During the COVID-19, employees’ online home office work provided guidance for enterprises’ resumption of work and production. This mode can provide more time for production work, balance employees’ work and life, and improve work efficiency to a certain extent, but still exposed some problems. On the basis of introducing the concept of online home work for enterprise employees and the literature review, this paper mainly adopts the questionnaire survey and video interview method, and distributes questionnaires to employees of small and medium-sized enterprises in Jiangsu Province of China from November 8, 2022 to March 8, 2023. 304 effective questionnaires and descriptive responses from three interviewees were returned. With processing the data, independent variables, such as difficult to achieve physical management, immature enterprise security technology, reduced communication among employees, reduced enterprise cohesion, and imperfect legal system and dependent variables worked from home online are significantly correlated at the 0.01 level. The paper analyzes the problems existing in online home work for enterprise employees, and proposes management suggestions and countermeasures to solve the problems in online home work practice for enterprise employees.","PeriodicalId":502721,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management and Trade","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140412047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the rapid advancement of technology globally, the increasing rise of globalization, and the contagion effect across the globe have led to the adaptation of technology to a great extent in developing economies. Nigeria, as a developing economy, relies on the Western world for most of its technology, which is accompanied by a huge cost of the transfers, and the country is left with the dilemma of whether technology truly promotes public sector efficiency and growth. Against this backdrop, this study seeks to investigate the impact of technology on public sector efficiency in Nigeria. The study employed monthly data ranging from 2010 to 2022 and was extracted from the database of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The independent variables are Information, Communication, and Technology which served as a proxy for Technology, while Foreign Direct Investment, Exchange Rate, and Inflation were also included as the control variables in the model. While public sector efficiency which is proxied by public revenue represent the dependent variable. The result of the unit root showed that the variables are stationary at levels and first difference, hence the use of the ARDL model which established a short-run relationship among the variables. The result, in the long run ARDL showed that technology had a positive and significant impact on public sector efficiency. The study, therefore, recommends that the Government needs to intensify efforts in the process of acquisition and implementation of technology in the public sector to improve revenue generation for the Government and, invariably, output. A large portion of government budgetary allocations should be channeled more toward adequate development of IT infrastructures to increase efficiency. Ultimately, the Monetary and Fiscal Authorities should collaborate in churning out policies that will improve economic parameters such as exchange rate, interest rate, Inflation, output, etc.","PeriodicalId":502721,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management and Trade","volume":"15 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140427237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The widespread condition of gender disparity may be attributed to a lack of gainful employment and fixed wages with a regular source of livelihood. The majority of women are left out of the ambit of the decision-making process due to their inferior social and economic conditions. The status of women can be raised and gender equality can be achieved through MSME which empowers women with upward movement in economic, social and political hierarchy. MSME facilitates women entrepreneurs to utilise their entrepreneurial skills and talent and to play leadership roles to improve the conditions of women folk. The present study focuses on the role of leading women entrepreneurs of Puri district Odisha towards the objective of empowering women. The data gathered through questionnaires, surveys, person to person interaction during field visits/workshops/seminars/presentations form the basis for developing this article. During interaction all points raised, views expressed by respondents, and suggestions gathered were recorded to organize this article. It has been observed MSME sectors have largely contributed to improving women's status through employment, skill upgradation, innovations, and encouraging participative and collaborative decisions. However, simplifying and streamlining activities related to registration, products, production, financing, training, and marketing would enhance further value addition by MSME. The insights earned during the study about ground realities, problem areas, and steps towards a solution will help the researchers, NGOs, SHGs, field agencies, donors, bankers, government institutions, corporate houses, and planners to fine-tune their approach towards women empowerment.","PeriodicalId":502721,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management and Trade","volume":"86 S67","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140429149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study originates from the Doctoral dissertation of the first author in which the co-authors served as supervisors. Capital buffer theory and stewardship theories were utilized in supporting the nexus between the variables of the study. Secondary data was collected for the period 2013 to 2022 and panel regression analysis was applied. The study established that the nexus between CAMEL rating model and financial performance in the context of deposit taking SACCOs in Kenya is significantly predicted by gross domestic product. It was consequently concluded that the aggregate of economic growth as reflected by gross domestic product plays a significant role on CAMEL rating model and financial performance nexus with respect to deposit taking SACCOs in Kenya. The study recommends that the Government of Kenya should ensure economic growth in the country. The Government should stimulate economic activities through government policies and activities (of patronizing different sectors). Profits generated by SACCOs during economic expansion should be adequate reinvested into financial intermediation activities as well as other investment opportunities for purposes of diversification.","PeriodicalId":502721,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Economics, Management and Trade","volume":"57 30","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139441939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
