A considerable amount of burden on the caregivers often leads to display of certain attitudes towards persons with severe mental illness called expressed emotion, which then leads to poor quality of patients as well. Although numerous studies dealing with these issues separately are present, but studies dealing with relationship, using mixed methodology, among these issues are scarce. Adherence to a drug regime is a significant issue in the clinical management of schizophrenia. A study of adherence in bipolar disorder showed that slightly more than one-half of the patients studied were fully adherent, 20% were partially adherent, and nearly 30% were non-adherent. Risk factors for non-adherence in this group included younger age, minority status, substance abuse, and homelessness (Shehu, et al., 2019). This study assessed and Analysis on the predictors of good knowledge of medication Adherence among care- givers of patients with Schizophrenia in some selected Hospital of Jigawa State, Nigeria. A quasi-experimental psycho-educational intervention study was conducted with before and after design among care givers of patients with Schizophrenia in some selected hospitals of Jigawa State, Nigeria. The study population comprised all the eligible care- givers of patients with schizophrenia within the study area, who were selected and agreed to participate in the study. A sample size of one hundred and thirty participants each for both the experimental and control groups were selected using a multistage sampling technique. Data was collected using Questionnaire Data collected was coded, entered, and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22. After adjusting for the confounding effects using logistic regression analysis; type of treatment (ECT) was found to be negative predictors of good knowledge on medication adherence to treatment among study participants (AOR=0.50, 95%CI=0.27 – 0.85). While, cost of treatment of more than one thousand five hundred naira per day (AOR=2.5, 95%CI=2.11 – 8.33), combination of drugs and ECT (AOR=3.01, 95%CI=1.85 – 14.76), presence of side effects (AOR=4.00, 95%CI=2.05-21.55) and monthly income (AOR=3.00, 95%CI=1.01-15.88) were positive predictors of good knowledge on medication adherence among the study participants in the experimental groupSocial support had a significant correlation with caregivers' QoL. Caregivers should be encouraged to request assistance from other family members and friends in providing care, especially when caregivers are unemployed or long-time carers. Mental health education campaigns and helping families to maintain and enhance a supportive social network may provide useful means to improve caregivers.

Utilizing predetermined criteria, eligible studies were found, which led to the inclusion of studies carried out in various Ethiopian regions. A thorough quality assessment was done to make sure the chosen studies were reliable. Maternal mortality rates, primary and secondary risk variables, and systemic, socioeconomic, and cultural factors influencing maternal mortalities were all extracted from the data from these studies.In Ethiopia, the research found large regional variations in maternal mortality rates, with obstructed labor, postpartum hemorrhage, and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy emerging as the main risk factors. Disparities in education, age, living in remote areas, and restricted access to antenatal care services were secondary concerns. Notably, limited antenatal care services, rural residence, young maternal age, and a lack of education were linked to increased maternal death rates.The ongoing problem of maternal mortality in Ethiopia is highlighted by this systematic review. Even though there have been gains, particularly in metropolitan areas, there are still significant regional differences. Increasing access to high-quality healthcare, especially in rural areas, boosting education, and increasing the use of antenatal care are just a few of the multidimensional initiatives needed to address maternal mortality. In order to minimize maternal mortality and ultimately move Ethiopia closer to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3, comprehensive and targeted policies must be put in place.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135251802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These stories are relevant to the teaching of skills in writing. Limited studies were found about the writing experiences of fanfiction writers. This study explored the experiences with the overarching question: What is fanfiction writing as a lived experience among fanfiction writers? A transcendental phenomenology design was used to explore these experiences. A three-phase phenomenological face-to-face interviews was conducted to collect the data. Informal conversations and observations were also held. Each interview was transcribed and sent back to each writer for checking and validation. Actual fanfiction works were also observed. From the data that were manually coded and categorized, three themes emerged from the eight categories such as outpouring and relief, transformation and connection, and development and motivation. Fanfiction writers write to express themselves as who they are including their feelings, their opinions, and their social interactions. Fanfiction writing also enables them to develop their skill and passion for writing. These experiences may help in skill-based teaching and learning especially in language classes.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135251803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study addresses three specific objectives: (i) examining the difference in attitudinal mean scores between students exposed to KPS and those using conventional methods in Biology, (ii) analyzing gender-based variations among students using the KPS method, and (iii) evaluating differences in attitudinal mean scores between students in rural and urban schools using the KPS strategy. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, control group structure was employed, involving an experimental group using the KPS technique and a control group using traditional methods. The study's population comprised Senior Secondary School Two (SSS II) students enrolled in Biology courses at public secondary schools in Ondo State. The sample included 139 SSS II students from six public schools, selected through a multistage sampling procedure. Data were collected using the Students' Attitude Towards Biology Scale (SATBS). The results revealed a significant difference in attitudinal mean scores between students exposed to KPS and those using conventional methods, with the KPS group exhibiting a more positive attitude toward Biology. However, no significant gender-based differences were observed among students using the KPS method, and there were no significant variations in attitudinal mean scores based on geographical location. In conclusion, the implementation of the Kolawole Problem Solving approach positively influenced students' attitudes toward Biology, without gender bias and regardless of location. This suggests the potential benefits of incorporating the KPS method into Biology curricula and providing comprehensive teacher training to effectively utilize this approach.","PeriodicalId":479838,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135193444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
