This suggests re-specification of the scale may be required. The present study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the English-version of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale in a population of help-seeking males using exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Material and methods: Data from 621 males aged 18-80 years (mean=38.23, SD=13.59) was collected via a cross-sectional open online survey. Along with the 7-item Fear of COVID-19 Scale, the PHQ-4 and PROMIS Anger Short Form were used to measure probable anxiety, depression and anger. Data were randomly partitioned into two subsamples and separate factor analyses were conducted with robust CFA corrections applied for non-normality. Results: A 4-item single-factor version of the scale was identified reporting excellent model fit (R-RMSEA=.033, R-CFI=.998, R-TFI=.997, SRMR=.012) and good internal consistency (α=.86). Age and probable anxiety effects were observed. Discussion: Relative to existing validation studies of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, the present study provides improved psychometrics of the 4-item version of the scale, while scale means observed were comparable to other studies. Conclusion: This study validates a 4-item version of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale to assess related anxieties in a help seeking male population. Future research should seek to validate the 4-item version in other subpopulations. © 2022 Polish Psychiatric Association. Material and methods: The sample consisted of 595 Brazilian adults aged 18-72 years, who answered the Big Five Inventory 2 Short (BFI-2-S) and a COVID-19 Vaccine Questionnaire. Results and discussion: Higher scores in agreeableness and openness were associated with a higher probability of adhering to the vaccination program, and higher scores in extroversion and lower scores in agreeableness were associated with poor adherence to the vaccination, anti-vaccine movement, and conspiracy beliefs against the vaccine (p ≤ .01). These results show the agreeableness and openness traits seem to be crucial for adherence to the vaccination program. Conclusion: The findings indicate the importance of acknowledging agreeableness and openness traits as relevant in the adherence to the public policies programs against the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2022 Polish Psychiatric Association. Research indicates widespread stress and anxiety during the pandemic. What is still less known is which pandemic-influenced factors are most directly impacting psychological wellbeing, and whether emotion regulation abilities are moderating this impact. Two-hundred thirty participants were recruited through Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) to complete an online survey composed of assessments of perceived stress, state anxiety, emotion regulation abilities, and pandemic-related behavioral and lifestyle impacts. Multiple behavioral and lifestyle impacts were predictors of both stress and anxiety. Additionally, emotion regulation difficulty moderated the relationship between several pandemic-related predictors and stress and anxiety. The current study provides evidence that emotion regulation moderates the degree to which pandemic-related changes impact stress and anxiety. Emphasizing adaptive emotion regulation strategies may strengthen one's ability to cope with these pandemic-related changes and increase mental wellbeing, although even these strategies might have limited efficacy during periods of greater disruption. © 2022 Polish Psychiatric Association. In the case of high risk, special recommendations are addressed to the carriers of gene mutations and they concern, inter alia, surgical prophylactic procedures – mastectomy and adnexectomy. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sexual satisfaction, partner satisfaction and body assessment in women with the BRCA mutation depending on the preventive surgery performed by them that reduce cancer risk. Material and methods: The study involved 310 women with the BRCA genetic mutation and were healthy at the time of the study. The study lasted 7 months and the variables were measured using the Sexual Satisfaction Sale for Women (SSS WR15), the Matched Marriage Questionnaire (KDM-2), the Body Esteem Scale (BES) and the questionnaire enabling the collection of sociodemographic data and information related to cancer history and preventive operations performed. Results: The conducted analysis showed significant differences between the patients depending on the preventive surgery performed in terms of sexual attractiveness, weight control and all dimensions of partner and sexual satisfaction. Discussion: The results obtained are consistent with the results of studies conducted in other countries. Conclusions: It has been proven that there are relationships between body assessment and sexual satisfaction as well as between body assessment and relationship satisfaction, and that there are differences in these areas between the groups of women who performed preventive mastectomy, adnexectomy, both procedures or none. The research covered 16 voluntary migrants. A psychological interview and observation were used. Attempts were made to explain the fear of death and the related behaviours of migrants on the basis of two theories: sensation seeking theory by M. Zuckerman and terror management theory by Greenberg, Pyszczynski and Solomon. It turned out that the subjects rarely considered the risk of losing health or life on their way to the EU, and the level of fear of death was low, especially in men. The existence of relationships between the level of anxiety and sensation seeking, self-esteem and worldview has been noticed. The level of fear in women can be explained by their age, life experience, way of making decisions and awareness of dangers along the route to the UE. Women thought about passing away more often because they encountered the death of their relatives more often. Men often made decisions on an impulse. The contemplating death, second aspect of the thanatological attitude was absent in them. They had higher self-esteem than women, a more stable culture worldview, and a higher sensation seeking and propensity for risky behavior. These personality traits may have diminished the fear of death. voluntary and forced migrants; fear, death; attitudes","PeriodicalId":44856,"journal":{"name":"Archives of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48273053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The COVID-19 pandemic Has changed this situation, as the experience of life and health threats has resulted in many therapists choosing to work remotely with patients. Working online for psychotherapists poses new challenges and ethical questions. Many practitioners, when looking for answers to bothering questions arising from the clinical practice of working with patients remotely, look for answers in Professional codes of ethics or in the guidelines of therapeutic associations. This article is a review of 52 codes of ethics from different countries on five continents in terms of looking for norms and principles that provide an ethical framework for online psychotherapeutic work. Additionally, the guidelines and recommendations of selected Professional psychotherapeutic associations were analyzed. These societies, in additional Communications or statements, also introduce temporary ethical criteria, guidelines and good ethical practices that remotely working therapists should take into account in their work.","PeriodicalId":44856,"journal":{"name":"Archives of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42687753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the present study is to investigate the fit of a bifactor model applied on emotional disposition measures emphasizing the specification of a general factor through the identification of specific responses or indicators that can account for the communality between depression, anxiety and anger. The results obtained show two large groups of indicators that would be common in these affective disposition types: affective and cognitive responses. On the one hand, affective responses include agitation, irritability, and tension or nervousness. On the other hand, cognitive symptoms are linked to the presence of repetitive worrying and uncontrollable thoughts.
