The boom in cul‑ tural tourism, as well as the use of museums as tourist resources, may be an opportunity for the Ministry of Defence museums to increase their audiences. The purpose of this work is to establish possible links between military museums and tourism in order to see if these institutions could benefit in the future from such a relationship. The research focused on the Automobile Museum of Torrejón de Ardoz as a model for this type of institution, analysing its current situation with respect to the public and the possibilities that it might offer with adequate tourism management. The methodology was based on questionnaires, interviews and direct observation, and may be applicable to other small and medium‑sized museum institutions with low demand. Among the main conclusions we have reached, we would like to highlight that there are many improvements that should be introduced by this type of museum, if they are really interested in increasing the number and di‑ versity of visitors, opening up to tourism and thus transmitting an idea of a renewed present culture of defence.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78441438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the most prominent trends, especially over the last few decades, tourism and leisure activities in protected and / or classified areas have placed “new” demands on these areas, especially for low‑carbon, low‑intensity activities such as nature and active tourism, where the tourists tend to be more environmentally‑friendly and aware. Considering that hiking trails and the practice of hiking are among the most popular and important activities in protected areas worldwide, the present research is aimed at identi‑ fying the typical profile of hikers visiting the PR1 GOI trail (Serra da Lousã, Portugal) and comparing it with the results obtained in other studies carried out within the framework of international scientific literature. The data obtained through a questionnaire survey applied by Cordeiro (2017) to hikers, allowed us to con‑ clude that the identified profile is in line with those described in other studies, with a homogeneous distribu‑ tion by gender, with ages between 18 and 35 and complete higher education, presenting contact with nature as the main reason for carrying out the trail, and carrying out the activity, predominantly, in groups. In sum‑ mary, the importance of knowing the profiles, practices and motivations of hikers is crucial for development agents (public and private) to adapt their strategies for action and planning of tourist activity accordingly.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"68 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86096427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The categories of analysis were local and foreign cultural elements, resistance, alienation and innovation. The qualitative research was based on sociological ethnography. The results showed that tourism has caused structuring of traditional Aztec dance, transforming its cultural elements and dividing the dancers into two strands: the chimaleros (who commercialize and dramatize the dance for tourist consumption) and the traditional cultural groups (who resist the effects of tourism). Among other aspects, it is concluded that, regardless of their position, both have undergone adaptive innovation to remain inserted in tourism. It is reflected that trans -structuring is a natural process in society, but that tourism may generate a number of transformations in social practices.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85415568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present article aims to analyse the perception of the viticulture landscape of Serra Gaucha and how it influences the wine tourist experience. Furthermore, using the visitors’ observations, we attempt to identify the tangible and intangible elements that represent the Serra Gaucha landscape, relevant at‑ tractions to the wine tourism experiences and tthe awareness of the need for landscape preservation. For data generation we used an online survey built around 22 questions sent to the 210 tourists who visited a family winery located in the Historical Winery route in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with a final total of 52 participants. The city is part of a region known as Serra Gaucha, the main Brazilian wine tourism destination. The results showed the importance of tangible and intangible elements in the perception of the landscape by visitors, especially for the vineyards, the architecture of the wooden and stone houses, the local gastronomy and the wine tasting itself. Such elements immerse and involve the tourists,and contribute directly to the tourist experience. The main ways to register the moments were photos and videos, and wine purchases. Visitors recognised the need to preserve the landscape, a condition for the sustainability of this activity.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88633253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this paper is to substantiate Brazilians perception with respect to elements that prevent them from experiencing certain leisure events, with responses analysed according to gender and income. The research was empirical procedure using survey techniques involving 2400 subjects aged 7 and over. This paper specifically discusses the variables relating to gender and income, and how these can influence access to leisure activities. It was identified that time and money were the two main constraints on leisure experiences mentioned by the subjects. We conclude that the existence of these barriers is directly related to the conditions of life in our society. Income and gender inequalities influence leisure experiences, giving pause for reflection on the inequalities of access to leisure as a social right.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"58 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81171555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These marginal areas are affected by problems such as rural exodus, loss of tradi‑ tions, abandonment of the territory, etc. Despite this, in these small centers there is a rich cultural and environmental heritage that can be exploited to create new socio‑economic opportunities through tourism. Among the main tools used to achieve these goals are cultural itineraries. This article aims at analysing the potential of routes for the sustainable development of rural areas through the Digital Atlas of the paths of Italy. The methodology is based on the theory of the original Italian government programme and an in‑depth analysis of the Santa Barbara route, in Sardinia.
