John Duns Scotus. The Franciscan theologian shows iniquity of this act on the basis of a bad intention. The object alone isn’t sufficient for a final moral qualification. This teaching is consistent with Duns Scotus' theory of the moral act and it confirms it. It harmonizes with his metaphysics and epistemology.","PeriodicalId":485414,"journal":{"name":"Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135608001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author notices numerous ecclesiological threads that allow to collect and systematize the papal thoughts about the Church. They form an ecclesiology that has its sources, has characteristic features and areas of interest. Looking at the teaching of Francis from the perspective of fundamental ecclesiology, the author of the article finds four original features in him, as it were, \"new features\" of the Church. They are poverty, solidarity, peripherality and charity. Each of them is theologically justified by Francis and embedded in the papal ministry.","PeriodicalId":485414,"journal":{"name":"Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne","volume":"178 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135608007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An Attempt to Evaluate Christian-Muslim Dialogue","authors":"Piotr Kaczmarek","doi":"10.30439/wst.2023.1.8","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30439/wst.2023.1.8","url":null,"abstract":"The paper indicates the diagnosis the Christian-Muslim dialogue conducted by the Catholic Church, especially taking into account the indications of the Second Vatican Council. The question arises whether the mutual discourse of the representatives of the two religions is currently giving rise to a perspective of peace, or rather fear for the future? There is no denying that militant Islam accentuates the escalation of violence. These behaviors can give rise to fear and questions about the possibility of coexistence in this world. These events build up the circumstances of our time, which theology must to explain. To examine the wider context, the teaching of Vatican II on dialogue with Islam was recalled, and the teaching and actions of the post-Conciliar popes were recalled. This effort clearly indicated the possibility of cooperation, but also delineated the limits, which the Church must not cross. Therefore, although there is a real opportunity to develop joint projects, there are also significant limitations. Moreover, as practice shows, the Church's benevolent gestures often fall on deaf ears, and it seems that this effort is inadequate to the expected fruits of dialogue. Therefore, the possibility of dialogue can be discovered in Catholic Mariology. The person of Mary can become the reason for Muslims to turn to Christianity, which is shown by certain indications of the piety of the followers of Islam towards Mary. It is also an important premise for the Church to rely less on human action and strategy lined with diplomacy and politics. It is necessary to pray much more for the conversion of Muslims, so that God Himself may do the work of changing the hearts of the followers of Islam.","PeriodicalId":485414,"journal":{"name":"Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135608008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They can be seen as spontaneous processes or as deliberate actions. They can be bottom-up or top-down in nature. When it comes to their subject matter, they mainly concern the issue of redefining marriage, the broadly understanded fertility and the role of parents in the child-rearing process. The redefinition of marriage is not just about negating the necessary sex difference in marriage, but, at a deeper level, also about passage from marriage understood as a natural union to marriage understood as a contract. What is taking place here is a shift in political anthropology, i.e., a shift from a vision of man as an inherently social being, and in particular inherently destined to live in marriage - an indissoluble union of one man and one woman, open to having offspring - to a vision of man as an autonomous individual with no obligations to other people unless they are accepted consciously and voluntarily, and can be dissolved or renegotiated at any time. Atomistic individualism leads to the perception of all human ties as restricting individual freedom. Hence abortion (the ability to free oneself from a child), divorce (the ability for one person to withdraw consent) or migration (the ability to leave the broader community) and the legal guarantees of such choices are seen as necessary backstops to individual freedom. The reproductive controversy is rooted in negative attitudes toward the child as an individual person and negative attitudes toward fertility in general (paradigm of overpopulation, anthropogenic climate change). The child, therefore, either violates the rights of parents or poses a threat to humanity. The article specifically examines the relationship of the challenges facing the family today to the dominance of liberal ideology and the phenomenon of secularization.","PeriodicalId":485414,"journal":{"name":"Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135608004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It supposes an ecclesiological turn, which has its novelty in the intertwined reading of Lumen gentium 12 (sensus fidei) and 23 (local Churches). It foresees a new reception of pneumatology and a spiritual and binding dynamic of all the faithful, and introduces restitutio (or giving back) as a new step on the way to build the sensus totius populi. We are living an ecclesial stage in which a first emergence of what will be a synodal ecclesiality can be appreciated, though not fully yet theorized. We will try to develop this in the following contribution.","PeriodicalId":485414,"journal":{"name":"Warszawskie Studia Teologiczne","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135607997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
