McSweeney raises questions of ethically reconsidering Spain’s nineteenth-century political and economic instability and inability to protect its heritage against a fierce foreign art market. As ethical claims fall short of resolving legal claims, she argues that museums have a role in rethinking curatorial strategies for displaced, contentious objects. Indeed, recent efforts by museums to reorganize the display of their Islamic collections make their case to free objects from unitary modes of seeing and thinking, and instead provide distinct viewing and interpretive frames that cut across cultural spheres, societies, and geographies. In anticipation of the Berlin Museum für Islamische Kunst’s plans to display the cupola, expected in 2026, From Granada to Berlin could not be timelier. However, this paper demonstrates that the texts from these two manuscripts constitute coherent Vinaya compositions. The three layers of the handwriting of these two manuscripts were not written randomly, but exhibit clear-cut functions: while the larger Tibetan script, which was produced in a previous project, was used to write Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinaya commentaries, the smaller Tibetan script and the Chinese script were created as parts of the same bilingual project to provide different textual sources on the Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinaya texts. This combination of inclement weather and administrative dysfunction led to a series of famines. Although the famines were noted at the time, they were later forgotten in Tibetan narratives, and this is the first time that they are the subject of historical study. In this article we analyse the historical narratives of famine – found in biographies, histories and poems – and compare them with the region's paleoclimatic records, focusing particularly on changes in temperature and precipitation. We begin by discussing the famines’ climatic and political causes and their relationship to broader South and East Asian climatic- and famine-related events. We then outline the Tibetan religious, societal and government responses to these events. Several cellular functions of TA systems have been proposed however, their exact role in cellular physiology remains unresolved.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>This study aims to find out the impact of the mazEF toxin-antitoxin module on biofilm formation, pathogenesis, and antibiotic resistance in an isolated clinical ST239 MRSA strain, by constructing mazE and mazF mutants using CRISPR-cas9 base-editing plasmid (pnCasSA-BEC). Transcriptome analysis (RNA-seq) was performed for the mazE antitoxin mutant in order to identify the differentially regulated genes. The biofilm formation was also assessed for the mutant strains. Antibiogram profiling was carried out for both the generated mutants followed by murine experiment to determine the pathogenicity of the constructed strains.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>For the first time our work showed, that MazF promotes cidA mediated cell death and lysis for biofilm formation without playing any significant role in host virulence as suggested by the murine experiment. Interestingly, the susceptibility to oxacillin, daptomycin and vancomycin was reduced significantly by the activated MazF toxin in the mazE mutant strain.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Our study reveals that activated MazF toxin leads to resistance to antibiotics like oxacillin, daptomycin and vancomycin. In venous thromboembolism (VTE), MetS increases the risk of recurrence and severity of the post-pulmonary embolism syndrome, disproportionately affecting persons of color in urban settings. Exercise can positively modulate components of MetS. Our objective was to survey a sample of urban emergency department (ED) patients with MetS on their exercise habits and interest in increasing activity levels and to compare ± VTE patients. This survey study consisted of: (1) International Physical Activity Questionnaire, and (2) Likert scale gauging interest in increasing activity levels. Any adult ED patient with a composite MetS profile was included. We surveyed 247 patients with an average age of 59 years and 57% reported Black race. Only 9% met recommendations for vigorous exercise and 28% for moderate activity, with no significant difference in the 18% with prior VTE. Fifty-seven percent responded positively regarding motivation in increasing activity.
