Post-intentional phenomenological reflexion on a bereavement experience and collaborative autoethnography provide avenues for continued evolution, multiple meanings, and becoming. This investigation draws from a collaborative autoethnography created during a family bereavement experience. A researcher participant and her family reflect on the loss of a family member one year after his death. This reflection of posttraumatic growth offers themes of healing and continued relationship after a death. This study explored first year counselor education doctoral students’ (n = 7) experiences of being interviewed with the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI; George et al. 1996) as a means of supporting self-awareness and fostering effective counselor-client working alliances. Four superordinate themes emerged: (a) reactions to the AAI interview process, (b) process with AAI feedback, (c) AAI and intrapersonal process, and (d) AAI and interpersonal process. Findings suggest that the AAI is an effective tool in supporting counselor self-awareness regarding attachment strategies and can provide multiple personal and professional benefits, such as increased awareness of conflict and stress management strategies. Implications for clinical practice, counselor education, and future research are discussed.KEYWORDS: counselor developmentattachmentperson of the counselorworking alliancecreativity in counseling Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Additional informationFundingThis work was supported by the None [None].","PeriodicalId":46212,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Creativity in Mental Health","volume":"240 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135395124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intermodal EXA provides opportunities for deepened processing moving beyond cognitive levels to include sensory, perceptual, and affective levels. Intermodal EXA results in development of internal resources, expanded perspectives, and strategies for problem-solving. Although EXA has an increasing body of literature, literature is limited for the application of intermodal expressive arts in individual supervision as a unique discipline among creative therapies. This article aims to inform counseling supervisors of the potential benefits of intermodal EXA individual supervision, including increased supervisee self-awareness, by providing an example of the application of EXA’s theory of practice to individual supervision.","PeriodicalId":46212,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Creativity in Mental Health","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136024016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
