Mentha species have antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, and the most active compound that plays a role is menthol. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of variations in the anatomical structure and oil glands of the leaves of two Mentha species as essential oil producers. This type of research was descriptive qualitative in the form of leaf anatomy observations using the fresh and whole mount preparations for longitudinal incisions and the paraffin method for transverse incisions. The research results show that the anatomical structure of the leaves in M. piperita and M. spicata includes the shape, arrangement of epidermal cells and their derivatives, the structure of the tissues that make up the leaves, and variations in glandular and non-glandular trichomes including variations in type, structure, size, and location. The structure of essential oil glands in the leaves of M. piperita and M. spicata species has variations, including number, shape, size, distribution, location, and density. The results of the analysis of the anatomical characteristics of the Mentha species showed that M. piperita had more oil glands than M. spicata. This research has implications for better natural resource management, disaster prevention, and the development of agriculture and fisheries, and this research is the basis for better decision-making by local governments, stakeholders, and related institutions in planning regional development, environmental management, and resource allocation.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135769867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The population of this research is pharmaceutical companies included in the IDX-IC F211 classification; the sample of this research is companies listed from 2020 to 2021. This research uses path analysis and panel regression on reviews as a test tool to detect the direct and indirect influence of relationships between the independent and dependent variables. This research shows that inflation and ROA directly affect stock prices. In contrast, BI interest rates and GDP do not directly affect stock prices. Inflation and GDP affect ROA, while BI interest rates do not affect ROA. ROA can mediate the effect of inflation and BI interest rates on stock prices but cannot mediate the effect of GDP on stock prices. This research implies that companies can use the findings of this research to identify how specific macroeconomic factors can affect financial performance. This can assist in planning risk management strategies to mitigate the negative impact of macroeconomic fluctuations.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136375884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used is an empirical approach using the Thornthwaite Mather water balance. The research data comes from both primary and secondary sources. Primary data collection involves field observations, measurements, and mapping, which provide data on soil texture, vegetation, fauna, topography, and aerial photos. Secondary data is obtained from institutions/agencies. Soil texture data is obtained through purposive random sampling. The extent of the leaky swamp is +104,252 m2, and it can hold a maximum volume of +116,028.25 m3 of water. The research results indicate the presence of two types of leaky swamps based on their hydrotopographic characteristics: shallow swamps and deep swamps. Shallow swamps are located on the riverbanks with higher elevations, covering an area of 30,462.54 m2. Meanwhile, deep swamps are situated in the center of the swamp with lower elevations in the form of basins, covering an area of 37,733.08 m2. This research has implications for a better understanding of Lebak swamps in the Grogol District. The findings can be used to develop more effective water resource management strategies. Furthermore, this research can serve as a foundation for further in-depth studies, such as ecological studies of swamps, research on water quality, or analyses of the impact of climate change on hydrotopography and the distribution of Lebak swamps.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136162415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to research how a new entry product (in the sports market) could gain its brand trust based on its brand experience. This research collected and analyzed using numerical data through questionnaires and a total of 87 responses were considered valid for data analysis using SPSS. The hypothesis testing is done using linear regression, using brand experience as independent variable and brand trust as dependent one. The result shows that there is a linear correlation and positive influence from brand experience towards brand trust in the new entry golf product. Thus, it could be concluded that brand experience, especially in new entry products, is essential, since it could lead to customer trust towards the brand. Impllication of this research is findings emphasize the significance of brand experience as a driver of brand trust for new entry products. This suggests that companies entering competitive markets should prioritize creating positive brand experiences to establish trust among consumers. Managers can now tailor their strategies to enhance brand experiences, ultimately boosting brand trust and customer loyalty.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90123509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pandemic has led to significant changes, such as reduced travel and eco-friendly transportation, increased government intervention, and radical policy shifts like universal basic income and Green New Deal initiatives. The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of evidence-based decision-making and the risks of disregarding scientific expertise, influencing populist and authoritarian movements. The pandemic presents an opportunity for transformative policy changes, with behavioral changes such as reduced travel and eco-friendly infrastructure promoting sustainable mobility and climate change. However, the crisis also challenges the international order, with rising powers and traditional supporters. Urgent reform is needed to strengthen crisis surveillance, prevention, and response. Political scientists play a crucial role in guiding policymakers, but barriers like slow publication processes and divides between scholars and policymakers hinder the effective translation of research into action. Understanding and analyzing the international response is vital for combating the pandemic effectively. This article uses qualitative and literature review research methods. Qualitative research addresses questions about understanding the meaning and experience dimensions of humans' lives and social worlds. COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus disease 2019, has emerged as a significant global challenge and tragedy, rapidly spreading worldwide. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a significant global challenge with far-reaching consequences on various aspects of society.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83259842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

XYZ is a pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. A quantitative methodology uses a dataset of 100,498 transactions originating from 432,356 rows of data covering July to December 2022 in the JABODETABEK area. Apriori and FP-GROWTH algorithms are applied for association rules mining. The results show that FP-GROWTH has the fastest execution time of 84,655 seconds. However, the memory usage for the Apriori algorithm is the lowest at 482.32 MiB, with increments of: 0.21 MiB. For the rules generated, the two algorithms, both Apriori and FP-GROWTH, produce the same number of rules and values of support, confidence, lift, Bi-Support, Bi-Confidence, and Bi-Lift. In conclusion, Apriori is recommended for sales datasets if memory usage and ease of implementation are important. However, if the speed of execution time and a large amount of data are considered, FP-GROWTH is a better choice because the execution time is faster for large amounts of data. However, the choice of algorithm depends on the specific analysis objectives, itemset size, data scale, and computational capabilities. Results from association rules mining provide evidence of product popularity, purchasing patterns, and opportunities for strategic marketing and inventory management. These findings can help PT. XYZ improves business efficiency, understands customer behavior, and increases profitability.","PeriodicalId":45058,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Science Technology and Sustainable Development","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79675660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
