To this effect, a professional experience with a soccer goalkeeper is presented, and the practical implications are reflected from the author’s 25-year experience as an applied sports psychologist. It is seen that the state of mind and stress of the substitute player is not the same as that of the starting player, and his performance may decrease in this situation. There are certain psychosocial, emotional and sports preparation factors that can help the player to get out of that position and achieve tenure. Commitment to change and improvement, reflection and personal introspection, having a good dialogue with the coach so as not to take it personally and wanting to grow, striving every day from the field and invisible training, are the key to overcome the stress of not playing and be able to come out stronger. It is concluded that the substitute player, based on personal support and psychological training, can improve his emotional state, optimize his preparation and sports performance, as well as achieve more assiduous playing participation and even become a starting player.","PeriodicalId":44944,"journal":{"name":"Revista Iberoamericana de Psicologia del Ejercicio y el Deporte","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78049072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was carried out to predict the different psychological factors in sports performance from the Flow states in a sample of 466 adult male Crossfit practitioners from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires (Argentina), with a mean age of 28 ± 6.47 years. All participants completed a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Flow states scale (FSS) and the psychological inventory of sports performance (IPED). The results showed autotelic experience, the balance between skill and challenge, and the loss of self-consciousness to be the greatest predictors of psychological factors in sports performance, demonstrating the importance of such factors in the practice of Crossfit. These results contribute to determine the profiles of practitioners, as well as to help coaches, in a practice that is increasingly popular.","PeriodicalId":44944,"journal":{"name":"Revista Iberoamericana de Psicologia del Ejercicio y el Deporte","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84655023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Part of the basis of Cognitive Psychology holds that there is an interpretation of events that influences emotions and behavior, while Positive Psychology focuses on what we intend to achieve instead of on modifying what works badly. The classical and most significant cognitive theories are taken as a basis, along with various cognitive-behavioral strategies, to be jointly applied to the implementation of these ideas in the sports environment. Applied tools of this kind are increasingly necessary for sports psychology professionals in search of the optimization of psychological work in an increasingly demanding environment.","PeriodicalId":44944,"journal":{"name":"Revista Iberoamericana de Psicologia del Ejercicio y el Deporte","volume":"147 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77431866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Androetto","doi":"10.5093/rpadef2020a13","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5093/rpadef2020a13","url":null,"abstract":"The Club Atlético River Plate is one of the most important sports institutions in South America. In the last six years, the Buenos Aires club returned to the top of continental soccer. And for three decades, the Department of Psychology has accompanied this growth, not only at the level of amateur soccer, but also in professional soccer. With work in the quarry in general and in pension in particular as pillars, the sports psychologists at River Plate deal with issues as diverse as uprooting, the pressure exerted by parents and mental training without losing sight of the socio-environmental context of each player in the child-youth categories. It is a comprehensive view, which also includes a psychoeducational perspective and accompanies the soccer player throughout his process, whether he finishes as a professional or not. Sense of belonging, identification and team spirit are values transmitted from the quarry and continue in the professional team. The work with the players of the first division on the variables of team sports (motivation, concentration, self-confidence, control of fears and pressures, leadership, communication and resilience, among others) intensified after the arrival of Marcelo Gallardo to the bench in 2014, and has continued throughout his successful coaching cycle to the present day. After going through a necessary process of legitimation, with the practice “transferred” to places as diverse as fields, concentrations and airplanes, and with interand trans-discipline as a framework, the Department of Psychology made numerous contributions, among them, the ideation of a motto that became the leitmotif of the River Philosophy: “With Work and Humility, # We All Win”. A registered trademark (and translated from conscience to practice) by a historical and multi-champion team.","PeriodicalId":44944,"journal":{"name":"Revista Iberoamericana de Psicologia del Ejercicio y el Deporte","volume":"96 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74979905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
