In this sense, this study aims to analyze the development, current status, and trends of the literature of human resource management research regarding its digital transformation. A total of 284 academic documents published between 2001 and 2022 in all fields of knowledge were retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database. Data was analyzed through VOSViewer software and bibliometrix R-package. According to the bibliometric analyses, from 2015 digital transformation of HRM had a sustained crescent interest being more remarkable since 2020. Foundational papers, the most influential documents, journals and authors were identified. Through a bibliographic coupling analysis, we identify five current mainstreams: 1) Impact, challenges and out-comes of e-HRM, 2) e-HRM and organizational strategy, 3) Conceptualization of strategic human resource management, 4) Effectiveness of e-HRM: productivity and performance, and 5) e-HRM and innovation. Co-word analysis shows clusters oriented to 1) digital platforms, 2) data analytics and 3) organizational strategy. All the conducted analyses show that human factors have received less attention, a finding confirmed by the thematic map. “Management, strategy, information” and “antecedents, quality and economic growth” are acquiring special relevance in structuring the research field of digital HRM according to the thematic map. These findings and their implications are discussed.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":50209,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Engineering and Technology Management","volume":"73 ","pages":"Article 101829"},"PeriodicalIF":3.7,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0923474824000341/pdfft?md5=2a770d721aa27be1a26c15473025c873&pid=1-s2.0-S0923474824000341-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141728647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While cooperative partners can provide JVs with various resources and technologies, allocation of the position of organizational resources remains unclear and needs to be further addressed. The main purpose of the current paper is to emphasize organizational slack resources (e.g., available slack and potential slack) to illuminate the settings that facilitate the effects of investment attractiveness and employee involvement on JV innovation performance. To demonstrate the real industry of JVs and examine the research purpose, we used various databases, including the National Bureau of Economic Research U.S. patent data file, Harvard DVN patent database, Compustat database and SDC global joint ventures databank to examine the hypotheses. The results show the positive and significant direct effects of investment attractiveness and employee involvement on JV innovation performance. These two factors are closely intertwined, interact with each other, and are highly complex and uncertain. The implementation of digital technology (DT) is a key driving force, providing crucial support for enterprises to cope with an open innovation environment. Our study seeks to reveal the mechanism of the impact of DT implementation on enterprises’ open innovation practices. Initially, this study introduces a novel concept of DT affordance composed of two dimensions: technological affordance and data resource affordance. Subsequently, DT affordance is employed to elucidate why DT implementation drives open innovation practices, and the duality mediating mechanism of DT affordance is proposed. We then differentiate between two types of digital transformation modes-business pull mode and technology push mode-and explore the interaction effects of the duality of DT affordance. Enterprise survey data indicate that the dual mediating mechanism of DT affordance is significant and technological affordance plays a more substantial role in the business-pull mode. Finally, we discuss the theoretical and practical implications of our research.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":50209,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Engineering and Technology Management","volume":"73 ","pages":"Article 101832"},"PeriodicalIF":3.7,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142040869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve this, they must have the ability to efficiently and timely modify their innovation resources by divesting and reorganizing them, even if these are their core ones. Although divestiture of core innovation resources is an important managerial phenomenon, the literature is rather silent on this issue. To address this significant gap, this study examines how the abandonment of core knowledge areas is related to innovation performance and how this relationship is moderated by absorptive capacity. Two hypotheses are developed about these research questions and tested on a sample of firms from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries. Findings suggest that the abandonment of core knowledge areas is a negative predictor of innovation performance; however, when the abandonment interacts with absorptive capacity the effect becomes positive.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":50209,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Engineering and Technology Management","volume":"72 ","pages":"Article 101814"},"PeriodicalIF":4.8,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0923474824000195/pdfft?md5=55e8e44e11bcee82c239ee40a4222ba1&pid=1-s2.0-S0923474824000195-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140604908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to examine the effective power structure in NPD projects through the lens of two divergent theoretical perspectives: Information Processing Theory (IPT) and Resource Dependence Theory (RDT). While IPT suggests the benefit of a balanced decision-making power among various subunits, RDT advocates for a concentrated decision power for faster consensus and efficiency. Our research specifically investigates whether a balanced or imbalanced R&amp;D/marketing power structure is more conducive to accelerating NPD time. This focus stems from the recognition that the interplay between R&amp;D and marketing is critical in shaping NPD outcomes, though we acknowledge the broader context of multifunctional collaboration in NPD, including aspects like manufacturing. The paper tests two competing hypotheses: one advocating a balanced R&amp;D/marketing power structure as per IPT, and the other supporting a dominant R&amp;D/marketing power structure in line with RDT. We surveyed project leaders, R&amp;D, and marketing personnel from 126 NPD projects across 87 Taiwanese firms. The empirical results significantly endorse the balanced R&amp;D/marketing power structure hypothesis, suggesting that a harmonious collaboration between these two key subunits can expedite NPD processes. Our findings contribute to both academic research and managerial practice by offering nuanced insights into optimizing power structures within NPD teams, particularly highlighting the efficacy of a balanced R&amp;D/marketing approach in the context of the prevalent theories.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":50209,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Engineering and Technology Management","volume":"72 ","pages":"Article 101817"},"PeriodicalIF":4.8,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140906698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, demographic and social differences behind the acceptance of AV technology are an emerging topic in the East-Central European region. These countries (e.g., Poland, Slovakia, Romania) move on a similar technological development path, and the social and economic conditions are alike; thus, Hungary represents this region well. This study contributes to fill this niche. We used quantitative research methods (factor analysis, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Pearson-correlation) to analyze with a snowball (non-probability) sampling. The Hungarian respondents (N=949) selected in the sample were interviewed through a face-to-face and online quantitative questionnaire. The results show that gender and age influence mostly the acceptance; residence and occupation have only partial influence. The propensity to take risks is significantly differentiated in almost all demographic segments. The results facilitate differentiation of users based on their demographic characteristics in AV adoption. Furthermore, the integration of risk propensity into the analysis helps to identify which potential user groups are more likely to overcome any fears of novelty or which clusters are more likely to adopt the current framework of safe transport without driver control. The outcomes are of interest to engineers, manufacturers and policy-makers who can adapt their products, services and taking measures to meet the mobility needs of potential users and introduce effective incentives to increase public acceptance of AVs.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":50209,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Engineering and Technology Management","volume":"72 ","pages":"Article 101813"},"PeriodicalIF":4.8,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0923474824000183/pdfft?md5=2930a6a58a135f09375d6d782deae221&pid=1-s2.0-S0923474824000183-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140347400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
