Students' success in the study of computer science is influenced by a variety of factors outside of the curriculum and instructional methods. Two significant elements that have drawn attention in the education sector are the personalities of teachers and parental involvement. These factors play a significant role in how children learn, act, and succeed academically as a whole. To determine the effects of teachers' personalities and parental influences on senior secondary school computer science students' performance, this study was designed. The research employed a mixed-methods strategy that includes both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to collect information from a representative sample of the targeted demographic. A total of 150 respondents, including 100 students and 50 teachers, were chosen at random from five senior secondary schools to make up the study's sample. Four research questions and two research hypotheses served as the study's guiding principles. Data were gathered using a self-structured questionnaire the researcher constructed based on perceptions of students and teachers that examined how parents and teachers might influence students' academic progress in computer science. The four (4) research questions that were posed for the study were evaluated using descriptive statistical methods such as mean and standard deviation, whereas the two study hypotheses were evaluated using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) index coefficient using SPSS Version 23 at the 0.05 level of significance. The results of this study showed that factors such as teachers' academic backgrounds, personalities, and parents' socioeconomic level have an impact on students' academic success in computer science. The study's findings also indicated a correlation between parents' socioeconomic level and their children's academic success and between the qualifications of teachers and students' academic success. As a result, it was recommended among other things, that teachers be encouraged to pursue higher education because doing so will have a significant impact on how they instruct their students.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"293 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135193438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a misconstruction that PPPs are streamlined to a single functioning of developing and improving infrastructure yet this strategy can be adopted to integrate PPP for sustainable skills development in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) with a view of responding to the labour market demand realities. Using a mixed methods approach the study sought to establish the feasibility of PPPs for sustainable skills development in TVET by soliciting data from institutions of higher learning and industry. A simple random sampling of 5 TVET institutions and 10 lecturers,5 administrators, and 5 captains of industry were purposively sampled to respond and participate in the study respectively. The data were descriptively and thematically analyzed for a balanced view of the findings. The results revealed that TVET institutions did not consider PPPs as a strategy for sustainable skills development for employability. Also established was policy inconsistency at the government level which hampers possibilities of partnerships in skills development. The results further show that industry plays an important role in skills development through internship, traineeship, and on-the-job education and training. The study recommended government through the relevant ministry and agents expedite the PPPs policy framework to include skills development as a standalone component. There is a need for government to incentivise private sector players to have PPPs in sustainable skills development for increased return on investment and subsequently economic growth.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135958418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two hundred (200) chicks (day-old) of mixed sex was randomly allotted to five dietary treatments (T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5) supplemented with enzyme complex (Kingzyme®) at the levels of 0.0g, 0.2g, 0.5g, 0.8g and 1.1g kg per Kg of feed respectively in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Each treatment was replicated four (4) times to contain ten (10) birds each. Feed and water were provided ad libitum accompanied with standard management procedures for eight weeks. At end of the experiments, eight (8) birds whose body weights are closest to the mean of the group was randomly selected from each treatment (two (2) per replicate) and was fasted overnight to reduce the gut contents and carcass contamination. The birds for each replicate was weighed to determine the live body weight, followed by slaughtering, bleeding, bled weight determination, scalding and wet plucking. The plucked weight was determined followed by evisceration, dressed weight and weighing of internal organs. The weight of the internal organs and length of small, large intestines and caecum was determined. The weights of the internal organ were expressed as the percentage of the dressed weight. Data were analyzed using Statitix Analytical Software, Version 10; and the treatment means were compared using Turkey HSD. There was no significant (P < 0.05) difference across the treatment groups for feed intake and growth performance at both starter and finisher phases respectively. Similarly, carcass characteristics showed no significant (P < 0.05) difference across the dietary treatments. Lungs, gizzard and proventriculus was significantly (P < 0.05) affected across the dietary treatments. Based on the result of the study, it was concluded that Red Sorghum-based diet supplemented with enzyme complex (Kingzyme®) do not have any significant effect on feed intake and growth performance of broiler chickens but can change some internal organs weights especially the lungs, gizzards and proventriculus.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135958990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aimed to examine the library staff's work adjustments during the new normal and its implications on their job involvement. An adapted research questionnaire was utilized which was distributed to ninety-five (95) library staff of a state university library in Mindanao and selected private and public libraries in the Islamic City of Marawi and Iligan City. Using the descriptive correlational research design, the study utilized descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation to organize the data on the participants' work adjustment and job involvement and regression analysis to ascertain if there is a significant influence of work adjustment on their job involvement. Findings show that the level of work adjustment and job involvement among library staff members was generally high during the new normal. The library staff's level of adjustment significantly influenced their job involvement implying that library staff who have higher work adjustments also tend to have higher job involvement. In light of these findings, this study points to the need to conduct empirical studies concerning types of library processes that have been redesigned technology and automation are being leveraged, how the library staff are adjusting, and how the community is responding.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135958982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study adopted the quasi-experimental research design of the survey type. The following instrument was developed by the researcher and used for the study, namely: Scaffolding Learning Strategy Guide and Lecture Note (SLSG), Conventional Method Guide and Lecture Note (CMG), Attitude to Cybercrime Prevention Scale (ACPS) and Computer Literacy Test (CLT). The participants for this study were selected using multistage sampling procedure. The first stage involved the use of simple random sampling technique to select three universities (one university for each learning strategy) in the region i.e. Southwest, Nigeria. This was followed by the use of purposive sampling technique to select the department of Social Studies education in each of the universities was selected. Consequently, intact class in each of the selected universities was used alongside three research assistants and three lecturers of the department. The data obtained through the administration of the instruments was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. All the hypotheses were tested and decisions were taken at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that Scaffolding Learning Strategy (SLS) has no effect on the attitude of Social Studies Pre-service Teachers’ attitude to cybercrime prevention, teachers’ gender does not affect their attitude towards cybercrime prevention and computer literacy does not influence the attitude of social studies pre-service teachers to cybercrime prevention. Therefore, it was recommended that the use of instructional strategies should be well articulated so as to bring about change in the attitude of the learners, gender of the learners should not be seen as factor affecting the attitude of learners towards learning. Hence, during teaching, teachers should give room for gender disparity among the learners and emphasis should be place on the computer literacy of learners. That is, learners should be encouraged to have knowledge of the use of computers in teaching and learning process.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135484887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prior to western education, the Africans have developed a robust knowledge about the dynamics of conflicts and they have had institutionalized means of resolving their conflicts. In the present dispensation, however, the phrase ‘Traditional Arbitration Institutions’ has been given prejudiced responses by the westerners who dominated the study of peace with their scholarly works and claimed a monopolized knowledge of peace. Premised on this background, this paper focuses attention on exposing the systematic knowledge of Africans about disputes and conflicts resolution, using Nigeria as area of study; the paper discusses the conceptual meaning of Traditional Arbitration Institutions (TAI) and conflict resolution; the study seeks to identify and examine the roles of Traditional Arbitration Institutions in promotion of conflict resolution in Nigeria society. In addition, it examines various Traditional Arbitration Institutions (TAI) conflict resolutions mechanism and approaches put in place in resolving disputes and conflicts in Nigeria. The research methodology employed in the study is mixed methods which involves qualitative and quantitative research technique. This work adopted Traditional Arbitration Theory. The paper observes that there is a need for engaging Traditional Arbitration Institutions in resolving community and industrial based disputes and separatist’s agitation in Nigeria. The paper concludes by recommending various Traditional Arbitration strategies that can be adopted to complement existing efforts of promoting peace and stability in Africa.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135484882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
