Cancer pain occur at any time in the disease's progression. It is a multidimensional and complex phenomenon that need proper assessment, management and evaluation based on current nursing knowledge and practices. Despite the fact that developing adequate pain control is a top priority for cancer patients. Many barriers to undertreatment exist among professionals, which might have an impact on successful pain management. Aim : to assess nurses' attitude, practices, and barriers towards pain management of elderly patients with cancer. Method : In this study. a descriptive correlational research design was used. The study was carried out at medical, surgical, and hematological departments in Oncology Center Mansoura University. A convenience sample of 122 nurses was used in this study. 4 tools were used to collect data.: Nurses' structured interview schedule, nurses' attitude toward pain management interview schedule, nurses' practices interview schedule regarding cancer pain management and nurses' barriers for cancer pain management interview schedule. Results : majority of studied nurses (82.8%) had positive attitude toward pain management, 91% of them had poor practice regarding cancer pain management and 60.7% of studied nurses had little barrier toward pain management of elderly patients with cancer. Conclusion : Nurses' have positive attitude and poor practices regarding pain management of elderly patients with cancer. The main barriers to effective cancer pain management were inadequate knowledge about pain management and opioids. Aim: To evaluate the effect of implementing teaching program on patient outcomes suffering from mandibular fracture. Design: Quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. Setting: The current study was conducted at Plastic & Reconstructive Burn Center and Mansoura university hospital. Sample: A purposive sample of 80 conscious adult patients with mandibular fracture was recruited in the study. Tools of the study: Three tools were used to collect the data: Tool I: Interview Questionnaire sheet: divided into 3 parts: Part 1: Demographic data, Part 2: Patient’s medical health history, Part3: Patient's knowledge regarding mandibular fracture questionnaire. Tool II: Patient assessment sheet. Tool III: Tempo mandibular dysfunction (TMD) Disability Index Questionnaire. Result: The results of this study revealed that there were highly statistically significant differences (P<0.001) in level of knowledge at pre-test, post-test and follow up test, over all complication were decreased in study group in post-test and follow up test compared to control group. Aim of the study: Evaluate the effect of educational instructions on knowledge of patients with ulcerative colitis. Methodology: Quasi–experimental design was conducted at inpatient and outpatient clinic in Specialized Medical Hospital at Mansoura University. Purposive sample of 50 patients who were willing to participate in the study according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Tool: One tool structured questionnaire sheet was used in this study. Results: The present study showed statistically significant improvement in patient’s knowledge level noticed in posttest and follow up after implementation of educational instructions. Conclusion: The study concluded that there was a positive effect of educational instructions on improving knowledge level among ulcerative colitis patients. Relationship quality is a substantial problem and can have a significant effect on workplace affective commitment. Aim : examining the association between relationship quality and workplace affective commitment for nurses at Main Mansoura University Hospital. Subject and Method: A descriptive research design is conducted on 250 nurses. Setting: Main Mansoura University hospital. Tools: Two tools were used for data collection as The Leader-Member Exchange) Questionnaire to examine relationship quality, and Workplace Affective Commitment Questionnaire was adopted from Multidimensional Organizational Commitment. Results: The highest level of relationship quality was moderate level 73.2% but the highest level of workplace affective commitment was low level 64.8%, but the low level was high. Conclusion : There were positively correlation and statistically significant between total relationship quality scores and workplace affective commitment for nurses at Main Mansoura University Hospital. In order to overcome the mortality and morbidity caused by nurses' malpractices that happen during blood sampling withdrawal we need to look at this research point. Aim: this study aimed to assess nurses' malpractices during blood samples withdrawal at NICU. Method: A descriptive study was conducted in NICU at Mansoura University Children Hospital on (80) nurses. Data were collected using structured interview questionnaire and observational checklist. Results: revealed that, over half of the studied nurses' total practical knowledge regarding blood samples withdrawal was unsatisfactory and more than one quarter of the studied nurses' total practices regarding blood samples withdrawal were incompetent. Conclusion: the majority of the studied nurses were lacking knowledge and the minority of them had incompetent practice toward blood samples withdrawal. So, fluid and electrolyte stabilization is one of the corner stones of patient’s nursing care. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized in this study. Setting: The study conducted at the cardio-thoracic surgery department affiliated to Mansoura University Hospitals. Tools: Tool I Self-administered interview questionnaires and consisted of two parts Part 1: used to address nurses’ demographic data Part 2: concerned with nurses’ knowledge regarding fluid and electrolyte balance. Tools II Observational checklist fluid and electrolyte therapy. Sample: All available registered nurses in the previously mentioned setting (52 Nurse). Result: more than half of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of knowledge (52%) and about two thirds had adequate competent practice (62%) regarding fluid and electrolyte balance in cardiac surgery patients with highly statistically significant correlations between nurses' total knowledge level, and clinical competency scores with their age, gender, educational level, years of experience, and attendance of training program. Conclusion: This study represents that more than half of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of knowledge and about two thirds had adequate competent practice with a statistically significant correlations between nurses' total knowledge level, and clinical competency scores with their age, gender, educational level, years of experience, and training program attendance. Many nursing tasks involve a degree of risk such as medication administration procedures carries the greatest risk for patients if staff nurses not follow five rights of medication administration (patient, drug, route, time and dose). Aim: the study aimed to evaluate nurses’ knowledge and performance about safety measures in medication administration among staff nurses. Method: A descriptive correlational research design was utilized; the study was conducted on 350 staff nurses working at Al-Mahalla general hospital. Data was collected by using two tool, Medication Safety Measures Knowledge Assessment Questionnaire. Safe Medication Administration Observation Checklist. Results: The study results showed that total nurses’ knowledge of safety measures related to medication administration was high level as well as their total performance related to medication administration. Conclusion: There was statistically significant correlation between staff nurses’ knowledge and their performance of safety measures related to medication administration. Recommendation: Provision of adequate supervision and guidance for nurses. The Internet provides educational advantages, but internet over use can lead to negative outcomes such as social isolation and poor academic achievement. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of “Internet Addiction (IA)” among adolescents in Mansoura city, Egypt. A cross-sectional study design was used to accomplish this study. Multi stages stratified cluster-sampling technique was done of 2340 students located at Mansoura city. Data for this study was collected by using Fahmy and El-Sherbini Socio Economic Scale and Internet Addiction Scale. Results : The study results revealed that. 44.7% of the adolescents had moderate internet addiction, 12% had severe internet addictions and 43.3% of the adolescents were average Internet users. Most adolescents (96.9%) preferred home to access the internet. Social media was the main purpose of using the internet as reported by 81.5% of the adolescents. Most of them (89%) utilized mobile phones for internet access. Conclusion : Moderate and sever IA was prevalent among more than half of studied adolescents. Most adolescents used internet for entertainment purposes. A chest tube can be a life-saving intervention for infants suffering from a pneumothorax, bloody effusion and hemothorax. However, it is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Aim: this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program regarding care of infants with chest tube on nurses' knowledge and practice. Method: A quasi-experimental research design was conducted on a sample of 50 nurses worked at pediatric surgical & cardiothoracic intensive care units (PCICU) of Mansoura University Children's Hospital (MUCH). Tools: A Structured Questionnaire Sheet for nurses' knowledge &nurses’ practice for caring for infants with chest tube observational checklist. Results: the majority of the studied nurses had good knowledge and most of them had competent practice after implementation of an educational program with a highly statistically significant difference. Conclusion: There was an improvement in the nurses' knowledge and practice after implementation of the educational program. Recommendations: In-services, up to date and regular training programs to improve nurses' knowledge and practices regarding care of infants with chest tube. Design: Quasi-experimental research design was utilized in this study. Setting: This study was conducted in orthopedic departments at Mansoura University Hospital. Subject: All available number of nurses (50) working in orthopedic department. Tools: One tool structure questionnaire sheet was used in this study. Results: The present study revealed that more than half of studied nurses’ had fair knowledge pre intervention compared to above two third had good knowledge post intervention. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was a positive effect of nursing guidelines on improving nurses’ knowledge regarding safe patient handling and movement.
