The results show that the direct effect of academic support on academic self-efficacy was moderated by whether or not one has been diagnosed with COVID-19, but not by the indirect effect on academic satisfaction. Additionally, the results show that COVID-19 stress moderates the direct effect of academic self-efficacy on academic satisfaction and the indirect effect of academic support on academic satisfaction. Additionally, it explores the moderating role of perceived employability, considering the age and education level of employees. We carried out a study on a sample of 224 Chilean workers. Correlational statistical analysis and a multiple regression analysis were conducted to establish the moderation relationship between the intervening variables. Results support the role of uncertainty against Industry 4.0 as a predictor of quantitative (i.e., risk of job loss) but not qualitative job insecurity (i.e., risk of losing valued job features). Further, we found evidence for the importance of the education level of workers in the previously posed relationship. These findings have theoretical and practical implications given that the higher the education level of the worker, the higher their perceived employability, which acts as a personal resource that moderates and decreases their job insecurity perception. Thus, organizations should consider these factors when implementing new technological changes to facilitate the adaptation of workers.</p>","PeriodicalId":46036,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138534354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this review we target this issue, taking the contemporary theory of skills formation as a theoretical framework. Intrapersonal agency and motivational components, including educational aspirations, goal attainability, and investing in active efforts are protective factors for a successful school-to-work transition. Having an internal locus of control may help teenagers but might not compensate for a low socioeconomic status. Experiencing high-quality apprenticeships and internships could help teenagers find their vocational specificity. Large-scale intervention programs, promoting investment in human agency and motivation constitute a proper policy strategy.</p>","PeriodicalId":46036,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138534355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The importance of including young people in the sustainability process is recognized also by recent vocational guidance literature. Nevertheless, the assessment of the Sustainable Development Goals itself presents a challenge. For these reasons, we validated a specific assessment instrument to investigate adolescents’ propensity to point out how much each of the 2030 Agenda goals for sustainable development may affect their future design. This article reports the development and psychometric requisites of the “ Goals for Future Design of the 2030 Agenda.” The scale recalls the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The study involved 554 high school students. Initial exploratory factor analysis factorial structure showed a four-factor structure of the 17-item scale: (1) social/health, (2) environment/nature, (3) human rights/equal economic development, and (4) policy and democracy. A single-factor second-order structure also emerged from the confirmatory factor analysis. The results support the use of the scale in vocational guidance and career counselling activities to promote adolescents’ life design in a sustainable and inclusive way.","PeriodicalId":46036,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135394520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
