Se concluyó que la esca- la propuesta es apropiada para medir el afrontamiento de la ansiedad durante exámenes. Coping strategies are a useful tool to regulate the anxiety experienced in evaluative situations. Based on that, the objective of this study was to develop a scale to measure the use of strategies in order to cope anxiety during tests, delimiting those which allow to continue solving the test. The developed ins- trument was applied to 184 people (101 women, 82 men and 1 unidentified person with these categories (Mage = 17.27, SD = 0.70) and it considered the experiences in the admission test to a University. The Ex- ploratory Structural Equation Modeling showed a three-factor structure, which represented the strategies: acceptance, putting into perspective and active coping. Each factor defined a subscale, which presented evidence of reliability: acceptable internal consistencies and significant test-retest correlations. Favorable evidence of validity was provided through the analysis of experts, structural equation analysis, gender di- fferences, and partial correlations with test anxiety. It was concluded that the proposed scale is suitable to measure the coping with during tests.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70893762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(2017) to the Spanish version of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Inventory. The overall sample consisted of 1220 subjects: 640 women and 580 men, with a mean age of 20.40 years (SD= 1.92) and 20.54 years (SD= 2.04) respectively. Psychometric analysis showed that a tri-factorial structure (cognitive symptoms, sleep disorders and somatic symptoms) was viable and adequate for both populations (men and woman) according to the established psychometric requirements. The results showed that factor structure, factor loadings and intercepts of the instrument could be considered invariant across groups; however, there are differences between groups for the means of factors cognitive anxiety and somatic symptoms.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presence of these symptoms has a direct impact on the course and the recovery from the CVDs. A less analyzed aspect is the role played by the stress induced by the onset of CVDs conditions and, especially, by acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In this study, we assessed posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS), emotional state, health habits, and subjective perception of the event and causal attributions regarding the infarct, in a sample of 76 patients who had suffered an AMI in the previous 48-72 hours. Structural equation analyses and path analyses showed that the severity of PTSS was predicted by the perceived severity of the AMI and by two specific beliefs (i.e., considering that the AMI is a hereditary condition and that the help of others will not be beneficial). The results suggest the possibility of early identification of patients with a higher risk of suffering a high level of stress derived from the AMI. Based on this evidence, we discuss the possibilities of making effective interventions to reduce these symptoms, often ignored in clinical practice, and improve the medical and psychological prognosis of people with AMI.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70893006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, not all minors show serious negative consequences. Their degree of resilience will depend on previous emotional stability, degree of self-esteem, cognitive style and the type of experiences, as well as their ability to solve problems. Protective factors implicated in resilience include a stable family environment, helpful relationships with peers, and community support. There are certain adaptive coping strategies, such as striving to realistically solve everyday problems, adapting to the new reality, and actively forgetting or forgiving what happened. The greater or lesser use of certain cognitive emotional regulation strategies can also condition the recovery process or be linked to different trajectories of the victims in the face of potentially traumatic events. A positive indicator of the victim’s improvement is when the verbal expression of feelings is recovered and order is brought to the chaos of images and memories of the violent event. Further research is required in the near future, such as the influence of the age and gender of minors and the role of coping strategies and emotional regulation.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70893132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although several studies addressed the impact of this pandemic on their mental health, just a few of them focused on emotion regulation. Therefore, the aim of this study is to explore the role of emotion regulation strategies and the recovery process on health personnel’s mental health during the first wave of the CO-VID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional and web-based study was conducted with 100 health professionals working in Spain during the first wave of COVID-19 (April-May, 2020). The survey included demographics, depression, PTSD, and emotional exhaustion as symptomatology, and several emotion regulation strategies and recovery variables as predictive factors. Regression analyses highlighted rumination and self-criticism as the main positive predictors of symptomatology and negative affect. Relaxation turned out to be a negative predictor for depression and emotional exhaustion. However, greater use of distraction also seemed to contribute to higher levels of emotional exhaustion. Finally, acceptance, psychological detachment and self-compassion were significant and positive predictors of positive affect. These results may help to design interventions to prevent psychological problems among healthcare workers and enhance better mental health especially in critical contexts.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70893044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The levels of Perceived Emotional Intelligence and emotional regulation can be key factors in modulating the levels of anxiety experienced and preventing the emotional disorders. The aim is to analyze how the IEP levels and forms of emotional regulation of reappraisal and suppression influence the anxiety experience. Materials and methods: 99 participants aged between 18 and 35 completed the Inventory of Anxiety Situations and Responses (ISRA-B) to analyze anxiety, the Trait Meta Mood Scale (TMMS-24) for IEP, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) for emotional regulation and a sociodemographic questionnaire and situations related to the experience with COVID-19. Results: The measured IEP factors predict anxiety levels, high attention and low clarity and repair predict different anxiety responses and in different situations in variable percentages. Reappraisal and suppression factors do not predict anxiety levels. Women experience more anxiety than men and those who have had relatives or friends who have suffered from COVID-19 experience less anxiety. Conclusions: High levels of attention to feelings and low levels of clarity and emotional repair are risk factors for experiencing different types of anxiety in different situations, while the forms of emotional regulation of reappraisal and suppression do not seem to be relevant, sociodemographic factors such as being a woman or one’s own experiences in relation to COVID-19 seem to be risk or protective factors that should be studied to prevent anxiety in pandemic contexts.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892781","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The longitudinal study collected data from 29,231 participants aged 18 or older through an online platform who answered questions which evaluated: optimism, uncertainty, perceived competence, self-efficacy, emotional distress, current job situation, sadness and anger in conjunction with sociodemographic variables. The main results indicated that general beliefs about the future, uncertainty, and optimism, together with beliefs about one's own conduct, such as perceived competence when facing the situation or self-efficacy to maintain routines, could predict the emotional distress experienced by an individual. A clear gender pattern was found. Between the two waves, optimism, perceived competence to manage the situation and self-efficacy to maintain routines decrease, uncertainty grows, and emotional distress remains. Taking these results into account we can prevent possible emotional scars and offer coping strategies to overcome the pandemic and the future situations of confinement in a more efficient way.","PeriodicalId":45616,"journal":{"name":"Ansiedad y Estres-Anxiety and Stress","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70892732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
