This paper presents aspects of tribological diagnostics of aircraft engines based on periodic testing of lubricant samples in laboratories. Firstly, the object of research with its design features, operating parameters and used lubricants is presented, as well as the theoretical basis of tribological testing. This was followed by a description of the testing methods used in tribological diagnostics of aero-engines, taking into account lubricant degradation and contamination processes, standards, testing methodologies and operating experience described in the literature, including the machine failure curve. Next, the capabilities of the testing methods are illustrated with results from periodic tribological testing of turbine engines, obtained at an accredited tribological systems diagnostics laboratory. In the following section, the role of trend analysis and statistical criteria in the process of diagnosing and managing the risk of operation of aero-engines, exploited according to both their technical condition and planned maintenance, was indicated. Then, the possibility of improving the reliability of tribological diagnostics of aero-engines on the basis of experience from industry - real-time monitoring of selected tribological parameters - was signalled. In this context, the need to ensure continuous/regular maintenance of machinery, identify potential hazards and ensure operational safety seems to be a challenge. Moreover, selecting an appropriate maintenance method is crucial for a mine, both economically and in technical/organizational terms. This study aims to present the preliminary results of diagnostic tests for pumps performing operational tasks in a mine shaft dewatering system. In addition, this study focused on a detailed discussion of the basic elements of the mine shaft dewatering system and the technical objects studied. A preliminary operational test plan for the investigated pumps operating in the mine shaft dewatering system is also presented. This enabled a discussion of the results obtained from the tests of the first quarter of 2023. The tests used three basic diagnostic methods: vibration analysis, thermal imaging and acoustic testing. The research work carried out made it possible to identify the main problems in the selected supply chain from the wood-based industry. They are associated with the occurrence of negative effects, including the destruction of the pallet, aging of goods in the warehouse, high packaging costs, and inefficient transport processes realization, including the processes of handling pallet units. In the context of external risks, a particular challenge is the shortage of raw materials on the market. The analyses were performed in the time domain (analysis of peak-to-peak pressure) and frequency domain (analysis of changes in frequency and pulsation amplitude). The results of experimental studies have shown that the change of the pump’s rotation speed influences changes in the course of pressure pulsation (peak-to-peak pressure and amplitude), in some cases significantly increasing the parameters mentioned. The requirements for airfield pavements are specified in defense standards, as well as in civil documents, e.g. (International Civil Aviation Organization), EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), where exploitation parameters in the field of airport pavement construction are defined. The article presents the methodology of the initial assessment of the technical condition of airport pavements in terms of existing damage, as well as anomalies of the existing gradeline, which may indicate inadequate evenness of the pavement. The assessment was made using an aerial photogrammetry kit and the test results were presented. The calculations made it possible to verify the initial assumption and provided new opportunities to develop a simplification of real steel hardenability tests of steel. Test results may also allow for the simplification of the designed structure. The rapidly developing microelectronics means that UAVs are being used in many areas of life. One of these is firefighting. Their small size, ability to be remotely controlled and low cost have made drones a significant rival to conventional aircraft. The selection of appropriate sensors and control algorithms results in a device capable of efficiently assisting firefighters during operations, especially in difficult-to-access terrain such as forests. However, surveillance of large natural areas such as forests, airports and logistical bases is challenging. Using UAVs can greatly facilitate this process, making it more efficient.
