Specimens previously treated as G. lucidum from\u0000 Pakistan were reviewed and found to represent different species, among them G. multipileum. As there are no records of field collected basidiocarps within this lineage, traditional basidiocarp-based morphological taxonomy is not practical. While basidiocarps\u0000 may be obtained rarely from incubation of fungal comb fragments, their practical use for taxonomical purposes is limited. Therefore, the species is described based on an ITS nucleotide sequence, with comparisons to an asexual culture. Based on samples with similar ITS sequences, this species\u0000 is likely associated with multiple termite hosts across a large part of Africa.

His idiosyncrasies were exhibited also during his extensive travel and residence in Europe. Two subjects drew his\u0000 ire to specific workers: 1) Lloyd concluded that the numbers of fungi were limited, especially the mycota of Europe versus North America, so what he considered an inflated number of taxa was unwarranted; and 2) the accepted and "legislated" custom of adding the names of authors following nomenclatural\u0000 binomials, which Lloyd considered personal 'advertising.'
