Locally led development (LLD) emerged as a panacea for development ineffectiveness across successive policy paradigms from the Washington Consensus to the Wall Street Consensus. Why such a scalar reorientation is gaining renewed traction, whether this signals a substantive shift towards transformative change in how development is conceptualised and practiced, and how this will influence the development paradigm, remains underexplored. To address these questions, this paper critically analyses the policies and practices of thirty-two institutional donors to assess the extent to which localisation and LLD are recognised and operationalised, enabled and constrained in practice. This paper highlights the often-overlooked digital divide within international research teams and examines how systematically creating a collaborative plan and process that addresses use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) within research teams can improve inclusion, particularly for researchers with disabilities, from different geographic locations and income levels. We used a cross-sectional, mixed methods, participatory research approach to collect data from members of the PIRL Project, who lived primarily in North America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Members included community and academic researchers, some with disabilities, low incomes, and differing educational and employment backgrounds, all with a shared objective to collaboratively improve research capabilities. Mitigation strategies to overcome digital divide inequities included collaborative ICT planning, use of smartphones, free apps, and training. It examines how enduring colonial mechanisms and biases have led to certain forms of value and valuing, problematic views of 'pristine nature' and processes of extractivism. These in turn have led to dispossession and violence, especially for Indigenous and marginalised communities in the majority world. It explores how studies on the environment and sustainability have sought to implicitly or explicitly challenge these colonial biases and their impacts. Researchers working on the environment, gender and sustainability have brought together Development Studies (DS) with science technology studies (STS), (feminist) political ecology, anthropology and feminist epistemology. This has resulted in strong engagements with the politics of knowledge, the colonial roots of environmental problems and the need to lift the perspectives and voices of historically marginalised groups to promote alternative ways of doing and understanding development and nature/society relations. Researchers working in other fields of DS could do more to draw on these diverse perspectives, especially since epistemic and material inequalities and power structures are interlinked and mutually reinforcing. Through long-term qualitative fieldwork in three landlocked LDCs—Nepal, Rwanda and Laos—resulting in over 150 interviews, we found expansions of the three analysed capabilities: paid work, mobility and social relations. Yet, those improvements were characterised by precariousness: they were mostly not resilient in the face of the economic and environmental risks that high-value agriculture entails. The only example of a durable capability expansion was found in Nepal, where women claimed social spaces through collective organisation. All three study sites showed remarkable consistency in that the considerable risk involved in cash crop production was mainly borne by farmers and rural labourers. It draws on mixed-methods data collected in 2019/2020 in three diverse rural regions. This includes surveys completed by 5539 girls and boys as well as 819 qualitative interviews with adolescents, caregivers, community members, and service providers. We find that threats to adolescents’ bodily integrity are shaped by a complex interplay of age, gender, and socio-cultural environment. Girls are less able than boys to enjoy freedom of movement and control over their bodies, and age-related violence is often deeply gendered in ways that are context specific. Differences in service provisioning augment already large gaps between adolescents in different regions. Peternakan ayam ras dalam penelitian ini merupakan peternakan yang terdiri dari peternakan ayam petelur (layer) dan ayam pedaging (broiler). Diantara 100 respon diketahui bahwa 82 responden atau 1.700 skor pada kategori Terganggu. Tingginya skor tersebut disebabkan karena sebagian besar masyarakat merasa terganggu dengan bau yang ditimbulkan dari peternakan ayam ras petelur tersebut. Sementara untuk pencemaran air diantara 100 respon diketahui bahwa 83 responden atau 1.660 skor pada Kategori sangat terganggu. Tingginya skor tersebut disebabkan karena sebagian besar masyarakat merasa terganggu dengan pencemaran air yang ditimbulkan dari peternakan ayam ras petelur tersebut. Untuk dampak limbah menunjukkan bahwa total skor untuk sub variabel limbah diperoleh 4005 berada pada kategori Terganggu meskipun demikian dari indikator yang terdiri dari ditumpuk dikolam pembuangan maupun dan kurangnya kebersihan. Tingginya skor tersebut disebabkan karena sebagian besar masyarakat merasa terganggu dengan pengelolaan limbah yang masih kurang bagus karena fesesnya hanya dibiarkan pembuanganya saja yang ditimbulkan dari peternakan ayam tersebut. menunjukkan bahwa jumlah skor 8.034 termasuk kategori terganggu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Analisis data primer dengan menggunakan model analisis pertama terdiri dari analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Model analisis kedua menggunakan model persamaan regresi berganda. Adapun hasil analisis adalah pertama hasil kualitas pelayanan pada Cafe Kopi Janji Jiwa Sipin ditinjau dari dimensi wujud (Tangible), keandalan (Reliability), Tanggap (Responsiveness), Jaminan (Assurance), empati (Empathy) memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan. Kedua, variabel Wujud (Tangible), Keandalan (Reliability), Tanggap (Responsiveness), Jaminan (Assurance), Empati (Empathy) berkorelasi terhadap kepuasan pelanggan yaitu sebesar 72,0%, dan mempengaruhi tingkat kepuasan pelanggan pada cafe kopi janji jiwa sipin sebesar 51,8 %.
