In education, it is proposed that: – far greater responsibility should be delegated to School Leadership Teams; and that; – successful Leadership in education requires a balance of principle (the moral basis of the school), purpose (the core business of the school) and people (social relationships in the school). A clear distinction is then drawn between leadership (complexity), management (clarity) and administration (consistency). This is followed by a discussion on distributed leadership, the idea that the leadership role is not confined to the Senior Leadership Team; but should, for example, involve subject leaders. Finally, the idea of Governance is introduced: a process whereby a legally constituted team of local partners support and challenge the School Leadership Team; helping them to fulfil their responsibility for the leadership and management of the school.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"Impact of COVID-19 on the Structure of Morning Shows in Bulgaria in Period 2020 – 2023","authors":"Maria Konstantinova","doi":"10.53656/voc23-453vlia","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.53656/voc23-453vlia","url":null,"abstract":"This report examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the structure of the four main morning blocks in Bulgaria – “The Day Begins” on BNT, “Hello, Bulgaria” on Nova Television, “This Morning” on BTV and “Bulgaria Morning” on Bulgaria ON AIR. The purpose of the report is to track how the content and structure of the four morning television blocks changes due to the impact of the pandemic over a period of two years (from 2020 to 2023). When choosing the methodology for conducting the research, the nature of the set goal is taken into account, adhering to the principles of high ethics and efficiency of quantitative and qualitative indicators and criteria. The results highlight the different methods used to change the structure and content of morning TV blocks in the covid period. In conclusion, it is clear that each of the television stations has taken different ways to deal with the covid crisis without depriving the audience of information on all current topics in our country and around the world. Despite the imposed change of operation, all four morning television blocks retain their structure of topics and guests, all relying on a rotating change of presenters and online conversations via video link.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The year coincides with Bulgaria's accession as a member state of the Union, which marks a new stage for our country in the management of policies for the development of physical education, sport for excellence, social responsibility and public health, education, social inclusion, etc. In this period, as a result of significant changes in the development of institutions in the field of sport in Bulgaria, as well as changes brought about by external and internal factors, the system of physical education has fallen into a crisis, from which in the following years began to gradually emerge. The practice of sport among children, adolescents and adults is becoming increasingly restricted. Socially disadvantaged people rarely engage in physical activities, the performance of elite athletes in international events brings unsatisfactory results. All this comes as a regularity from the political, economic and social changes in society. This publication traces the institutionalization in the field of sport, which began as early as 1945, when the Department of Physical Culture and Sport was established under the Ministry of Public Health. It traces the development of sport institutions in Bulgaria over the years. It focuses on the period 2012 – 2023, the policy pursued and the strategic documents adopted in the field. Through a comparative analysis of the National Strategy for the Development of Physical Education and Sport in the Republic of Bulgaria 2012 – 2022 and the National Strategy for the Development of Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sport and Sports and Tourism 2023 – 2034, which has been publicly discussed, as well as accompanying documents, the main priorities, problems, objectives and their implementation are analysed.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focuses on the observation and analysis of the new phenomena in the field of public relations, in the aspect of the most common techniques and tools used by PR practitioners in their daily activities. The method used to collect information is an online survey conducted among public relations professionals. The results of the survey highlighted several elements of the profession that have undergone changes due to the rise of social media platforms. First and foremost, the element of networks and information emerges, as social media allows practitioners to create and maintain strong relationships and contacts while helping them stay current with relevant trends. The second element that emerges is helping to build and maintain a reputation and a more positive public image - a key element of PR. Strategies related to building this reputation, along with the companies' values, are coming to the fore, using social media as an important platform to promote them. From another perspective, the company's reach and communication with the public through social media allows for a two way conversation with the audience, along with facilitating the dissemination of information and gaining greater visibility online. The study succeeds in outlining the importance of social media while highlighting the limitations it faces as a tool.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its subject are the images through which the topic of ‘Bulgaria’ is communicated to the British public at the beginning of 20th century. These images are found to be informed by the symbols of the dominant discourse iconography as well as by innovative approaches to the representational paradigm. The paper applies the historical discourse approach to the process of uncovering the link between the representations of Bulgaria in English travel writing and the models of identification deriving from the socio-political reality of the division between the colonial Great Powers and the marginal newly-liberated states. The constructivist focus on the continuous mutually constitutive interaction between social reality and communication is pivotal in the study. The travelogue is interpreted as a communicative act in the course of which the subject and the object position themselves and assume or attribute to each other identities matching their social roles. The images of „gentlemen“, „peasants“, „warriors“, unlock models of identification that either reaffirm the status quo in the British-Bulgarian relations or advocate a closer engagement of Britain with Bulgaria.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"Performing Arts Streaming – a Necessity or an Extra: Opinions of Theatre Organization Managers","authors":"Simona Nanova","doi":"10.53656/voc23-454stre","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.53656/voc23-454stre","url":null,"abstract":"This study is an empirical part of a dissertation on the topic \"The Streaming Model of Distribution in the Performing Arts\", provoked by the increasing digitization of performing arts work and their presentation through streaming and live-streaming online. It analyzes this new distribution tool through the prism of the managers of selected theatre organizations in Bulgaria. Like any new and unexplored phenomenon, steaming raises concerns. It has been accused of contradicting live art and could destroy it. At the same time, streaming provides a real opportunity to reach larger number of audiences and extend the life of highly artistic performances that can no longer be performed on stage. For the purpose of this research, which is one of the first in Bulgaria, the author created an open-ended expert questionnaire aimed at managers of state, municipal and private theatre organizations. Their answers and opinions were analysed and conclusions were drawn as to whether this new distribution channel in the performing arts is cost effective, feasible and artistically safe. An answer is sought to the question whether this new business model is a necessity or whether it is more appropriate to define it as an additional service, an extra. The research is relevant and necessary. It is part of a larger analysis that compares the opinions of theatre managers on SI streaming with audience attitudes. Exploring both sides of the same process gives a more holistic picture of how closely the views of audiences match or are similar to the views of those who create and sell theatre productions.","PeriodicalId":499988,"journal":{"name":"Profesionalno obrazovanie","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135876406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
