Design/methodology/approach: The analysis departs from a conceptual and normative approach on the law-making process in Indonesia, then juxtaposes it with facts and provisions around the enactment of hazardous waste regulation. Findings: This paper concludes that business and political influence is undeniably infringing the protection of human rights and environment through the exclusion of fly ash bottom ash (FABA) and slag from the hazardous waste list. Despite the potential harm that FABA and slag may cause to human health and the environment, the government remains confident that they are non-hazardous materials. The debate on the benefit and drawbacks of FABA utilisation put aside the facts regarding limited access to remedy and weak environmental law enforcement. Research limitations/implications: This paper aims to invite more discussion to criticise the policy process and law-making process in Indonesia in which politicians’ personal interests should not outweigh the interests of protecting human health and the environment.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85827773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design/methodology/approach: A descriptive-analytical strategy was employed in this investigation. This method made use of library research on rules and court decisions, and the information gathered was examined descriptively. Findings: Despite the fact that the notion of state economy is articulated in the General Explanation of the Anti-Corruption Act, this study demonstrates that it remains inappropriate and confusing. Research limitations/implications: The findings of this study are likely to serve as a model for future research or as a reference for judges interpreting the aspects of the state economy in the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Act. Approach: This study uses a normative legal analysis method with secondary data. Findings: The results show that there is an urgency for Indonesia to implement RIA in preparing its laws and regulations to achieve the SDGs. Practically, the RIA method is not a must-use method in preparing Indonesia's law and is not a priority. Several institutions that encourage people to use RIA are making significant progress and must be encouraged so that RIA can be inherently implemented before making decisions to make laws and regulations. Research implications: The RIA method is considered a breakthrough that can be used as a guide for making good laws and regulations. In the future, the House of Representatives (DPR), as RIA guidelines drafters, may include the SDGs as one of the parameters in forming regulations.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"316 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80416111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today, companies and investors focus on ESG that stands for Environmental Social Governance. Capital markets can be a powerful tool for creating change. By restricting access to capital, companies are stimulated to improve their performance under measures Environmental, Social or Governance. Rewarding companies and managers that perform well on ESG factors encourages continuous progress and improvement. But in order to do that, it is necessary for companies and stakeholders to have at their disposal standards and indexes that measure the performance of companies in the ESG field and ensure comparability.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85249008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three coastal villages denoted as shoreline (Rajoir), interim (Gangarampur) and inland (Ganopatipur) areas of south western coastal zone of Bangladesh were purposively selected to determine the temperature, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), dissolve oxygen (DO), total hardness (TH), chloride (Cl-), potassium (K+) and calcium (Ca++) ions. A total of 40 water samples were collected from 20 sampling sites based on the maximum water use declared by local communities. Temperature, pH, EC, TDS and DO were measured onsite and TSS, TH, Cl-, K+ and Ca++ were measured in the laboratory. Based on the EC values 100% water samples were within the desirable limit (1500 μS/cm). TDS classification showed that 100% sampling station’s water were fulfilled the criteria for irrigation purpose in shoreline area and 100% sampling station’s water were within desirable category in inland area. The study revealed that the trend of EC, TDS and Cl- concentrations were decreased from shoreline to inland villages, respectively. The study resulted the positive correlation between EC: TDS (r=0.712), TDS: Ca (r=0.585), DO: K (r=0.5041), Cl- : K (r=0.581), K: Ca (r=0.635) showed homogeneous sources of variables and same anthropogenic activities might be responsible for the excess concentrations in the study area. So, the water should not be used for drinking purpose without any proper treatment.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87275455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) modeling approach to co-integration analysis and based on relevant theory, the model was estimated. Estimates showed that remittances significantly and positively impact capital market in the long run. The result also shows that the capital market adjusts speedily to the tune of 64 percent towards convergence in any displacement. Other diagnostics analyses conducted, such as the causality test, affirmed the existence of unidirectional causality running from remittances to the capital market. CUSUM and CUSUMQ tests attest to the stability of the model, which makes it amenable for policy prediction. The findings bring the policy implications and recommendations to the fore.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88051165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results showed that most of the respondents (71.3% and 81.7%) interviewed were male in Oyo East and Iseyin respectively. Respondents (68.8% and 79.2%) in Oyo East and Iseyin respectively stated that they are members of the timber contractor’s association in their area. In Oyo East, 20%, 11.3%, 8.8% and 5.5% of the respondents respectively reported that they were involved in the planning of forest activities, planting of seeds and seedlings, monitoring and forest laws enforcement and formulation of forest policies. In Iseyin, 20.8%, 11.7%, 10.8% and 9.2% of the respondents respectively iterated that they were involved in the planning of forest activities, monitoring and forest laws enforcement and formulation of forest policies. Logistic regression analysis showed that educational background (0.787) and the number of years in business (0.840) had significant influence on respondents’ willingness to contribute to forestry development. The study revealed that provision of financial support, better law enforcement and proper land management will increase timber contractors’ contribution to forestry development.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"53 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88281841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used to collect the data. A total of 100 quantitative survey data and 10 KIIs were conducted. Statistically significant tests between variables (X2, p-value, and CI) were done. The average age of the respondents is 58.41± 18.35 years. There is a strong association between the age of the respondents and receiving the government social safety net program support (x2= 29.62; Cramer’s V= .42, df = 12; Sig; P= < .003). We found an association between respondents’ monthly income and types of disability (x2= 19.03; Cramer’s V= .33, df = 12; Sig; P= < .03). The health expenditure of the study respondents is higher compared to the age range below 50 years in Bangladesh. There is a strong association between respondents’ age and health expenditure (x2= 24.53; Cramer’s V= .26, df = 11; Sig; P= < .04). The majority of respondents (84.5%) bought medicine, 8.2% buy food, 4.1% expenses on children’s educational purposes and 3.1% buy a dress with their SSPs money. About 69% of respondents think that SSPs’ support money is not sufficient to survive and maintain the minimum quality of life. Study findings suggest that the majority of the respondents were happy with government SSPs. Further research should address the factors of disability of the SSPs beneficiaries and the quality of life of SSPs beneficiaries.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"198 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74221589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A positivist approach was employed backed by quantitative analysis to determine the impact of education on intention to formalise informal businesses. The study analysed a sample of 265 informal traders and a structured questionnaire was used to gather data. Collected data was analysed using parameters such as regression analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicate that the general level of education is not among enablers of formalisation. However entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial attitude were found to be positively correlated with intention to formalise businesses. The study recommends that more focus should be on entrepreneurial education rather than convectional education system so as to enable transition from informal to formal economy. The study therefore brings a new perspective on formalisation of the informal sector.","PeriodicalId":45381,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Entrepreneurship Management and Sustainable Development","volume":"97 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76188632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
