The application of mindfulness in treating the lifestyle variables linked to the risk of cardiovascular disease shows promise in improving self-awareness, mood regulation, and attention control. In addition to lowering stress, anxiety, and depression in elderly, mindfulness therapies have the potential to improve glycemic management. This study aims to investigate the potential efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions in addressing this complex issue.\u0000Methods: The Cochrane Library, Embase, and PubMed/MEDLINE electronic databases were searched by the author to find pertinent systematic reviews and meta-analyses.\u0000Results: A summary of the available research review explores the impact of mindfulness-based interventions on elderly individuals with metabolic syndrome from years 2011-2023. Examining both psychological and physiological outcomes, the study focuses on depression, quality of life, and key health indicators such as BMI, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar.\u0000Conclusion: Findings shed light on the potential benefits of mindfulness practices in improving mental well-being and positively influencing metabolic parameters in the elderly population. To fully understand the biological impacts of mindfulness on human physiological processes, more investigation is required.

This study was planned to assess the QOL among the elderly and the associated factors in rural Bihar.\u0000Methods: This community-based cross-sectional study among 395 elderlies residing in rural Bihar adopted a multistage sampling technique and a standard WHO-QOL BREF tool to assess the QOL. A multivariable linear regression analysis was performed and an adjusted beta-coefficient was reported to determine the factors determining the QOL.\u0000Results: A total of 33 [8.4% (95% CI: 6-11.5%)] out of 395 elderlies had poor QOL. Age [adjusted B= -0.19 (-0.3 to -0.07)], Females [adjusted B= -1.89 (-3.5 to -0.25)], No. of drugs consumed [adjusted B=1.7 (0.4 to 2.99)], presence of any of the comorbidity [adjusted B=-5.9 (-10.8 to -1.1)], presence of Polymorbidity [adjusted B=-3.5 (-6.6 to -0.4)] were found to be independent correlates of QOL scores among elderly.\u0000Conclusion: Almost one in ten elderlies had poor QOL. MAD is also a determinant for anthropometric failure. We aimed to assess the status of minimum acceptable diet, extent of anthropometric failure and correlates of MAD among children aged 6-23 months in a rural area of Murshidabad, West Bengal.\u0000Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional study in a block during April-July’2023, among 96 calculated sample of children selected through multistage sampling. We used a pre-designed schedule to collect data by interviewing the mothers of the children. Nutritional status was assessed by anthropometry and using Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure. Data were analysed using SPSS 20.0.\u0000Results: Only 34.4% (95% CI 24.6-44.5) children received optimal MAD; 70.8% had total anthropometric failure. Muslims (AOR: 6.13; 95% CI: 2.03-18.54) and currently non-breastfed children (AOR: 4.44; 95% CI: 1.09-7.95) were at higher risk of sub-optimal MAD. Anthropometric failure was significantly associated with MAD (p= .033).\u0000Conclusions: Minimum acceptable diet status is unfavourable and associated with high anthropometric failure among children in the area; breast-feeding status being an influencing factor. This reduction in intergenerational cohesion and filial responsibilities has caused older people's dissatisfaction, sadness, and grief. Depression and dementia impair elderly people worldwide by taking away their independence and autonomy.\u0000Methodology: The authors use the experimental approach to implement the 5H model, evaluate its efficacy, and show the change in depression levels and symptoms in Quang Ngai's elderly. The author chose 26 senior persons from Truong Quang Trong Ward and 23 from Tinh Thien Village to engage in the intervention study. The semi-experimental study compared N=60 samples (Experimental Group=30 and Control Group=30). The elderly control group receives conventional therapy according to the local program, whereas the experimental group receives community intervention. The GDS-15 and ICD-10 examined the intervention's efficacy.\u0000Results: This study found that I mild depression had a significant change post-intervention; (ii) the mean score of depression through 2 assessments (GDS-15 scale and ICD-10 clinical assessment) both showed a significant reduction; (iii) females tended to change more than males; (iv) elderly aged 60-70 were easier to change than those over 80 years old; and (v) community-based psychosocial therapy had a significant impact on depression.\u0000Conclusion: Considering the aforementioned favourable results, the Quang Ngai city depression prevention intervention program for the elderly is practical and can reduce symptoms, severity, and reverse depression.
