It is one of the four treatment modalities (the other being surgery, radiation therapy, and biotherapy) that provide cure, control, or palliation. Cytotoxic drugs are used in the therapy of various neoplastic conditions, organ transplantation, and collagen vascular disorders and are used in oncology, radiotherapy, transplant, and immunology units.. Nurses must be aware of the safe handling of chemotherapeutic drugs, which include assessment of drug preparation, administration and disposal. Methodology: A Pre-Experimental study following one pre-test post-test design was used. Participant’s data was collected from 40 students of Bsc(N) 4th year students using purposive sampling technique. Knowledge was assessed by using structured knowledge questionnaire. Conclusion: Data was analyzed using SPSS 16. The t test analysis showed a significant difference before and after the administration of structured teaching program on knowledge regarding safe handling of chemotherapy drugs (t=16.580 and p= 0.000) at 0.05 level of significance.","PeriodicalId":479950,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135022405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although 450000 women die annually from it, this fact is unknown to many women. Because heart disease is frequently preventable, increasing awareness of personal risk and preventative measures is a key element of healthcare for women. Nurse clinicians can evaluate, educate, and counsel women regarding their risk for this pervasive disease and promote behaviour changes that will decrease that risk. The present investigation was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of empowerment programme on cardiac health among the premenopausal women’s and to find out an association between pre-test knowledge scores with selected demographic variables among premenopausal women. The research design used in the study was pre–experimental one group pre-test post-test and non-probability convenient sampling technique was used to draw sample. The data was collected from 100 premenopausal women using the structured knowledge questionnaire. Empowerment programme was conducted and post-test was administered after 7days using the same structured knowledge questionnaire to find out the effectiveness of empowerment programme. The results revealed that the overall mean percentage knowledge score in the pre-test and post-test were 35.70% and 61.22% respectively. Enhancement mean percentage knowledge score was found to be 25.52%. The statistical paired ‘t’ test (t= 47.74) indicates that enhancement in the mean percentage knowledge score was found to be significant at 0.05 level for all the aspects under study. The association found to be significant between pre-test knowledge scores & selected socio demographic variables such as age, educational status, occupation, history of diabetes mellitus and information about cardiac disease at 0.05 levels (P< 0.05). There is no significant association between pre-test knowledge score and demographical variable such as religion, income, marital status and family history of cardiac disease.","PeriodicalId":479950,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135022139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes like nutrition, immunization, rest and sleep, personal hygiene and exercise. During pregnancy the specific discomforts can be relieved by doing regular antenatal exercises. Objectives: Effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge and attitude regarding antenatal exercises among antenatal mothers. Design: Quasi-experimental of one group pretest-posttest design was adopted for this study. Setting: Antenatal clinic at Adiparasakthi hospital and research institute, Melmaruvattur. Participants: 60 Antenatal mothers from 16-40 weeks of gestational age fulfilling the inclusion criteria were selected by simple random sampling. Methods: A planned teaching programme was conducted for 45 minutes after pre test. Audio visual aids related to antenatal exercises were demonstrated to the antenatal mothers with the help of B.SC (N) final year students. After 7 days of STP, post test was conducted with the same questionnaire for the same group of mothers. The collected data were tabulated, analysed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: In the post test knowledge out of 60 antenatal mothers, 80% had acquired adequate knowledge, and 78% of them had good attitude in post-test. The paired t-test showed that the teaching programme was statistically significant at p<0.05 level. The knowledge of antenatal mothers has been markedly increased after structured teaching programme. The chi-square test showed a significant association between knowledge and attitude of antenatal mothers with their demographic variables.","PeriodicalId":479950,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"188 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135022125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CVD includes coronary artery diseases (CAD) such as angina and myocardial infarction (commonly known as a heart attack). Other CVDs include stroke, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, It is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Adolescents are exposed to multiple risk factors which makes them highly prone towards CVD at a younger age. Objectives of the study are: To identify the existing knowledge of students regarding cardiovascular health problems and its prevention in selected College of Bhubaneswar, To administer structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding cardiovascular health problems and its prevention in College students, To compare the pre test and post test level of knowledge score of the students. To associate the post-test level of knowledge score of students with their selected demographic variable. A Pre experimental One group pre test post test design was used to conduct this study. A pre and post test frequency distribution of College students regarding selected cardiovascular health problems and its prevention was found by 3 point rating scale in which 80% of college students had poor knowledge in pre test and 58.33% of College students had good knowledge in post test. The pre test mean knowledge scores among college students was 12.08, whereas post test mean knowledge scores was 32.38. The p is 2.00 (p>0.0.5).
