However, the mechanisms by which M exerts this beneficial influence have not been sufficiently explored. The aim of the present study was to examine the interrelationships between M, cognitive emotion regulation (CER) strategies and negative affective states (depression, anxiety, and stress). In addition, we examined the potential mediating role of CER strategies in the relationship between M and negative affective states. The study, which was conducted online, included 365 subjects of a wider age range (between 19 and 68 years). The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale were applied. The results mainly support the partial mediation model, according to which higher levels of M, in addition to directly reducing depression, anxiety and stress symptoms, also indirectly decrease the symptoms of these negative affective states, through usage of CER strategies. The results of the study indicate the possible important role of interventions focused on developing US and adaptive strategies","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"81 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84255615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Relations among overlapping relevant concepts are clarified in the first section. The following analysis comprises results of the qualitative study based on 12 semi-structured interviews with representatives of the entrepreneurial sector, state officials and scientists closely connected with the development and application of AI and robots. The findings suggest that respondents advocate for fostering Industry 4.0 by recognising its potential, but also identify obstacles regarding its implementation. It is concluded that Industry 4.0 is most likely to emerge as a \"localised\" process, as: 1) the smart specialisation of specific technologically most advanced products; 2) a primarily regional phenomenon that will appear in the north-west counties.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"73 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80581525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to partner violence, child abuse and violence against the elderly, in recent years scientists have focused on the violent behaviour of juveniles towards other family members. The results of the research unequivocally point out the victimisation of juveniles as a risk factor for their violent behaviour towards parents and siblings. The paper aims to present a part of the research findings on juvenile domestic violence in Serbia on the connection between the victimisation of juveniles and their violent behaviour towards family members. The research was conducted on a sample of 1335 students of elementary (7th and 8th grade) and high (all grades) schools in Belgrade and Novi Sad. The results show a high prevalence of domestic violence committed by juveniles and a high prevalence of their victimisation by domestic violence. Additionally, the findings indicate a possibility of prediction of juvenile domestic violence, with the experience of victimisation as the most significant predictor of all risk factors that were tested.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90860824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Five focus group discussions were held, three with host members (N = 21) and two with refugees from Syria (N = 11). Four overarching themes emerged from the data in both groups: \"Perspectives on integration\", \"Socioeconomic integration\", \"Intergroup relations\", and \"Culture, language and social obstacles to integration\". They appeared consistently throughout discussions, with hosts and refugees providing a consensual view of refugee integration. They understood integration in the same way and recognised the need for both groups to adapt as part of the integration process. Croatia was perceived as a transit country and a temporary solution for refugees, which is an obstacle to integration. Emphasis was placed on the intergroup relations and the responsibility of the host society in providing tools and mechanisms that foster socio-economic and socio-psychological integration, overcome structural barriers and promote pleasant social contexts.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"405 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80854025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A phenomenological pattern was used and 13 volunteer teachers participated in the study. The data were obtained with the standardised open-ended interview technique. The interview questions consisted of class standards that are culturally responsive and common components based on Weinstein et al. (2003) and Weinstein et al. (2004). According to the research findings, teachers should question themselves and examine how their cultural background influences their preferences, lifestyles and behaviours. In order to understand the culture of the students, it would be useful for the teachers to research the culture of the student and to contact their families. In the communication process with families, cultural differences should be respected, be sensitive to cultural communication styles and a two-way communication should be established with families. At this point, teachers can plan activities and group work that exhibit cultural differences in the classroom environment, keeping their expectations from students high and encouraging students in this regard.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"107 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77629109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, teachers have been facing various obstacles in their work, such as teaching pupils from different cultures, while teacher-training students will encounter the same obstacles. The aim of this research was to investigate the predictive power of ethnic identity, general empathy, ethnocultural empathy, and sociodemographic variables on university students’ acculturation expectations from refugee students. Research was conducted at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020, on a sample of 128 female university students, average age of 23, who attended the final two years of Teacher Training College. The results show that ethnic identity was positively associated with acculturation expectations of integration, while ethnocultural empathy was negatively associated with acculturation expectations of assimilation.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83365851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the author first identifies the interwar interests of four involved parties, namely: the Yugoslav and Bulgarian communist leaderships, and the political representatives of the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom. In the second part, the author describes the development of the idea of Yugoslav-Bulgarian integration after the War, first during the period of rapprochement between two communist parties, and then in the period of the Cominform crisis and the dramatic turnaround in their relations. Besides different macro- -geopolitical visions, the author also identifies significant differences in motives at the micro-geopolitical level. Contrary to the proclaimed idea of the 'South Slavic Brotherhood', the Communist Party of Yugoslavia perceived the idea foremost as a maneuvering tool in its relations with the UK and the Soviets, while the Bulgarian Communist Party used the (con)federal idea for pursuing multi-layered interests. It was primarily a part of the strategy for resolving the Macedonian question, but the alliance with Yugoslavia was also a tool for protecting Bulgarian territories in the relations with Greece, and consequently leverage for strengthening the internal position of Bulgarian communists in the post-war consolidation process.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81472133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the outcomes of the parenting support programme \"Growing Up Together Fathers' Club\" conducted through four weekly workshops with fathers of young children. A pre-post intervention comparison of self-reported data from 238 fathers who completed the programme in 25 sites throughout Croatia revealed an increase in parental self-efficacy, positive involvement with the child and attempted understanding of the child's perspective, and a decrease in harsh parenting and violence to the child after the programme. Participants' educational level did not moderate the results. Qualitative data provide insight into perceived programme benefits for fathers and their children as well as suggestions for programme improvement.","PeriodicalId":45161,"journal":{"name":"Drustvena Istrazivanja","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84474090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
