The wellbeing of workers in any organization is therefore very essential for effective performance. This study explores the psychological effects of job burnout on Technical Education lecturer’s job engagement and performance in Nigeria universities. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The study was guided by three research questions and two hypotheses were tested. Adapted validated scales were employed for data collection in the study with an overall reliability coefficient of .90. The population for the study comprised all Technical Education university lecturers in Nigeria. Data collected in the study was analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation (SD), Correlation matrix (Pearson Product Moment Correlation, PPMC), and Multiple regression analysis. The study found a moderate and positive correlation between job burnout and job engagement (r = 0.32; p ˃ 0.05), but a very low correlation between job engagement and performance (r = .01; p ˂ 0.05) among the lecturers. Furthermore, the study found that job burnout (β= .324; p ˃ 0.05) has a non-significant effect on lecturers’ job engagement but a significantly negative psychological effect (β= -.651; p ˂ 0.05) on their job performance. It was concluded that job burnout contributes in no small measure to stress of the lecturers which seemingly has undesired implications on their levels of job engagement and performance. It was therefore recommended that university management teams across the country as well as important stakeholders in the education sector should pay rapt attention to Technical Education lecturers’ wellbeing by introducing measures and work strategies which could reduce job burnout and relatively low stress experience at work.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"253 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136009906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two research questions guided the study while four null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. A descriptive survey design was adopted. A total of 219 Computer Science Educators from 10 Colleges of Education in South-South, Nigeria made up the population of the study. There was no sampling as the population size was manageable by the researcher. A structured 20-item validated questionnaire was used for data collection. Three experts validated the instrument and an overall reliability correlation co-efficient of 0.79 was obtained using Cronbach Alpha method. Out of the 219 copies of the instrument distributed, 210 copies were successfully retrieved and used for data analysis. Data related to the research questions were analyzed using mean and standard deviation while z-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses. The findings from the study revealed that blended learning tools were utilized as e-learning teaching strategies but to a moderate extent, while telecommunication was utilized to a small extent. The study also revealed that type of ownership of institutions i.e., state or federal, do not significantly affect the utilization of e-learning teaching strategies (blended learning and telecommunication) by Computer Science Educators in Colleges of Education in South-South, Nigeria. It was concluded that Computer Science Educators utilized blended learning tools as teaching strategies to a moderate extent as a result of insufficient training and retraining given to them, but telecommunication tools were utilized to small extent. To encourage the use of e-learning teaching strategies by Computer Science Educators, it was recommended, among others, that Computer Science Educators should develop themselves by way of in-service training. They should also constantly use e-learning tools provided by the government through the administrators of institutions in carrying out their teaching tasks.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136054469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the areas of attendance, enrollment, drop-out rates, facilitation effectiveness, level of involvement, conversation quality, time management, teaching aids content and quality of primer, other literacy materials/tools, and the overall output of the literacy programme are all factors to take into consideration in measuring the performance of adult literacy facilitators. More so, strategies such as the capacity to ask focused and related questions and the ability to repeat what has been heard, are among the skills to utilize. Also, the ability to determine the learners’ level of happiness and whether or not some learners are dominating the class. More still, focus, attentive listening, recording, and capacity to draw attention to important issues, identify differences, and emphases are all required to accurately assess the facilitator’s work. In addition to the aforementioned, this paper offered insight into the key duties of adult facilitators, such as fostering trust and safety among learners, appreciating and valuing each learner’s contributions, assisting learners in directing their interactions, learning, and teamwork, aiding learners in fine-tuning learning objectives, encouraging and involving all learners in the learning process, and helping learners overcome internal barriers or challenges, demonstration of instructional competency, motivating abilities, communication abilities, attitude toward learners and impartiality in grading being key factors of measuring the performance of literacy facilitators through adult literacy classroom observation by the center organizer(s), Learner’s evaluation of their tutor, gathering data from other facilitators at the center, surveys from well-known local leaders and self-evaluation of the individual facilitators.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136009793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is done by considering the responsibility of the great commission to disciple and the fact that Muslim converts need special attention in terms of discipleship for proper and sound church integration, which helps them become stable Christians. This situation is particular to but not limited to churches in North-East Nigeria. To achieve this, the writer employed the descriptive method for the study. Findings revealed that the role of Christian education is paramount to the physical and spiritual growth of Muslim converts and to integrate them into the church through engaging discipleship, which consists of the practical and biblical orientation of love, service, worship, proclamation, and advocacy, which are the tasks of Christian education according to Pazmino. This writer concludes that discipleship is a responsibility following salvation of individuals and groups to enhance the belief of Muslim converts. Moreover, there is no other option than for Christian educators in the church to care and teach with relevant resources considering the situation and the understanding of the Muslim converts who see the church as a community where they can love and be loved. This writer hereby recommends that churches in this changing world should be prepared for Muslims who will come to Jesus Christ and not wait until they come before thinking of what to do.","PeriodicalId":479772,"journal":{"name":"Edumania-An International Multidisciplinary Journal","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136056464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
