The objective of the study was to evaluate the evidence of validity and reliability of the Spanish version of the Health-Related Anxiety Scale (HRAS). Materials and Methods: 100 patients diagnosed with HIV participated, selected by convenience sampling (76.5% men and 24.4% women; Average age = 39.96 years, SD = 13.19). The factorial structure of the HRAS was evaluated from the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Likewise, the latent-level relationships of HRAS with life satisfaction, generalized anxiety, and depression were evaluated using a structural equation model. Reliability was assessed with McDonald’s omega coefficient.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Musicians often begin to study music at a very young age, and their lives are subjected to constant pressure and prone to high levels of stress that may impact their well-being. The aim of this study is to identify the effects of occupational stress and deliberate practice on the performance anxiety of passionate musicians and on their degree of well-being. A total of 483 musicians completed questionnaires measuring their levels of occupational stress, passion, performance anxiety and wellness. The results indicated that gender, low control, high demands, overcommitment and obsessive passion are predictors of musicians’ level of performance anxiety. Meanwhile, experiencing control, low demands, rewards, low overcommitment, harmonious passion and low obsessive passion contributed to the explanation for musicians’ well-being. These findings show that occupational stress and passion, but not deliberate practice, are directly related with performance anxiety and with musicians’ well-being. The pre-test evaluation was carried out with 25 employees from the same company, of whom 15 met the inclusion criteria with moderate scores for psychological distress as the cut-off point. The employees received an intervention based on a brief program combining of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and also Functional-Analytic Psychotherapy. Material and Methods: The employees received 3 sessions, 2 individual and 1 group session. They were assessed with the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12); the Environmental Reward Observation Scale (EROS); and job satisfaction, which was evaluated with the job well-being subscale of the Psychological Well-being Scale (EBP). An intra-group design with pre and post intervention assessment was used. Results: Participants improved statistically in the variables analyzed: GHQ-12 (W = -3.34, gl = 14, p = .001), EROS (W = -3.05, gl = 14, p = .002) and EBP (W = -3.08, gl = 14, p = .002). Conclusions: The implications of the combination of both approaches that share philosophical and analytical roots based on functional contextualism are discussed. This treatment is proposed as an effective model to produce changes in workers’ health in short periods of time, in a fast and non-invasive way for employees and companies.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"13 2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the democratic transition, the speciality has been progressively growing and settling. The purpose of this article is to carry out an analysis of the current situation of clinical psychology in the Spanish National Health Service (SNHS). Method: A review of several documents providing data on human resources in the SNHS was carried out. The results have been described and ratios and trends have been estimated. Results: A presence of 2,615 clinical psychology professionals (5.58 prof / 100,000 inhab) is estimated. Resident Intern Psychologist’s (PIR) trajectory is presented in an ascending way and with a settlement similar to the rest of health specialties. Conclusions: PIR’s training generates structural growth in the SNS. It is necessary to increase the ratio to a minimum of 12 prof / 100,000 inhab. Clinical psychology is a mature speciality that can propose and take new steps in its consolidation.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Anxiety and depression disorders have a high prevalence in the population, sometimes generated by exceptional situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic. The prevalence of these mental disorders could be inferred with Google Trends, a tool that analyzes Internet search holdings by time ranges and geographic location. In order to study the relationship between search trends for the terms “Anxiety” and “Depression” and their prevalence in Spain during the Covid-19 pandemic, a selective search analysis was carried out based on geographic variables (Madrid, Andalusia, Catalonia) and temporary (weeks in 2020). The words “Anxiety”, “Depression” and “Covid-19” were taken into account to make the estimates of search trends in Google Trends. The results showed significant differences between the autonomous communities in their interest in searching for information on depression, as well as a different temporal progression, both in anxiety and depression, which would reflect the fluctuations in the evolution of epidemiological data in each geographic region. Tools such as Google Trends would allow the health community to implement prevention strategies in the event of the detection of peaks of concern for certain mental disorders in specific regions and time periods. This is especially relevant if the prevalence of these disorders in the population can negatively interfere with the effectiveness of prevention and health containment policies in emergency situations.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People can experience higher levels of health anxiety during pandemic outbreaks because such pandemic outbreaks can cause additional stress and threats. In this sense, people can be more vulnerable to health anxiety during the COVID-19 outbreak. To better understand and overcome health anxiety, it is important to examine factors that affect health anxiety during the COVID-19 outbreak. This study aimed to examine the effects of age, gender, perceived risk, exposure to media, depression, anxiety, and stress on health anxiety during the early phase of the COVID-19 outbreak in Turkey.Materials and Method: The participants included 1473 adults and the data were collected via an online tool. The demographic questions, the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, and the Short Health Anxiety Scale were used to collect data. Multiple linear regression analysis was implemented to analyze the data using R program. Results: The results showed that anxiety was the strongest positive predictor of health anxiety, following stress, TV News and social media, depression, and risk perception. Age and gender were not found to be significant predictors.Conclusions: This study showed that the significant predictors of health anxiety can escalate health anxiety during the COVID-19 outbreak. The results and limitations are discussed along with implications for future research and intervention and prevention planning. © 2021 Sociedad Española para el Estudio de la Ansiedad y el Estrés - SEAS. The aim of this study was to analyze the mediating effect of self-efficacy and commitment to physical exercise between the severity of pain and the number of times a week the patient has gone for a fast walk for at least 30 minutes with the aim of doing physical exercise, in women with fibromyalgia. Method: A total of 264 women with fibromyalgia participated in the study. The mean age was 56.99 years (SD = 10.35). Pain intensity, self-efficacy to cope with chronic pain, commitment to physical exercise and the number of times a week that the patient walked for at least 30 minutes with the goal of physical exercise were evaluated. For data analysis, the serial multiple mediator model of the macro Process for SPSS 22 was used. Results: A lower perception of pain was associated with a higher perception of self-efficacy, a higher perception of self-efficacy was associated with a greater commitment to physical exercise, and a higher commitment was associated with a greater number of times a week that they walked (B = -.34; SE = .20; 95% CI = [-0.83, -0.03]). A total effect (B = -1.04, SE = .38, t = -2.78, 95% I = [-1.81, -.78], p = .01) of the predictors on the described behavior pattern was observed. Conclusion: Self-efficacy and commitment to the physical exercise mediate the relationship between pain intensity and the described walking pattern. The results of the serial mediation indicate that self-efficacy is an essential variable for the performance of commitment to the physical exercise in the relationship between pain intensity and walking.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70893025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: Before-after clinical trial without a control group performed in two urban health centers. Patients aged 18-60 years with a diagnosis of anxiety disorder on benzodiazepine treatment were included. The program consisted of seven sessions of individual psychotherapy, and an individualized deprescription schedule. The Goldberg test and SF-12 questionnaire were administered in the first, third and final sessions. Results: Of the 123 patients included, 107 (87%) finished the study, of whom 93 (86.9%) were women, with a mean age of 44.7 years. Most had generalized anxiety disorder diagnosed in the past year. After completing the program, benzodiazepines were withdrawn in 54 out of 86 participants (62.8%); in 14 (16.3%) the dose was decreased, in 6 (7.0%) the dose was maintained and in 12 (13.9%) the dose was increased. There were significant improvements in the mental dimension of the SF-12 and the Goldberg test score. Conclusions: The intervention was useful in deprescibing benzodiazepines, reducing anxiety and improving the quality of life.
