However, the rapid rise of cryptocurrencies has led to concerns and debates about the sustainable characteristics of risky investments like cryptocurrencies. This research explores the drivers of economic bubbles in the cryptocurrency market, potentially affecting their long-term sustainability and implications. In the quantitative analysis, this research employs time series analysis to analyze data and identify patterns of historical cryptocurrency prices and trading volume to explore the relationship between bubble indicators and sustainability factors. The qualitative analysis reveals that most investors rely on social media, newspapers, and other trusted businesses to gather information about the cryptocurrencies they intend to invest in.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135658906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the shortage of skilled labor, some manufacturing human resource professionals lack the strategies and processes necessary to acquire and retain skilled employees, and this challenge is particularly true in rural areas where economies are more dependent on manufacturing. For this qualitative multiple-case study, data were gathered from a population of manufacturing human resource professionals working for international companies with a presence in rural Giles County, Tennessee. Guided by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and Herzberg’s motivation-hygiene theory, the purpose of this multiple-case study was to explore the strategies and processes manufacturing human resource professionals use to acquire and retain skilled employees. Data were collected from individual interviews and a focus group. Using the modified van Kaam method of data analysis, two themes emerged as key strategies to acquire and retain skilled employees: company culture and succession. The data from this study may contribute to business practices in manufacturing industries or human resource management. The implications for positive social change include the potential for the rural community to become more attractive for other industries and to improve the quality of life for individuals who reside in the community.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135659489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study initially formulates a hypothesis by integrating existing data and using prospect theory. Specifically, it posits that loss aversion and reference points have a significant impact on the decision-making process of Chinese customers when purchasing auto insurance. Utilize quantitative analysis to survey individuals and investigate the hypothesis. Additionally, conduct SPSS analysis to further explore the findings. The study reveals that incorporating factors of loss aversion and a reference pricing point significantly impacts the decision-making process regarding the acquisition of car insurance, leading to positive outcomes. The study provides new insights into the insurance industry based on the conclusions drawn from the research.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135505954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scale to represent the opinions of the study sample, that was selected using the random sampling method, where the researchers randomly distributed (55) a questionnaire and (50) valid questionnaires were approved for analysis, representing a response rate of (91%). The results of the study showed that there is a positive and strong correlation between the style of democratic leadership and job satisfaction and that there is an inverse relationship between the style of autocratic leadership and job satisfaction. The study’s findings also showed that there is no connection between a laissez-faire leadership style and job satisfaction. Accordingly, the study recommended that the style of leadership adopted in the organizations targeted by the study should enhance job satisfaction, loyalty to the organization, and performance in general. The study also suggested expanding the research circle to include a larger number of governmental as well as private universities and adopting other leadership styles as variables for future research.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135507822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, Côte d’Ivoire is the world’s leading cocoa producer, with an estimated production of over 2.25 million tons in 2021. However, nearly half of the raw cocoa beans are exported, while the rest are processed into semi-finished products. This naturally results in a significant loss of value for the sector, as it loses out on added value in the upstream production chain. The development of the local cocoa industry would be a major step towards the government’s goal of becoming an emerging country by 2030. In this regard, the Ivorian government is considering the establishment of three new industrial units with the aim of locally processing the entire cocoa production of the country by 2030. This article aims to explore the challenges and prospects of local cocoa processing in Côte d’Ivoire. To this end, our study focused on six small local cocoa processing units located in the cities of Daloa, Issia, Bouaflé, Oumé, and Abidjan. We employed a qualitative method for the exploratory nature of our research, which involved the use of an interview guide and conducting semi-structured interviews with the leaders of the studied facilities. The results obtained highlight the significant role that small local cocoa processing units can play, as well as the numerous challenges they face, such as obtaining financing, acquiring more efficient equipment, production capacity, and the lack of Ivorian culture in chocolate consumption.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"273 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135508036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research results indicate that the variance decomposition of high-quality economic development shows that talent aggregation and technological innovation are both driving forces for high-quality economic development, but the lag effect of talent aggregation is relatively small. For every 1% increase in talent aggregation level, the level of high-quality economic development increases by 0.154%. For every 1% increase in technological innovation level, the level of high-quality economic development increases by 0.325%; in the variance decomposition results of talent aggregation, high-quality economic development and technological innovation have a positive effect on talent aggregation and the effect is gradually increasing, but the lag effect of talent aggregation itself is becoming smaller and smaller. For every 1% increase in the level of high-quality economic development, the level of talent aggregation increases by 1.204%. For every 1% increase in technological innovation level, the talent aggregation level increases by 0.212%; in the variance decomposition results of technological innovation, the lag effect of high-quality economic development and talent aggregation is relatively large, but the proportion of talent aggregation is relatively small. For every 1% increase in the level of high-quality economic development, technological innovation increases by 1.700%. For every 1% increase in talent aggregation, technological innovation increases by 0.141%. Therefore, relying solely on talent aggregation cannot achieve the goal of high-quality economic development. It is also necessary to increase innovation investment, enhance the effect of talent aggregation, allocate resources reasonably, and form a positive interaction among the three.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135504941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Empirical estimation results show that TAs between member countries with different levels of economic development are more likely to promote bilateral GVC participation. Moreover, the effects of TAs on bilateral GVC participation levels are heterogeneous across member countries. Specifically, TAs have a higher impact on forward GVC participation of developed member countries than that of developing member countries but the effect on backward GVC participation of developed member countries is smaller than that of developing member countries. Finally, the heterogeneous effect is larger in size in the case of deep TAs. This study not only enriches the literature on the relationship between trade agreements and bilateral GVC participation but also provides a new idea for economies to promote bilateral GVC participation.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135561534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some scholars argue that financing initiatives have largely excluded meaningful local actor participation in the process of rolling out the various interventions. This article explores the interactions that occur between some of the financing initiatives and government agencies in the energy sector in Zambia. The article presents the perceptions of experts in the sector on how the local stakeholders, have interacted with development partners in designing, implementing, and monitoring renewable energy initiatives in Zambia. The results reveal that generally most respondents were of the view that the local actors were given enough room in the project design and implementation process. However, almost 30% of the participants believed the role played by the local actors was minimal and needed to be improved. Therefore, in this era of advocating for a just transition towards clean energy, local stakeholder involvement facilitates an equally important concept of procedural justice which is essential to have a meaningful decision-making process that allows stakeholders on all sides to understand the key players in the process but also the impacts and burdens that may result from those decisions.","PeriodicalId":499878,"journal":{"name":"Open Journal of Business and Management","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135659259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
