This was a cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational study which was conducted with 428 subjects between February and July 2021. A Descriptive Characteristics Form, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and the Work-Life Balance Scale (WLBS) were used to collect data. The findings of the study revealed that there was a statistically significant negative correlation between their total WLBS and MBI scores (P < 0.05). Participants' Work-Life Balance scores explained 28.5% of the variance in burnout levels (R 2= 0.285). Those who did not have to be away from their families during the pandemic had higher total WLBS scores than those who did. Those who received positive support from their families during the pandemic despite their heavy schedules were satisfied with their jobs and unit, and moreover had statistically higher total WLBS scores and statistically lower total MBI scores compared to the others. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.","PeriodicalId":46911,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Healthcare Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41771395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study explored the driving and restraining factors influencing the implementation of accreditation standards in Saudi Arabian hospitals. Methods: A qualitative design using semi-structured in-depth interviews was employed. Twenty-seven hospital directors and 29 hospital quality directors were interviewed. Interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and thematically analyzed. A force-field analysis framework was adopted to present a visual picture of the various factors influencing the implementation of hospital accreditation standards. Results: The analysis yielded 42 driving and restraining factors affecting the implementation of accreditation standards. The main drivers identified were teamwork, the quality mindset of leaders and staff, employing a continuous readiness model, and commitment toward customers. By contrast, insufficient manpower, infrastructural gaps, workforce recruitment challenges, variability among surveyors, the COVID-19 pandemic, limited financial support, and bureaucratic decision-making procedures were the main reported restrainers. At the national level, perceived restrainers pose a serious challenge to compliance with the existing accreditation model. Conclusion: Exploring the factors affecting accreditation standards implementation assists in assessing accreditation readiness, helps to prioritize efforts to strengthen drivers and weaken restrainers, and contributes to the institutionalization of accreditation standards.","PeriodicalId":46911,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Healthcare Management","volume":"16 1","pages":"167 - 175"},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"60010153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce the health cost burden, the government of India has initiated many governments funded insurance schemes since 2000. Private health insurance also flourished, but the coverage is limited to wealthier households. Many researchers have published many scientific publications on this research domain, but the bibliometric analysis of scientific publications is missing. Methods: We have relied on the ‘SCOPUS' database for data collection based on the wider availability of literature. 761 documents extracted were journal articles, published between 2000 and 2021 followed by certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Biblioshiny package of R-Studio has been used for data analysis. Results: Our analysis reflect upon various aspects of Bibliographic analysis like number of articles published, cited, country wise scientific production etc. Our results also reflect on very few studies that relate to Poverty, income, young adults, aged, adolescents, and children, where there is further scope for research. Conclusion: We found that the health insurance-related publication rate has increased over the period. But it requires more research especially the implementation of health insurance mechanisms from the health system perspective. The study will be a policy document to find the research gaps in the healthcare insurance domain.","PeriodicalId":46911,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Healthcare Management","volume":"16 1","pages":"188 - 196"},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48944054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These challenges persist because either the factors that influence the implementation of the e-health solutions are not known or they remain speculative. Empirically, this study reveals the factors that influence the development of e-health solutions in the country. It is an interpretivist study in which the semi-structured interview technique was employed to collect data and relevant documents authored by different health stakeholders, such as Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and from public and private health facilities in the country were gathered. The activity theory (AT) underpins the study, meaning it guided the analysis, from which eight factors: (1) disparity, which affects transparency; (2) isolation; means that e-health solutions are currently stand-alone; (3) governance; which includes standardization, policies, and principles; (4) requirements that cover functions and technology specifications; (5) know-how; entails skillset and human capacity; (6) interoperability; exchange and information use between IT solutions; (7) synchronization of data and processes; and (8) heterogeneity were found to be the main influence on the implementation of e-health solutions in the country.","PeriodicalId":46911,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Healthcare Management","volume":"16 1","pages":"157 - 166"},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46164704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
