Taking an emic perspective, a qualitative research methodology is used to analyze interview responses from knowledge workers. Our findings support the notion that employees use strategies similar to those encapsulated in Mitchell et al.’s (1997) operationalization of stakeholder salience when evaluating an email's importance and/or urgency. Results from this study can be used to design email policies to support knowledge worker performance.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"40 1","pages":"18-32"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50147155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this negative relationship turns out to be moderated by natural resource endowment and democratic governance. We conducted 13 one-on-one semi-structured interviews with informants 50 years or older in a metropolitan area in Canada and used a deductive approach to analyze the qualitative data. Aging consumers in this study focused on two-channel shopping: brick-and-mortar and online stores. Participants emphasized the interactive engagement with sales associates, window shopping, and people-watching as benefits of the brick-and-mortar experience, in addition to shopping as a tool for socialization and risk-avoidance. For online shopping, participants underscored convenience and also concerns about privacy, security, financial risk, and product quality. Results indicate retailers' transparent practices will contribute to older adults' shopping well-being.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"39 2","pages":"168-183"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133206730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We analyze how business resources and consumer resources influence individual and collective value-in-use via the causal mechanisms of resource integration capability and relationship integration capability. The study surveys 511 respondents in the greater Taipei area and employs a structural equation model to examine eight hypotheses. The results show that the main causal path was that consumer resources had a positive impact on relationship integration capability. Relationship integration capability showed a primarily positive impact on collective value-in-use.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"40 1","pages":"67-82"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50131474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A two-round Delphi study was conducted among 28 teleworkers and 22 managers. A list of 60 specific management practices was presented and participants had to identify whether each one could be used in the current remote working context and, if so, how useful it was to promote psychological health at work. Results indicate that most specific management practices usually used in a face-to-face setting can also be used in a remote context (85%). Practices that show consideration, establishing work structure, and allowing flexibility were also identified as the most useful to promote remote workers' psychological health during the pandemic. This study contributes to the advancement of knowledge about specific management practices, remote working, and crisis management. It also suggests specific practices that managers can adopt to promote the psychological health of their employees during a period of crisis, even while managing from a distance.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"40 1","pages":"6-17"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/cjas.1664","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50121662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Public value is a multidimensional concept of the impact of a public organization on its audiences. Using action research at Radio-Canada, we hybridize conceptual models of public values from the literature with four practical models from public broadcasters, then we triangulate these results with our analyses of the Canadian public broadcaster's internal data to propose a new measurement model for Radio-Canada’s public value. This model illustrates and communicates the dynamic yet imperfect alignment between the public values served and the public value created. Our main contribution is the reconciliation of public value management with the public values perspective.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"39 3","pages":"293-312"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123716854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To date, the previous research examining the industry shift focused on consumer-based decisions such as whether to download music illegally, and, more recently, experiences with streaming services. Using sensemaking as our lens, we examine changes and challenges through in-depth interviews with music industry practitioners. The participants have been directly impacted by the digital shift in general and by specific issues such as piracy and poor compensation from streaming platforms. We develop a typology of industry members based on their development of sensemaking capabilities as they navigate the ever-changing industry and the resulting influence on market practices.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"39 2","pages":"135-150"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124970443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopting a time-lagged research design (three time lags), we collected data from 288 employees from the service sector in Pakistan. Using Process technique, our findings showed that revenge mediated the destructive leadership and outcomes relationship. We also found that the impact of destructive leadership on revenge was more substantial for individuals having high Dark Triad personality. The results supported our moderated mediation hypothesis, proving that revenge mediates the relationship between destructive leadership and outcomes for individuals with a high Dark Triad Personality.
","PeriodicalId":47349,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences-Revue Canadienne Des Sciences De L Administration","volume":"39 2","pages":"213-230"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2022-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132600664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
