{"title":"Developing an Attitude of Positive Tolerance Among Young People in Poland a Collective Case Study","authors":"Anna Zelma","doi":"10.18290/rt2023.13","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18290/rt2023.13","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents the findings of a quality study conducted in 2021 on developing an attitude of positive tolerance among young people in Poland. The collective case study method was applied. Five cases of educational institutions were analysed whose statutes provide for the promotion of the pedagogy of tolerance inspired by the teachings of John Paul II. The research sample comprised: The Centre for the Thought of John Paul II, the “Opus of New Millenium” Foundation, the John Paul II Institute for Intercultural Dialogue in Kraków, the St. John Paul II Youth Aid Foundation “Wzrastanie,” and the Association of Friends of Catholic Schools. The educational programmes of these institutions mainly address young people in Poland. The study revealed that positive tolerance, based on an axiological foundation, occupies an important position in the activities of these institutions. Founded on the teachings of John Paul II, it incorporates human dignity, respect, the common good, responsibility, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, and cooperation. The study revealed that educational initiatives were diversified concerning the content and methodological solutions, whose aim is to discover the essence of positive tolerance and its boundaries. These create various opportunities to get to know another person, show respect, dialogue, change prejudices, cooperate, and build unity in diversity. {"title":"Die Interdisziplinarität in den Theologischen Forschungen","authors":"Andrzej Anderwald","doi":"10.18290/rt2023.10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18290/rt2023.10","url":null,"abstract":"Interdisziplinarität bei der Erforschung der Komplexität der Realität findet unter Wissenschaftlern immer mehr Befürworter. Seit dem Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzil ist die Theologie auch offener für die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Wissenschaften, nicht nur mit den Humanwissenschaften, sondern auch mit den verschiedenen Disziplinen der empirischen Wissenschaft. Die interdisziplinäre Offenheit der Theologie wirft eine Reihe von Fragen auf. Sollte ein Theologe auf die Stimmen von Befürwortern anderer Wissenschaften hören, wenn viele von ihnen wenig oder gar kein Interesse an seiner Wissenschaft haben? Hat die Theologie den anderen Wissenschaften im interdisziplinären Dialog etwas zu sagen? Kann das interdisziplinäre Profil der Theologie dazu beitragen, ein ganzheitliches Menschen- und Weltbild zu schaffen? Kann interdisziplinäre Forschung in der Theologie zur Glaubensvermittlung in einer wissenschaftlich geprägten Weltanschauung beitragen? Der Autor beantwortet die gestellten Fragen positiv und plädiert für die Notwendigkeit, Interdisziplinarität in der theologischen Reflexion zu berücksichtigen. Scholastic theology dealt with this issue within the framework of the treatise on God the Creator; however, it is not exceptional that it is also treated in a separate part. In this paper, we pay attention to spiritual creatures in the context of the eminent Polish theologian Wincent Granat who emphasized respect for the Christian tradition and pointed to the vital values of Christian dogmas. In his pre-Conciliar work Catholic Dogmatics, he discussed most of the issues of dogmatic theology using the scholastic method. The Early Occasional Poetry of St. Titus Brandsma as a Literary Testimony of His Love of God, Life, and the Family","authors":"Marcin Polkowski","doi":"10.18290/rt2023.9","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18290/rt2023.9","url":null,"abstract":"The recently canonised Dutch Carmelite Titus Brandsma (1881–1942), World War II martyr, mystic, Catholic journalist and historian of spirituality, was also – what is less known – a talented poet. The article recalls his early occasional poetry, written in Dutch and Frisian between 1898 and 1906 for members of his immediate family. Its literary characteristics are presented, demonstrating that this poetry is a valuable testimony to the saint’s views on human life from an eschatological perspective, including topics on the family, marriage, and the relationship between children and parents. This justifies recognising St. Titus Brandsma’s occasional poetry as an expression of his unique poetic theology of the family. Due to their importance, this is why the sacred petroglyphs were chosen as the topic of our research. {"title":"La Santissima Trinità è “democratica”? La dottrina di Dio e le dottrine socio-politiche","authors":"Dariusz Kowalczyk","doi":"10.18290/rt2023.11","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18290/rt2023.11","url":null,"abstract":"L’autentica fede in Dio, rivelatoci in Gesù Cristo, è una fede incarnata che, in qualche modo, unisce le cose dell’al dì là con le esperienze di questo mondo. La teologia politica ha come obiettivo di riflettere sul come la riflessione teologica può o dovrebbe influire sulla vita socio-politica. Il monoteismo teologico è stato usato, nel passato, per giustificare e rafforzare il potere degli imperatori. Tali tentativi hanno purtroppo portato, a volte, ad abusare della dottrina cristiana a favore della politica. Una possibilità per correggere la prospettiva della teologia politica è stata ricavata dalla teologia trinitaria, cioè dalla verità che in Dio l’unità va sempre insieme alla diversità. Dio non è solo uno ma è anche trino, cioè costituisce una comunità di uguaglianza e alterità. Possiamo, allora, individuare uno stile trinitario che potrebbe essere applicabile anche alle dottrine socio-politiche moderne. Si deve, però, ricordare che come ci sono state delle indubbie esagerazioni nel voler giustificare teologicamente le monarchie, esse ci possono essere anche nell’individuare ed indicare delle analogie tra la dottrina trinitaria e i sistemi democratici.
