Inverse renormalization group methods enable the\u0000iterative generation of configurations for increasing lattice size without the\u0000critical slowing down effect. We discuss the construction of inverse\u0000renormalization group transformations with the use of convolutional neural\u0000networks and present applications in models of statistical mechanics, lattice\u0000field theory, and disordered systems.
Uncovering gauge-dependent critical order-parameter correlations by a stochastic gauge fixing at O($N$)$^*$ and Ising$^*$ continuous transitions
We study the O($N$)$^*$ transitions that occur in the 3D $mathbb{Z}_2$-gauge\u0000$N$-vector model, and the analogous Ising$^*$ transitions occurring in the 3D\u0000$mathbb{Z}_2$-gauge Higgs model, corresponding to an $N$-vector model with\u0000$N=1$. At these transitions, gauge-invariant correlations behave as in the\u0000usual $N$-vector/Ising model. Instead, the nongauge invariant spin correlations\u0000are trivial and therefore the spin order parameter that characterizes the\u0000spontaneous breaking of the O($N$) symmetry in standard $N$-vector/Ising\u0000systems is apparently absent. We define a novel gauge fixing procedure -- we\u0000name it stochastic gauge fixing -- that allows us to define a gauge-dependent\u0000vector field that orders at the transition and is therefore the appropriate\u0000order parameter for the O($N$) symmetry breaking. To substantiate this\u0000approach, we perform numerical simulations for $N=3$ and $N=1$. A finite-size\u0000scaling analysis of the numerical data allows us to confirm the general\u0000scenario: the gauge-fixed spin correlation functions behave as the\u0000corresponding functions computed in the usual $N$-vector/Ising model. The\u0000emergence of a critical vector order parameter in the gauge model shows the\u0000complete equivalence of the O($N$)$^*$/Ising$^*$ and O($N$)/Ising universality\u0000classes.

Particularly\u0000prominent in Abelian lattice gauge theories (LGTs), an open question is whether\u0000QMBS nontrivially arises in non-Abelian LGTs. Here, we present evidence of\u0000robust QMBS in a non-Abelian SU(2) LGT with dynamical matter. Starting in\u0000product states that require little experimental overhead, we show that\u0000prominent QMBS arises for certain quenches, facilitated through meson and\u0000baryon-antibaryon excitations, highlighting its non-Abelian nature. The\u0000uncovered scarred dynamics manifests as long-lived coherent oscillations in\u0000experimentally accessible local observables as well as prominent revivals in\u0000the state fidelity. Our findings bring QMBS to the realm of non-Abelian LGTs,\u0000highlighting the intimate connection between scarring and gauge symmetry, and\u0000are amenable for observation in a recently proposed trapped-ion qudit quantum\u0000computer.

One approach involves substituting the continuous\u0000gauge group with a discrete subgroup, but the implications of this\u0000approximation still need to be clarified. To gain insights, we investigate the\u0000subduction of $ SU(2) $ and $ SU(3)$ to discrete crystal-like subgroups. Using\u0000classical lattice calculations, we show that subduction offers valuable\u0000information based on subduced direct sums, helping us identify additional terms\u0000to incorporate into the lattice action that can mitigate the effects of\u0000digitization. Furthermore, we compute the static potentials of all irreducible\u0000representations of $ Sigma(360 times 3) $ at a fixed lattice spacing. Our\u0000results reveal a percent-level agreement with the Casimir scaling of ( SU(3)\u0000) for irreducible representations that subduce to a single $ Sigma(360 times\u00003) $ irreducible representation. This provides a diagnostic measure of\u0000approximation quality, as some irreducible representations closely match the\u0000expected results while others exhibit significant deviations.

Here, we study\u0000observables related to both aspects using lattice simulations: the Polyakov\u0000loop and its derivatives and the chiral condensate and its derivatives. At zero\u0000baryochemical potential, and infinite volume, the chiral and deconfinement\u0000crossover temperatures almost agree. However, chiral and deconfinement related\u0000observables have a qualitatively different chemical potential and volume\u0000dependence. In general, deconfinement related observables have a milder volume\u0000dependence. Furthermore, while the deconfinement transition appears to get\u0000broader with increasing $mu_B$, the width as well as the strength of the\u0000chiral transition is approximately constant. These\u0000singularities are extracted from singularities in the net baryon-number density\u0000calculated in $N_f=2+1$ lattice QCD at physical quark mass and purely imaginary\u0000chemical potential. Taking an appropriate scaling ansatz in the vicinity of the\u0000conjectured QCD critical endpoint, we extrapolate the singularities on\u0000$N_tau=6$ lattices to pure real baryon chemical potential to estimate the\u0000position of the critical endpoint (CEP). QMC simulations provide unambiguous evidence\u0000for first-order transitions, with the discontinuities increasing with $n$. For\u0000$n=2$ and $n=3$ models, the first-order signatures are very weak. On\u0000intermediate length scales, we extract well-defined scaling dimensions\u0000(critical exponents) that are common to the models with small $n$, indicating\u0000proximity to a quantum critical point. By combining two $Q$ terms, the\u0000transition can be tuned from weak to more strongly first-order. The two\u0000coexisting orders on the first-order line scale with a large exponent $beta\u0000approx 0.85$. This exponent and others are close to bounds for an SO($5$)\u0000symmetric CFT with a relevant SO($5$) singlet. We characterize the emergent\u0000SO($5$) symmetry by the scaling dimensions of its leading irrelevant\u0000perturbations. The large $beta$ value and a large correlation length exponent,\u0000$nu approx 1.4$, partially explain why the transition remains near-critical\u0000even quite far away from the critical point and in many different models\u0000without fine-tuning. In addition, we find that few-spin lattice operators are\u0000dominated by the SO($5$) violating field (the traceless symmetric tensor), and\u0000interactions involving many spins are required to observe strong effects of the\u0000relevant SO($5$) singlet. The exponent that had previously been identified with\u0000the divergent correlation length when crossing between the two phases does not\u0000have a corresponding CFT operator. We explain this emergent pseudocritical\u0000scale by a mechanism relying on a dangerously irrelevant SO($5$) perturbation.
