Finally, the moderating effect of PACAP on the relationship between RACAP and business performance was analysed. Following the non-probabilistic convenience sampling method, a sample of 238 firms in the tourism sector in Peru’s World Heritage Cities was recruited. This study employs partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) for the statistical analysis of mediation and moderation. The results indicate that SC positively affects business performance and RACAP improves it. Likewise, PACAPs positively moderate the effect of RACAP on firm performance (FP). These results contribute to the theoretical understanding of the determinants of FP. Furthermore, it is helpful in practical managerial decision-making in the tourism sector in developing countries.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"15 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139957418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Asian countries are the most sought after by organic skin care brands due to increasing preference among women to buy products with safer and greener ingredients. Owing to the potential of organic skin care products in the near future, in the current study we have carried out a psychographic segmentation of women who intend to use organic skin care products. At prima facie, the current study is the first that segments young women who are prospects for the organic skin care industry. This is a pioneering approach to understand the lifestyle of women who use skin care products and are interested in using organic skin care brands. The deductive approach of questionnaire survey method has been adapted to collect the responses from purposive sampling of young Indian women using skin care brands. The data was analysed by applying exploratory factor analysis and K-means cluster analysis. The results revealed that three distinctive psychographic sets of young women namely ‘The Pococurante’, ‘The Trailblazers’ and ‘The Moderates’ are based on nine lifestyle factors. Further, the study also highlights the differences between the psychographic profiles from a marketing point of view. It promises to be beneficial to marketers to incorporate lifestyle as a key factor in the marketing mix of organic skin care brands. Depending on the dominant lifestyle factors in each cluster, unique marketing messages can be curated to attract each cluster towards organic skin care products.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"10 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139774091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the potential of e-payment systems and the Jan Dhan Aadhaar Mobile (JAM) trinity in enhancing access of the urban poor to social welfare schemes, thereby alleviating poverty. A survey of 585 economically weaker section households across 12 cities in Punjab state was conducted. The results indicate greater awareness of mobile and UPI payments compared to cards, but adoption gaps exist across demographic segments. Younger educated male earners perceive individual benefits like convenience and government benefits like transparency in e-payments. Integrating innovative e-payments in welfare programs increases the reliability of transactions, leading to positive multiplier effects on income, assets and skills and reducing vulnerabilities for the urban poor. The findings highlight the need for targeted initiatives by policymakers and Fintech firms to digitize payments and customized implementation measures to promote adoption among low-income citizen groups. This includes digital literacy programs, trust-building, co-creating tailored products and integrating e-payment mechanisms into social schemes. Thus, leveraging Fintech innovations through strategic policies and cross-sector partnerships can significantly advance financial inclusion to create a more equitable digital economy where the urban poor are not left behind.","PeriodicalId":503988,"journal":{"name":"Global Business Review","volume":"257 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139843043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
