The importance of CRM can be attributed to the need for today’s businesses to be customer-centric or customer-focused. As a business strategy, CRM seeks to develop and improve relationships with targeted customers to optimize customer value, competitiveness, and corporate profitability. While CRM has a truly strong business case, approximately 70% of CRM implementation projects do not create the intended business value. With this in mind, this work has reviewed relevant literature and explored 8 CSFs that can guide SMEs wishing to successfully implement CRM projects. The 8 CSFs cover the people, technologies, and processes – the core elements of a CRM strategy. In particular, the 8 CSFs include senior leadership sponsorship, customer-oriented CRM strategy, effective change management, customer data quality and availability, human resource management, the right CRM technology, CRM implementation methodology, and systems integration. Future studies may consider ranking the significance of the 8 CSFs based on the findings of an empirical research.","PeriodicalId":491475,"journal":{"name":"Emirati Journal of Business Economics & Social Studies","volume":"14 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135405839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These software applications did not consider the immense growth of user generated data and struggled to keep up with the pace of the technology. It necessitated developing new applications that focused on the principles of artificial intelligence and data mining such that a heuristic search could provide meaningful results for big data. Smart keys applications and user interface of data streaming are two examples where it is crucial to manage big data for gaining competitive advantage in the contemporary context. This study analyses different aspects of big data in the context of analytics for smart keys application and user interface of streaming data. The study is based on the collection and analysis of secondary data. Data was collected from peer-reviewed journal articles, books, technology magazines, and other authenticated sources. The findings of the study indicated significant benefits of using big data analytics in smart keys applications and user streaming for big data. These applications are the best candidates for applying the concepts of big data analytics and organizations can gain a competitive advantage from the implementation.","PeriodicalId":491475,"journal":{"name":"Emirati Journal of Business Economics & Social Studies","volume":"15 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135368178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It requires scientific collection and analysis to arrive at findings, that explains a phenomenon. Data are either primary or secondary. In a post pandemic world, restrictions are posing challenges to the collection of primary data for scientific analysis purpose. This is due to limited financial and/or time resources and/or some form of social distancing. A sustaining alternative for open science program is secondary data. These are data collected by a credible source like government and reputable organizations (Chinelo Igwenagu, 2016; Morgan & J.Harmon, n.d.). How accessible are open data for open science in the MENA region? The difficulty and/or unavailability of data poses a challenge to open science practices in the MENA region. This paper intends to investigate open data for open science and economic development in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a leading country in the MENA region. The aim is to identify the region’s open data and open science gaps based on the Open Data Barometer (ODB) framework and proffer insight for optimization, using the national data governance approach of Open data as per the Open Data Charter (ODC) principles of 2015. This study reviews a 63 randomly selected list of government entities & ministries open data practices in the UAE. Potential findings will help assess open data and open science strategy in the region. This is significant because it will draw the attention of MENA government and stakeholders to the gaps and opportunities in the revival of a post pandemic economy. It could also serve as a model for other MENA nations in their pursuance of all-round development.","PeriodicalId":491475,"journal":{"name":"Emirati Journal of Business Economics & Social Studies","volume":"42 12","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135405191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Corporate bankruptcy techniques, models and theories focus on predicting the bankruptcy only rather than preventing bankruptcy which helps corporate managers take the right borrowing decision. The researcher believes that Corporate Debt Safe Buffer is a valid model in this respect. This thesis tests a bankruptcy prevention model (Eldomiaty, et al., 2014) on the non-financial firms listed in DJIA30 and NASDAQ100 over the period 1999-2016. The results provide a validation for this model with Trade off, Pecking Order and Free Cash Flow theories of capital structure as the results are quite significant and can be used for determining a debt ratio safe buffer. The researcher uses the following statistical methods to test the new model Lagrange Multiplier Test, Cointegration Using Unit Root Test, Linearity versus Nonlinearity Test, Hausman Test. The results prove that: (a) firms tend to adapt a positive debt ratio safe buffer, (b) there is no significant difference between debt ratio safe buffer and the observed debt ratio. The overall results show that the predication of bankruptcy is a helpful tool for credit rating agencies when evaluating corporate creditworthiness, although the model help avoiding bankruptcy.","PeriodicalId":491475,"journal":{"name":"Emirati Journal of Business Economics & Social Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135592050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these accomplishments may not be widely known, even among most employees, since the effectiveness of organizations is largely dependent on the level of culture and engagement within the organization. In addition to internal operations, organizations must also consider their external relationships with partners and the wider community, which can lead to mutually beneficial outcomes and increased success for the organization. Overall, the success of an organization is multifaceted and relies on a variety of internal and external factors. Effective internal operations, a strong culture and high levels of engagement, and positive external relationships all contribute to the success of an organization. When discussing the social responsibility of an organization and its contribution to sustainable development in society, it refers to all actions taken by the organization to demonstrate its concern for society and the environment. This includes taking full responsibility for the impact of its activities and taking steps to mitigate them (Yoon, Giirhan-Canli & Schwar, 2006). However, due to their internal nature, these events and activities may sometimes be ambiguous, and the extent of the organization's role in terms of its capabilities, outcomes, and achievements may not be well-understood. Therefore, disclosing the reality and extent of an organization's impact on society, as well as how it addresses negative consequences while enhancing positive outcomes, is crucial. The significance of disclosure lies in the fact that it requires organizations to inform their partners, particularly the community, about the true extent of the impact of their activities and operations on society. This includes addressing any negative effects while enhancing the positive ones through annual reports, whether general or specific ones focused solely on corporate social responsibility and sustainability. In this paper and within the UAE society, we are working on measuring the experience of disclosure and issuing reports for organizations and the roles they play, and the extent to which they achieve these goals. This is done quantitatively by surveying the community's opinion using a general questionnaire, which we measure through awareness and practices. The study included 125 participants from the community, and 70% of them did not review any sustainability report issued by any organization in the country. Out of the participants, 80% knew about sustainability reporting, and over 54% belonged to organizations that had not yet released any sustainability reports. In order to achieve more efforts in the field of sustainable development, it is necessary to raise awareness among members of society about what the organizations they are working for do.
