As data marketplaces are business-to-business (B2B) platforms that mediate between unrelated businesses, managers often fear losing control over shared data (or, in other words, losing data sovereignty). However, despite extensive work in the technical community to create control mechanisms, the impact of enhanced control on data marketplace adoption by data owners remains unclear. This study develops and tests a theoretical model that relates perceived control to willingness to share data in the context of IoT data marketplaces for manufacturing industries. We surveyed 299 managers in manufacturing businesses using a scenario of a data marketplace that allowed data owners to control their data offerings directly through smart contracts that enforce data sharing conditions. We find that perceived control significantly impacts willingness to share data. The effect is partially mediated by lower risk perceptions but not by trust in data buyers. The research shows the importance of perceived control for data sharing intentions, implying that data marketplace operators should provide noticeable control mechanisms to foster adoption. This research contributes to the broader platform control literature by theorising <em>reflective supply-side control</em>, an underexplored phenomenon where supply-side control (e.g., data owners) over the demand side (e.g., data buyers) shapes the supply side's own behaviour.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":49444,"journal":{"name":"Technovation","volume":"149 ","pages":"Article 103371"},"PeriodicalIF":10.9,"publicationDate":"2025-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145060497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fewer still embrace the power of supply chain information sharing for robust supply chain management. If this is so, then there is a cause for concern. Here, the researchers used SmartPLS4 for data analysis and model testing, utilizing the mediating effects of supply chain resilience and supply chain robustness in the relationship between green procurement policy and business performance. The researchers found a positive association between supply chain information sharing, entrepreneurial orientation proactiveness, and green procurement policy. The results signify that supply chain resilience and supply chain robustness mediate the constructive association between green procurement policy and business performance. Our findings have practical implications where firms can promote information flow, foster proactive entrepreneurship, and enhance supply chains’ resilience and robustness to support green procurement strategies. By integrating these insights into their strategy, businesses can gain a competitive advantage in the global market while fulfilling their regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. Our research is the first to examine the mediating role of supply chain resilience and supply chain robustness in ensuring the impact of green procurement policy on enhancing business performance.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":49444,"journal":{"name":"Technovation","volume":"149 ","pages":"Article 103358"},"PeriodicalIF":10.9,"publicationDate":"2025-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145049109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The environment often afforded to firms traversing developed and emerging economies means that BMI is not an end to itself but a regular process involving changes to business models. This paper departs from the usual entity-based ontology of BMI to a more process-based ontology that highlights the nuances of innovation in and with business models as the role of business model innovation in a bifurcated world of developed and emerging economies is addressed. In doing so, we undertake an integrated systematic literature review using the Context-Intervention-Mechanism-Outcomes method to analyze 72 research articles between 2003 and 2024. Using storytelling to present the findings, the narrative initially starts with context of firms, usually from developed economies, that are venturing overseas employing multiple business models, to seek opportunities. The midpoint (i.e., intervention and mechanisms) of the story contains rich and nuanced developments involving firm capabilities and knowledge management initiatives in addressing emerging economy innovation and reverse innovation. The findings culminate with varying forms of BMI as outcomes. This work contributes to the research on business models by showing that the concept is more nuanced, as notions of innovation-enabling business models and business model reinnovation are explored. In addition, this work highlights the traversing between the bifurcated worlds of developed and emerging economies as a boundary condition of business model reinnovation. Finally, using the profiting-from-innovation as a lens, we highlight how business models are deployed in emerging economies as orchestrative mechanisms that enhances firms’ ability to profit from their innovations. We offer a mechanism-based perspective of business models that enable firms to reflexively identify and integrate dominant designs of emerging product innovations, its complementary assets and optimise appropriation regimes.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":49444,"journal":{"name":"Technovation","volume":"149 ","pages":"Article 103348"},"PeriodicalIF":10.9,"publicationDate":"2025-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145026276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The global emergence of these technologies has significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, air pollution, oil consumption, and dependence on fossil fuels. However, adopting these technologies has also raised concerns about energy justice and has sparked a fundamental question about how energy-efficient products should be disseminated in society. Accurate forecasting of the sales trajectory of environmentally friendly technologies is crucial for their continued development. The present research aims to develop a flexible changepoint model that can successfully forecast the diffusion paradigm of Energy-efficient technological innovations by randomly capturing the evolution of adoption rates over time. The proposed model is empirically tested using historical sales data of Electric vehicles (EVs) and photovoltaic (PV) solar installations. The robustness and prediction performance of the proposed model are compared with conventional models using two quantitative measures: Entropy Ranking (ER) and Variance Ranking (VR). Assessing different empirical models can help identify the most suitable model for specific innovations and markets. The study posits that firms encountering an increased RIEC will encounter heightened environmental legitimacy pressure, facilitating their GTI participation. The cost-effectiveness of gaining legitimacy and the significance of breakthrough outcomes in proving environmental governance determination may lead firms to participate in both exploitative and exploratory GTI. Moreover, firms in competitive industries are anticipated to be more sensitive to legitimacy pressure from RIEC, thereby participating more in GTI. This study further argues that exploratory GTI holds greater potential in proving legitimacy and distinguishing firms from competitors. Thus, the impact of industry competitive intensity is more pronounced in enhancing the association between RIEC and exploratory GTI instead of exploitative GTI. Utilising a sample of 995 firms listed on the Chinese A-share market during 2010–2022, this study proposes a text-based measure of RIEC and validates the above conjecture. The findings provide valuable implications for stakeholders seeking to utilise RIEC in managing corporate GTI.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":49444,"journal":{"name":"Technovation","volume":"149 ","pages":"Article 103359"},"PeriodicalIF":10.9,"publicationDate":"2025-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145010669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, we argue that this relationship will be more pronounced when there is lower <em>opportunity</em> for interpersonal knowledge transfer, and in particular when firms (a) have a large number of employees, (b) do not provide on-site employee training, and (c) have higher employee turnover.
