{"title":"Effect of Concept Based Cartoons as art integration on Alternative Concepts in Chemical Bonding","authors":"Sandeep Kumar","doi":"10.59231/sari7735","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.59231/sari7735","url":null,"abstract":"This study is carried out to investigate and analyze the effect of art integration in chemistry curriculum by concept-based cartoons integrated in the context based chemical concepts learning approach on class 9th students’ alternative concepts in chemical bonding. The study was conducted with 45 students of grade 9, within a non-equivalent pretest-posttest group design (NEGD). A chemical bonding concept test conducted to gather the data with 16 multiple choice question (MCQs), and to probe their conceptions, a clinical interview with 5 open ended questions was used. Interview questions and MCQs were based on the same alternative concepts. The study concluded with a positive effect of context-based approach on the remediation of chemical bonding alternative conception. Sports facilities are those immobile infrastructures for sports training, competitions and events. While, sports equipment are items that are movable and are utilized for a period of time. Sports facilities and equipment management are referred to the process of planning, purchasing, administering, coordinating and evaluating the day-to-day procedure of facilities and equipment utilization. This paper explored the role of sports facilities and equipment management on young athletes’ sports participation in Nigeria. The concepts of sports facilities and equipment management were critical reviewed. Related issues were also discussed, such as; sports facilities and equipment maintenance cost, standard sport facilities, modernization in sports facilities and equipment management and safety in sports facilities and equipment usage. It concluded among others that sports facilities and equipment management create a safe and healthy environment for sports participation among young athletes, which in turn set the tone for promising great future athletic performance. Its spirit resides in the villages. The Indian economy is basically rural and agricultural. The upliftment of villages is necessary for the all-round development of the country. 70 percent of the population of this country with rich human resources lives in about 6 lakh villages. Development of rural areas is a big problem in this hugely diverse country. Many problems like poverty, unemployment, rapid population growth, malnutrition, disease can be seen in rural areas. Keeping these in mind, the framers of the Constitution had laid emphasis on the implementation of rural development schemes. The Father of the Nation had envisioned rural development through Panchayati Raj. The 73rd Amendment Bill of the Indian Constitution proved to be a milestone in the matter of rural development. Various schemes sponsored by the Central and State Government proved effective for rural progress and restructuring Bilaspur district is located in the eastern part of Chhattisgarh. This district is surrounded by Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh state and Koriya, Raipur, Korba, and Janjgir districts of Chhattisgarh state. The total area of Bilaspur district is approximately 3508.48 square kilometers. It is hilly in the north and flat in the south. The average rainfall in this district is about 1220 mm. The district is surrounded by Agar, Maniyari and Arpa rivers. The total population of Bilaspur district is approximately 12663629 out of which 79% people live in villages and the total population density is approximately 674 persons per square kilometer. The physical, economic, socio-cultural condition of the rural parts of this district is pathetic. There are many obstacles in the path of rural development, which require systematic solutions. This district has immense development potential, which needs to be the focus of the government and planners. Drawing upon interdisciplinary perspectives from environmental science, public health, epidemiology, and social sciences, the study investigates different environmental factors for example air and water quality, biodiversity loss, environment change, and pollution, and their impact on human health outcomes. Moreover, the paper discusses the relevance of ecosystem services in supporting human health and well-being and examines the potential of nature-based solutions for mitigating health risks associated with environmental degradation. human activities and health-related behaviors exert substantial pressure on the environment. Industrialization, urbanization, and unsustainable resource consumption degrade ecosystems, compromise biodiversity, and exacerbate climate change, thereby threatening environmental health. Deforestation, for instance, not only diminishes biodiversity but also amplifies the risk of zoonotic diseases transmission, as human encroachment brings humans closer to wildlife habitats. Promoting sustainable practices, such as renewable energy adoption and waste reduction, can mitigate environmental degradation while fostering public health. Additionally, enhancing access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved areas, and implementing policies to regulate pollution and safeguard natural resources are paramount. Umejiego","doi":"10.59231/sari7726","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.59231/sari7726","url":null,"abstract":"Mosquito vector of human diseases associated with artificial containers in the Surrounding of Imo State Polytechnic Omuma, were studied between the months of May 2023 to August 2023. The collection of larvae of mosquitoes from the artificial breeding sites identified in the study area were done using dipper (ladle) constructed locally. Eight different sites designated (A- H) were used for the study. A total of 712 mosquitoes were identified, after larvae collected from the sites were reared to adult stage. They belong to three (3) genera of four (4) Species. They include Anopheles species 161 (22.6%), Aedesaegypti, 168 (23.6 %), Aedesalbopictus 148 (19.9 %) and Culexquinquefaciatus241 (33.8%). Site G recorded the highest percentage occurrence of species 131(18.4%) while Site A recorded the least with 63 (8.8%) mosquitoes. Results from different sites was not significantly different when compared for species abundance at p value ˃0.05. Species abundance was also compared among the months used for the study to statistically determine the month that has the highest abundance of species in the study area. Public health implication of different species encountered in the study area were determined using standardized keys. His courageous sacrifice for the Indian nationalist movement is remembered as Martyrs’ Day on 23 March. On this day, on 23 March 1931, Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were hanged. To liberate the country of India, these brave sons had kissed the noose with a smile. That is why this day is called Martyr’s Day. At that time Bhagat Singh was only 23 years old. At the young age of 23, he along with his comrades sacrificed their lives for the motherland, due to which Bhagat Singh became a favorite of the youth during the freedom struggle. This famous slogan of “Inquilab Zindabad” had expressed the voice of patriotism in every vein of the heart, mind and body of the Indian youth. Bhagat Singh was born on 27 September 1907 at 09.00 am in Banga village, District – Lyallpur. His father’s name was Sardar Kishan Singh Sandhu and mother’s name was Vidyavati Kaur. At the time of his birth, his father Kishan Singh and some family members were in jail. His uncle Ajit Singh was always in front of him as a motivating force and role model. His father Sardar Kishan Singh, who worked all his life for the independence of the country, was his source of inspiration. Inspired by the revolutionary family, the spirit of courage, sacrifice and patriotism developed in Bhagat Singh. In his early days, Bhagat Singh supported Mahatma Gandhi’s non-cooperation movement. But later, due to Gandhiji canceling the non-cooperation movement, some anger arose among them. But like the entire nation, he respected Gandhiji. Bhagat Singh was only 12 years old at the time of Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This massacre filled Bhagat Singh’s mind with anger against the British. At the same time, Bhagat Singh was so disturbed by the hanging of four revolutionaries and the imprisonment of 16 other revolutionaries in the Kakori incident that he merged his party Navjawan Bharat Sabha with the Hindustan Republican Association and gave it a new name, Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. “Today the desire for sarfaroshi is in our hearts, let us see how much strength the killer has in his arms” These are the words of those revolutionaries whose story of courage, sacrifice and bravery is remembered across the country.
