Telemedicine, involving remote clinical services using technology, is a rapidly evolving field intersecting with legal, ethical, and professional domains. The primary aim is to understand Zambia's telemedicine regulatory framework through an analysis of key documents namely the Zambia E-Government Interoperability Standard (eGIF), Zambia Digital Health Strategy 2022-2026, HPCZ Guidelines for the Quality Assurance of Telemedicine Services, and Statutory Instrument 43 of 2023 (SI 43 of 2023). The study addresses the challenge of comprehensively understanding and effectively implementing telemedicine in Zambia, considering the evolving nature of technology and healthcare services. Mapping the regulatory framework is a critical exercise for ensuring legal compliance, maintaining high standards of service, protecting patients, and making informed strategic decisions in the telemedicine sector. The study conducts a detailed exploration and content analysis of the aforementioned documents. This includes examination of their contributions to establishing a strong telemedicine landscape in Zambia, focusing on aspects like interoperability, data security, and healthcare service delivery. Findings reveal each document's significant, yet varied, contributions to the telemedicine framework in Zambia. The eGIF ensures integrated, standardized, and secure digital telemedicine services. The Zambia Digital Health Strategy 2022-2026 promotes telemedicine via digital technology and global alignment, while the HPCZ Guidelines provide a detailed framework focusing on ethical and legal standards. SI. 43 of 2023 emphasizes data security, quality assurance, and collaboration in telemedicine. Comparatively, Zambia's framework, as shaped by the four documents, aligns with global standards but differs in its centralized regulation and strategic focus, lacking extensive coverage on medical device regulations and reimbursement issues seen in other countries. The study suggests the need for a unified approach to telemedicine, emphasizing standardization, legal compliance, accessibility, and inclusivity. Recommendations include improving interoperability, ensuring data security, and fostering user-centric telemedicine services for enhanced healthcare outcomes.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"73 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139535604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due of this, their ductility and flexural strength are also low. The flexural strength of concrete is enhanced by the addition of fibers. Flexural strength has been a challenge for geopolymer concretes, thus researchers have tried using fibers to strengthen them. On the other hand, geopolymer concretes have never before utilized hybrid fibers. This study is an effort to incorporate hybrid fibers in geopolymer concrete to prevent its brittle fracture. Experiments are conducted to learn more about the geopolymer concrete's different mechanical characteristics, and then the settings are fine-tuned. Mechanical qualities of geopolymer concrete are improved by determining the optimal molarity of sodium hydroxide, the optimal ratio of sodium silicate to sodium hydroxide, and the optimal proportion of addition of fibers.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"83 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139535652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The oxidative stability of raw peanuts (P), roasted peanuts (RP), roasted and coated peanuts with Arabic gum (RCP-AG), and roasted and coated peanuts with Arabic gum and 100 ppm BHT (RCP-AG-BHT) was determined based on parameters such as free fatty acids percentage (FFA%), peroxide value (PV), p-Anisidine value (pAV), Totox value (TV), and sensory properties at intervals of 0, 30, 60, and 120 days.The estimated coating percentage (CP %) for all treatments is about 2.5% and the yield of oil from hydraulic pressed peanuts kernels and treatments were ranged from 35.6 to 47.1%. Nine fatty acids were identified from raw and roasted peanuts oil and characterized by large percentage of unsaturated fatty acids (USFAs) (82.1 %) with large proportion of oleic acid (49.45%) and linoleic acid (31.92%), while saturated fatty acids were 17.9%, with large proportion of palmitic acid (11.36%) followed by stearic acid (3.48%) in RP. The FFA (%) of extracted raw peanuts oil was 0.68%, this percentage was increased after roasting significantly (p< 0.05) in all treatments and control, but it didn't increase during storage period. An increase in PV values of roasted and treated samples were noticed throughout the storage time. After 4 months of storage, the maximum value of PV was (75.1 meq/kg) recorded by the roasted sample (RP), whereas the minimum value was (43.9 meq/kg) recorded by (RCP-AG- BHT). pAV increased significantly after roasting and during storage time in all peanuts samples. However, RP-AG-BHT showed no significant differences in pAV after one month of storage. An increase in TV values of roasted and treated samples were noticed throughout the storage time, while the TV for RP-AG and RP-AG-BHT where less when compared with the control (RP). There were no significant differences (P < 0.05) in the color, hardness and crunchiness between control and treatments after 2 months of storage. However, Glossiness, rancidity and off-flavor were significantly affected.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"121 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138982245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through the use of a car network and an AdHoc approach, it provides the user with environmental traffic information. Combining the networks of cars, known as VANETs, allows for infrastructure-free data transfer, particularly for entertainment and emergency vehicle notification. The data or packet delivery ratio, data communication latency, data transmission faults, and details of vehicle collisions are among the traffic information provided by the internet of vehicles. In this work, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is used to solve the problem of route optimisation in VANET topologies for effective data transfer.  Many routing protocols are used to improve the effectiveness of the packet or data routing process. In order to alleviate the routing issue and generate an effective way for efficient data transfer with strong network stability, the Optimised Link State Routing (OLSR) Protocol is used in this study with energy-saving techniques on many parameters. To evaluate the efficacy of the suggested routing technique on various network sizes, extensive simulations are carried out on the NS2 simulator with various network parameters. When compared to traditional routing protocols along UAV-based protocols for data transmission, the performance results of the suggested data routing solution employing OLSR protocol achieve higher efficient pathways. Ultimately, the suggested routing system produces superior outcomes in terms of message throughput, message delivery ratio, latency and network overhead on comparing with existing routing protocols.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"127 48","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138599158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking place in the context of a conference on Islamophobia at Georgetown University in Qatar, the study analyzes the role Western media played in reinforcing negative stereotypes and biases against Muslims before and during the event. It highlights Qatar's wide-ranging efforts to educate the public, influence policy, and promote open discussions on how to counteract these prejudices. Special attention is given to the significant role of sports celebrities, particularly football star Mo Salah, in reducing anti-Muslim sentiment. Empirical data support the idea that Salah's public Muslim identity contributed to a decline in hate crimes and negative social media chatter. Additionally, the study explores the possible positive impact, known as the \"Qatar effect,\" that hosting the World Cup could have on reducing negative attitudes towards Muslims. This is similar to how Mo Salah's presence and influence have positively affected public opinion, known as the \"Salah effect.\" The paper also discusses how Qatar infused cultural elements, like Quranic verses and Bedouin traditions, into the event to foster a broader understanding and appreciation of its heritage. It further addresses ethical and human rights concerns such as the conditions of migrant workers and civil liberties, emphasizing the inconsistency in how the world reacts to these issues in different contexts. Overall, this research offers a comprehensive look at how the 2022 FIFA World Cup served as a stage for Qatar to influence global perspectives on Islamophobia while shedding light on the social and political complexities tied to hosting a world-renowned event.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"6 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135974492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, PCA is limited in image compression because there is a need to transmit or store the eigenvectors of the input data over a communication link and thereby affects the rate-distortion performance. In an effort to improve rate-distortion performance, this work proposed a block-to-row PCA (BTRPCA) algorithm that employs the eigenvectors from the model image of the same image modality coupled with a row vectorization approach. It is found from this work that the proposed method achieves PSNR improvements of up to 10 dB compared to its PCA counterparts at compression ratio of 64:1. At the same compression ratio, the proposed BTRPCA managed to achieved PSNR of 40 dB while the comparing algorithms scores well below 40 dB at the same configuration. This approach successfully improves the rate-distortion performance by reducing the overwhelming side information and computation overhead associated with PCA.","PeriodicalId":499708,"journal":{"name":"International journal of membrane science and technology","volume":"5 20","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135974501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
