In recent years, the state has promoted cultural confidence, encouraging people to re-focus on the spiritual connection with culture while satisfying their material needs. The trend of great attention to traditional culture and the continuous development of tourism have brought Pingyao lacquerware, a representative traditional handicraft, back to the public's attention. As one of the intangible cultural heritages, it is in urgent need of attention and protection due to the complexity of the craft and the difficulty of passing it on. Nowadays, the experience economy has become the trend of the times, and tourists are not only looking for material products or simple services but are also more and more concerned about their experience in travel activities. Therefore, it is essential to satisfy the personalized experience needs of tourists in the region of Pingyao regarding the lacquerware experience. Given this, this study takes Pingyao lacquerware as the object of research based on the theoretical background of experience design to explore new development paths for Pingyao lacquerware from the perspective of experience.","PeriodicalId":502806,"journal":{"name":"paperASIA","volume":"59 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141649662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It suggests that unclear or unsustainable tax regulations drive a shift towards the informal sector, fueled by benefits like tax evasion and reduced compliance costs. To encourage voluntary integration, the study proposes measures such as transparent tax laws, awareness campaigns on tax compliance benefits, and simplification of procedures. It advocates for policymakers to prioritize creating an environment conducive to integration over punitive measures. By fostering a fair tax system and addressing underlying factors driving informality, Egypt can boost tax revenue, ensure fairness, and promote sustainable growth. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, the study analyzes secondary data from official reports, academic literature, and relevant publications. This method allows for a systematic examination of tax legislative disruptions' impact on informal economic activities. It facilitates understanding the dynamics of tax regulations and their effects on informality by analyzing diverse information sources. This approach ensures reliable insights into the relationship between tax laws and the informal economy in Egypt.","PeriodicalId":502806,"journal":{"name":"paperASIA","volume":"06 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141359018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The stir casting technique was employed for composite fabrication, combining the benefits of cost-effectiveness and ease of processing. The research evaluates the mechanical properties of the developed MMC, including tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness, and impact resistance. Physical properties such as density and porosity were also investigated, alongside microstructural analysis using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), SEM energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the mechanical properties of the composite compared to the as-cast SAEH material. The ultimate tensile strength increased from 70.3 MPa for as-cast SAEH to 117.3 MPa for SAEH reinforced with SBG. Similarly, ultimate compressive strength improved from 513.7 MPa to 700.67 MPa, and hardness increased from 32.56 HRB to 43.33 HRB. Furthermore, the impact strength showed a notable enhancement, increasing from 1.4 Joules to 1.8 Joules. Importantly, the porosity percentage decreased from 14.28% in as-cast SAEH to 9.97% in SAEH+BS composites, indicating improved material density. This research contributes to the development of sustainable MMCs using recycled materials, offering enhanced mechanical properties and reduced environmental impact, making it valuable for various engineering applications. By aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this study addresses key sustainability targets and underscores the importance of environmentally responsible materials development in advancing global sustainability efforts.","PeriodicalId":502806,"journal":{"name":"paperASIA","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141380570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Malaysia, many successful stories of SMEs’ diversification strategies permit others to follow in their footstep. The success of the strategy allows businesses to develop not only locally but also venture into the international market. However, various issues and challenges could be associated with diversification strategy implementation particularly among SMEs within multiple industries involved. Therefore, this study aims to discover the issues and challenges faced by Kental Bina Sdn. Bhd., one of the steadily growing diversified businesses in Northern Peninsular Malaysia. This study employed a few rounds of one-on-one interviews with the business owner as the key informant to meet the study objective. The recorded interview sessions are then transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis through the Nvivo12 software. From the policy viewpoint, this study sheds light on the development of entrepreneurial training programs. The training program conducted by the relevant ministries and government agencies, including the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (MECD), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), SME Corporation (SMECorp.), and Tekun Nasional (TEKUN), needs to be specifically designed to address the issues and challenges of business diversification particularly among SMEs. For practical implication, this study helps to offer important information and inputs among other businesses, particularly SMEs, on what to expect when starting their diversification planning and strategy.","PeriodicalId":502806,"journal":{"name":"paperASIA","volume":"73 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140983044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodologically, the project organized a 6-week ‘bio blitz’ event open to citizen scientists to explore the flora and fauna of USM’s diverse campus habitats while cataloging species through the iNaturalist app. The results revealed that plant species dominated the observations, constituting 64.9% of recorded biodiversity and reflecting the rich botanical diversity on the USM campus. Further observations included insects (10.4%), fungi (7.6%), birds (6.3%), and various other species, underscoring the complexity of the ecological web of the campus. An evaluation of data quality revealed that 36.6% of the species identifications were categorized as “Research Grade”, 47.8% were designated as needing further identification, and 15.7% were graded as “casual”. In conclusion, the project leveraged the approach to create more public awareness about local ecological concerns and to strengthen the University community’s connection to nature.
