The act aims to integrate strategies for promoting mental health in educational institutions, workplaces, and communities. When managing school discipline, some challenges may arise while implementing and adhering to specific systems. These challenges may negatively impact the school’s inclusivity and require some reforms. That’s why the school’s administrators and the relationships between students and adults hold a significant role in promoting better management of disciplinary cases. Adopting a positive approach that factors in their emotional and social competencies is imperative to manage disciplinary matters with students effectively. A group of 16 Student Discipline Investigating Discipline Officers (IDOs) participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss how they handle students with disciplinary issues, including those with special needs. The study investigated how cases involving students with mental health issues are managed. It identified factors, gaps, strengths, and areas for improvement. It has been determined that establishing a protocol for students with mental health issues is vital, and the service provider (SDFO) will play a critical role in this process.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135497738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used descriptive and explanatory research techniques, and its 156 target participants were project officers and young people. To create a sample of 156 respondents, a census was done. For this investigation, both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. Based on the objectives, the researcher used descriptive statistics to examine the quantitative data and content analysis to assess the qualitative data. To evaluate the accuracy and dependability of the research tools, a pilot study was carried out. Data was collected through questionnaires, and then entered into the 25th version of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for analysis. Tables, frequencies, percentages, averages, and standard deviation were used to present the investigated quantitative results. The study discovered that financial management abilities had a positive and significant impact on how well youth economic empowerment projects performed. The study suggests that the national government put policy into effect by establishing rules and regulations for how to include young people in mentoring initiatives in order to increase their efficiency in project financial management and serve as a means of performance assurance.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136208678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas globally scholarly attention on youth and drug and substance abuse is remarkable, in Zimbabwe, lacunae are enduring. Informed by research with, by and for the youth, the article reconnoitres the diverse contextual factors leading to drug and substance abuse among youth, and proffers policy options for addressing the issues. Drug and substance abuse and the requisite policy responses defy brush painting, homogeneity and unilineality. While the government may take a central and oversight role, effective responses to youth drug and substance abuse demands a multi-stakeholder approach including youth, their representative organisations, families, communities, civil society organisations and the government.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136208654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrating a drama-based approach into the language classroom has the potential to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as presentation abilities in a varied manner. This study analyzes the advantages of incorporating drama techniques into teaching English language among tertiary level learners. It also focuses on the strategies for developing a learner-centered classroom to improve the communication abilities of second language learners. 11 students in their second year of English Language and Literature at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka, Bangladesh, were the participants of this case study. The study is conducted using qualitative research methodology. According to this study, drama-based English instruction has a positive impact on all aspects of growth—physical, emotional, social, and cognitive. It illuminates the strategy of placing students in authentic settings in order to help them uncover their latent creativity and overcome their anxieties. In addition, this drama-based approach is beneficial for learners to foster their sense of collaboration, conversation, negotiation, and performance.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136306559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Public Housing as social good which is targeted at the poor was highlighted. Income levels of residents of Owode Housing Estate and Ajoda Housing Estate was used in determination of the accessibility of Low income earners to Public Housing Estates. Descriptive statistics- frequency count was adopted in data analysis. The result shows that 73.4% and 37.15% of Owode and Ajoda Housing estate respectively are of low income cadre. The study therefore concluded that Owode housing estate is accessible to low income earners while Ajoda Housing estate is inaccessible to low income earners. This implies that low income earners are been shortchanged in the provision of houses by government. It recommends strict screening of allotees of the housing estates to ensure they are occupied by intended users (low income earners) as government has no business in providing accommodation for the rich and high income groups.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136367251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, acquiring financial literacy is crucial for young people, as it equips them with the skills needed to autonomously and effectively manage financial matters in their future. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to evaluate the extent of financial literacy among 70 Grade 12 students during the School Year 2021-2022 at the Philippine Science High School-Ilocos Region Campus. To achieve this, a mixed methods research approach was employed, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative analyses. To collect data, an online survey, consisting of a financial literacy questionnaire, was administered through Messenger and Google Forms. The data obtained were subjected to various analytical methods, including content analysis, mean and percentage calculations, Likert scales, and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) with the Wilks’ test. The results unveiled that the students possess a satisfactory level of knowledge and confidence when it comes to financial matters and transactions. Furthermore, the outcomes of the MANOVA analysis indicated that there is no significant overall correlation between the students’ gender and their scholarship categorization concerning their financial literacy levels. It is recommended that future studies consider increasing the sample size and adjusting the sampling methodology to enhance the precision of the results, particularly in investigating the potential links between scholarship categorization, gender, and students’ financial literacy levels. Additionally, incorporating interviews as a research method could provide further insights beyond the scope of survey responses.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136367274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Individuals’ understandings of their thought processes as well as monitoring their progress is fundamental for deepening learners’ understanding and that may lead to improved performance. The overall students’ performance in mathematics at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has been low compared to other subjects. Students’ knowledge of facts and skills need to occur in the context of a meaningful and conceptual framework of subject matter that deepens learners’ understanding. The purpose of the study was to investigate effect of Metacognitive awareness on secondary school students’ achievement in mathematics. The Research employed a Quasi-experimental design and in particular Solomon, Four Design. A stratified random sampling technique was used to draw four boys’ and four girls’ extra county participating secondary schools. Assignment of the four schools in each category to either experimental or control group was done through simple random sampling. A sample size of 360 Form three students was used. Students in the experimental groups were taught Formulae and Variations using Metacognitive IMPROVE programme while control groups were taught the same topic using Conventional Teaching Approach (CTA). The instrument for data collection used was metacognitive Awareness Inventory Questionnaire (MAIQ). The overall reliability coefficient of MAIQ using Cronbach alpha obtained was 0.754. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, percentages and Standard Deviation) and inferential statistics (test, one-way ANOVA and Post hoc Analysis). The hypotheses was tested at 0.05 level of significance. Data analysis was undertaken with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 software. The results showed that students’ Metacognitive awareness resulted to students’ development of the skills of planning, monitoring and evaluating about their own cognitive activities and monitoring the approach they expected to be important for problem solving. The study recommends that teachers should organize the course contents to increase cognitive awareness of the students. Higher cognitive awareness demonstrates high levels of mathematics achievement therefore teacher proficiency need to be adjusted for better teaching and learning.","PeriodicalId":470186,"journal":{"name":"International journal of research and innovation in social science","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135212830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the scholarly numerous perspectives offered on Paṭiccasamuppāda, the Paṭṭhāna viewpoint has received less attention on it. It remains challenging to comprehend relationship between upādāna and bhava from Paṭṭhāna perspective. For instance, Paṭiccasamuppāda cannot provide the satisfied answer to how upādāna as unwholesome consciousness conditions wholesome kamma without help of Paṭṭhāna. There are several conditions in which upādāna cause bhava: kammabhava and upapattibhava from the Paṭṭhāna perspective. It is apparent that Paṭṭhāna supplements Paṭiccasamuppāda according to Visuddhimagga, which express twelve links of Paṭiccasamuppāda in conjunction with Paṭṭhāna. But a brief mention is found that Visuddhimagga asserts that eight out of twenty-four relations in Paṭṭhāna such as upanissaya, sahajāta, aññamañña, nissaya, sampayutta, atthi, avigata and hetu are applied between upādāna and bhava. Moreover, these relations have not been extensively analyzed and examined in sense of their relevance to upādāna and bhava. Therefore, the researcher’s aim here was to examine eight relations and their application between upādāna and bhava with special reference to Paṭṭhāna. This study claimed that Paṭṭhāna provides the understanding of relationship between upādāna and bhava and, to some extent, clarifies the answer that Paṭiccasamuppāda cannot deliver as to the relationship.
