Water sampling was performed during autumn (September) 2022 from 15 sampling points from surface layer (0.5 m). Based on the obtained results and according to Order 161/2006, water collected from Moara Domnească pond was classified in quality classes. Limnological surveys of physicochemical parameters were completed by high-resolution remote sensing imagery by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). For each flight performance, an orthomosaic of georeferenced RGB images was made and the different features of interest were monitored and quantified by an automatic identification. UAV imagery is a useful tool for environmental lake management. Reporting the coordinates of the sampling points on the orthomosaic it helps to interpret better the results, having an overview of the studied area.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47296489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This review is based on assessment of 73 articles published between 2001-2023 in order to find the main reason that led to the need to replace meat of animal origin with various meat analogues from different sources. Another objective of this study is the identification of protein sources and nutritional value of meat analogues because this issue led to the new research agendas and industrial challenges. The review of the most relevant studies on how to obtain meat analogues, such as for example extrusion for plant-based meat analogue, open research horizons in improving the sensory and textural properties of plant-based meat analogues. Consumer behaviour of replacing animal meat with meat analogues and cultured meats is not an easy task, requiring in-depth studies and research, and the risk and benefits analysis of plant-based meat analogues. As in any new product development process, this study has also revealed the results related to consumer attitude research regarding meat analogues.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44901415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The studied amaranth species were A. caudatus L., A. mantegazzianus Passer., A. hybridus L., and A. hypochondriacus L. It was found that the enzymatic activity of malate dehydrogenase ensured the glyoxylate cycle functioning. The malate dehydrogenase activity varied depending on the enzyme accumulation during the initial stages of amaranth plant development. Isoenzyme analysis revealed two isoforms of malate dehydrogenase. It was noted that, in the studied amaranth species, the F-band was intrinsic to the early ripening forms, while the late-ripening carried the S-band. In addition, we detected the malate dehydrogenase polymorphism and differences in the enzymatic activity and demonstrated that it was possible to use them as a biochemical marker in breeding.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41539757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pandemic disrupted global food systems that were already at risk to many threats such as climate change, natural resources degradation, extreme weather events, regional conflicts, low productivity, high population growth, and economic slowdown. The paper uses qualitative perspective to analyse COVID-19 effects on food systems and food security, identifies ways to establish resilient and sustainable food systems, and presents a roadmap to achieving a food-secure world by 2030. The findings indicates that the COVID-19 impacted the cash flow at both local and international levels and the financial state of producers, and agri-businesses causing low productivity, limited market accessibility, loss of employment, increased health costs, increased poverty levels, malnutrition, and deaths. Building sustainable and resilient food systems requires; supporting small-medium sized enterprises, strengthening international markets, technological innovations, promoting shorter and more diversified food value chains, and supporting small-scale farmers and rural women is inevitable.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42402656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After common cutworm infestation at leaf node 4, PPO activities increased 10.2-fold locally, leading to systemic increase in PPO activities at upper leaf nodes 1-2 (3.0-fold) and lower leaf node 6 (1.7-fold). While infestation at leaf node 6 locally induced PPO activities 14.5-fold, and systemically induced PPO activities 3.0-fold at leaf node 4. By contrast, no significant induction of PPO was observed at any leaf nodes when either leaf node 4 or 6 was infested by mealybug. When common cutworm fed on PPO B::GUS fusion tomatoes, induced PPO B expression was observed locally particularly in mature leaves at veins, petioles, and abscission zones. However, PPO D::GUS fusion tomatoes showed locally induced expression especially in older leaves at veins and petioles. Systemically induced expression was also observed. Mealybug feeding also locally induced PPO B and PPO D expression in vascular tissues but at lower levels.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48880964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identifying a technology that ensures a superior quality, but also a high and stable production of the wheat crop by choosing: the right tillage system, the optimal level of fertilization and the treatment to combat diseases and pests is one of the priorities of agricultural research. In order to evaluate the influence of chemical fertilization, seed treatment and tillage system on winter wheat yield and quality, a field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research and Development Station Turda (ARDS Turda), in 2020-2021. The Andrada winter wheat variety was used for the experiment. The experimental factors were: soil tillage system with four graduations, seed and foliar treatment with three graduations and chemical fertilization with three graduations. Even if high yield was obtained when conventional system was adopted, good winter wheat yield was observed in minimum tillage or no-tillage system when high doses of fertilization were experimented.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44095387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Twenty-six different serotypes have been identified, and the ability of each strain to cause disease varies widely. BTV can infect a wide range of domestic and wild ruminants - sheep, goats, cattle, buffalo, deer, most species of African antelope and camels. For the study period (2011-2021), outbreaks were declared in 21 member states in Europe with predominant serotypes 1, 4 and 8. Based on data from Animal Disease Information System (ADIS) with the present paper we analyzed the distribution of the BTV serotypes within the affected countries and found that particular serotypes tend to spread to particular countries. Due to various farming methods that decarbonize soil and make it less robust and poor in nutrients, soil is being lost at a rate 10 to 40 times higher than it can be naturally replenished. From the above, many questions arise regarding the sustainability of today's agriculture on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and this is due to several reasons: loss of biodiversity, loss of land quality through the process of soil erosion, pollution from chemical fertilizers and pesticides administered inadequately, non-compliance with the employment contracts, etc. The main purpose consists in the comparative assessment of the indices modified by the agropedogenetic process of the soils evolved under natural and arable conditions, as well as their qualitative state in Tîrnova commune, Dondușeni district. Physical soil disturbance caused by anthropogenic activities, sometimes inappropriate, is a crucial factor in the conservation of soil quality, moisture availability and crop diversity in agroecosystems. However, the development of agroecological technologies and systems that emphasize the conservation-regeneration of biodiversity, soil, water and other resources is an urgent necessity for both urban and rural areas to cope with an increasing range of socioeconomic and environmental challenges.","PeriodicalId":44979,"journal":{"name":"AgroLife Scientific Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47162964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
