Based on a selection of seven authors of different nationalities we have extracted several items in common, in order to assess the similarities and differences between them. These items are linked to the treatment offered by each traveller of certain elements of the temple. By means of this study we will be able to determine which elements or aspects of the Cathedral were the most commented, analysing the way in which they were approached by each author. In addition, these travel books constitute clear antecedents of future tourist guides.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72744871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present research focused on the relevance of gastronomy to the development of tourism in the Serra da Estrela region, for which a qualitative analysis was carried out based on a case study ‑ the Museu do Pão museum complex ‑ through semi‑structured interviews with the directors of the Museu do Pão (Bread Museum) and the Municipality of Seia, in accordance with the literature and articulated with the research question and objectives. As a result, it was found that gastronomy makes a strong contribution to the sustainable development of the territory under study, with the Museu do Pão playing a central role in this process. This suggests that the valorisation of this asset in Serra da Estrela has an analogous function to other regions with similar characteristics.\"","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"2004 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86261869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is carried out in Andalusia home to a series of unsustainable mature mass‑tourism destinations. To achieve the proposed objective, 1,068 surveys have been carried out at the main exit points of the Anda‑ lusian region and a two‑stage cluster technique used to identify for each segment which variables explain its WTP. Five clusters have been identified, with the variables type of companions, length of stay, origin and daily budget ofe greatest discriminating power in the formation of said clusters.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75936636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the governance responses that emerged from this panorama was the shift to scenario analysis, which generates narratives about multiple future possibilities. This paper attempts to answer the question of why and how to use scenario analysis when defining tourism development policy. In this study, a semi‑systematic investigation is conducted to broaden the scope of discussion and explore new paths associated with the topic of tourism development policy. It is believed that the use of scenarios in tourism development policy can prove to be a valuable experimental technique for developing innovative ideas. With that end, this paper proposes a scenario development process model for policy and decision makers. In particu‑ lar, it reflects on the role of gender in the construct of imaginaries and the representation of femininity asso‑ ciated with the traditional roles of women in the private and domestic sphere. To this end, the author inves‑ tigates the tourism scenario in the houses/shops of the municipality of Zinacantán, in Los Altos de Chiapas, Mexico, and the criteria of authenticity as deployed in tourism promotion. The paper aims to investigate this view of female exoticism that affects the way these women redefine themselves through the staging of their bodies and their traditional roles. It concludes that this image of exoticism reproduces a colonial gaze and perpetuates patriarchal power relations and ideologies.","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"116 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80373442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The universe included 10 postgraduate programs in Tourism and related areas of the Brazilian territory, totaling the characterization of 131 professors. The research used a mixed approach, contemplating qualitative and quantitative aspects, in a complementary way. A bibliographic review on the theme was carried out in order to support the understanding of the historical path of postgraduate programs and the production of knowledge in the area, in Brazil. The data collection adopted a scanning attitude based on the information available on the Lattes Platform. For statistical analysis, SPSS statistics and Microsoft Excel software were used. For the qualitative analysis, the word cloud visual resource was used. We also propose to identify some of the most representative folk groups and to analyze the repercussions of the use of these manifestations of popular culture, especially the traditional dances and songs of the Alto Minho region (Portugal), in the formulation of the image of the destination, with special incidence in the district of Viana Of the Castle Viana do Castelo. We also propose to ascertain to what extent these folkloric manifestations have broadened their function of affirming the cultural identity of the receiving community. And how can we discuss an eventual deconstruction of the identity brought about by tourism? Taking into account the epistemological framework of the Social Sciences, we propose to adopt fundamentally the qualitative/ deductive methodologies since we will start from a documentary collection and analysis of the folklorist discourse (s), plus the unstructured and open data collection, namely open interviews and observation participant. The research design follows an ethnographic matrix with the use of deductive methodologies, and the guiding thread of the narrative presents a duality of the way folklore is conceived, an analysis that focuses on the confrontation and overlap of the so‑called “paradigm of recomposition” Which formulates it as a representation of past customs and tradition and the pattern of ‘stylization’ which expresses folklore as an ‘object’ in itself.\"","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76409367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Findings from tourism research increasingly point to the nature of tourism stakeholders' mindsets as an inhibiting factor in this regard. However, empirical evidence is scarce on the complex structure and (culture -shaped) development -processes of those mental models that form the basis of these mindsets. This comparative study of two regional destinations in both Azerbaijian and Ecuador presents a new qualitative approach, based on the GABEK semantic modelling technique, where latent and manifest forms of collective mental models are uncovered together with the cultural “traces” left by their formation -process. As a main result, intervention areas for a targeted “cultural engineering” are identified on the basis of the extracted mental models that may serve as a starting point for a more systemic governance of innovation in DC -destinations","PeriodicalId":45968,"journal":{"name":"Pasos-Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79544454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
