The data used come from 10 130 sampling sites established in 2013 in stands with silvicultural management, theinformation was registered only for trees over 7.5 cm of diameter at breast height. The quantified variables were: the species,number of trees, diameter at breast height, basal area and total height. The Margalef (D), Shannon-Weiner (H') indexes and theecological parameters of abundance (AR ), relative dominance (DR ), absolute and relative frequency (FR ) and the importance valueindex (IVI) of each species were estimated. The Pinaceae family was represented by four genera and 10 species, Fabaceae with twogenera and two species, Cupressaceae with two genera and one specie and Ericaceae with one genera and one specie were obtained.Pinus durangensis Martínez presented the highest relative values of abundance, dominance and frequency. Pinus durangensis andQuercus sideroxyla Humb. & Bonpl. are the species of greater ecological importance.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"195 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116498877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the morphological attributesof P. hartwegii seedlings, inoculated with ectomycorrhizal fungi (EMCF) spore’s solution on greenhouse, and know its effect on thisforest specie development. Seedlings were inoculated at four and eight months using three ECMF spore solution in separatedtreatments: Russula brevipes, Russula emetica and Lactarius deliciosus. After 18 months, seedlings were evaluated throughdasometric variables such as height, stem, and crown diameter. Also, biomass was obtained in three structural components (stem,foliage, and root) through dry weight. Additionally, chlorophyll concentration (α and β), carotenes and mortality rate were measured(based on the formula of Trigueros-Bañuelos et al., 2009). Root architecture (number and length of roots) was measured with theEZ-Rhizo program. Dasometric variables showed differences (p=0.05) between fungal treatments, but plant biomass did not showdifferences between treatments. Correlation between direct variables (stem diameter, height, and crown diameter) and indirectvariables (stem, foliage, and root) showed a strong relationship between stem diameter (r = 0.97) and foliage (r =0.96). Chlorophyllsand carotenes showed no significant relationship between fungal treatments. The annual mortality rate was significantly high (80%)in the three treatments. Roots in L. deliciosus treatment showed a maximum length of 364.93 cm. The objective of present study was o determine the contents of chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids in fournative shrub species, in the municipality of los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, northeastern Mexico. Evaluated plant species were: Condaliahookeri, Syderoxylon celastrinum, Prosopis glandulosa, and Celtis pallida. Leaf samples were randomly selected form a 2,500 mundisturbed plot. In this regard, five leaf samples per species were collected, having a total of 20 leaf tissue samples in order toproceed with the extract preparation to measure absorbance at specific wavelengths to quantitate phtosyntetic pigment content bymeans of using a Perkin-Elmer UV/VIS spectrophotmer. According to the Kruskal-Wallis non-parametirc test, highly significantdifferences (P<.05) were detected in pigment content among studied species. Highest chloropyll a content were observed in P.glandulosa (0.84 mg/gfw) and S. celastrinum (0.82 mg/gfw). With respect to chrophyll b, higher values (0.21 mg/gfw) wereshown in C. hookeri and P. glandulosa (0.16 mg/gfw). With respect to carotenoids, maximum values were observed in S.celastrinum, P. glandulosa (0.20 mg/gfw) and C. pallida (0.18 mg/gfw). Total chlorophyll content (a+b) was different amongspecies, however, S. celastrinum and P. glandulosa (1.03 mg/gfw) achieved higher values (1.00 mg/gfw). With respect to thechlorophyll a/b ratio, there were significant among species, however, the species P. glandulosa acquired higher values (5.98).Similarly, the total chlorophyll (a+b)/car ratio was also different among species and the species P. glandulosa achived higher values(5.64). The variation in the pigment content has an important role in the productivity and phtosynthetic process of studied species.Differences could be related to physiological synthtesis capabilities of each species and to the environmental conditions where thesespecies grow and develop.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125019532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome this idea, DMDs are required to bescaled to an intuitive and interactive level to facilitate their practical use by foresters. The objective was to design and develop anonline computer application (CA) that reproduces DMDs based on the Reineke and Yoda functions to provide operational andinteractive functionality to users in the diagnosis and prescription of thinning as intermediate silvicultural treatments to managementregular forests. The engineering, architecture, components, modules, catalogs and programming language of the CA were designedand defined, for this a participatory process was applied that involved: (1) intellectual part, by expert researchers with specializedknowledge in thinning; (2) users, identified as forestry technicians who conduct operational management when applying forestry;and (3) developers, by expert programmers. The CA developed was called SIIMADER, an acronym for \"Inifap Computer System toManagement Stands Density\", which through algorithms executes routines to enter, process, store and output information in tabularand graphical form to manage density. The main output are thinning programs. The CA was generated in the Visual Studio® 2019development environment, to program the algorithms the C # language was used, the database management system was Microsoft®SQL Server® Standard version 12.0. AI is operating online with free access and prior registration in a hosting with its own domainon the internet. The neighbourhood has a total amount of 32 blocks, 1 raisedmedian, 1 roundabout, 1 park, 1 traffic easement, with a surfae area of 49.95 hectares. A full census of the wooded area wasconducted and supported by thematic mapping, data gathering of enviromental and forestry variables, using a GPS Garmin eTrex 10every tree was georeferenced. Outstandig results; there are 1386 trees, from 81 different species that belong to 31 botanical families.The more prolific are Ficus benjamina, Thuja orientalis, Arecastrum romanzoffianum, Citrus aurantium y Cupressus sempervirens.The present condition of the regsstered trees revealed that 33.91% are healthy, 57.07% are in regular condition, 7.36% are in poorcondition and 1.66% are standing dead. On the basis of the elaborated database, the wooded area census thah includes forestryvariables, pruning necessities, phytosanitary condition of the trees and thematic cartography of the wooded areas status, a forestrymanagement program was developed specially for the urban trees of the neighbourhood that can be executed weekly or monthly bythe Park and Gardens brigades. A ratio of 9.16 mgreen area surface per citizen was found, this constitutes the minimum standardrecommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). There is a relationship of 3.03 trees per habitant, a much bigger amountthan the WHO’s standard, which points out that in order to obtain a better air quality in urban areas there must be a tree for everythree citizens.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131694618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presentnatural resource condition present reflects significant problems in the three components of sustainability, economic, social andenvironmental. From the Economic perspective, the volume of wood harvest has practically remained static along the two lastdecades. As a result, the international trade deficit of wood products has been increasing significantly. The contribution of theforestry sector to the gross national product (PIB) remains below 1 %. From the social perspective, poverty and margination in ruralarea continues with no expectation of possible solution in the near future. The nation confronts an uncertain future, relative to theadverse impact of climate change, increasing degradation and contamination of terrestrial y marine ecosystems, biodiversity lossand forest communities poverty. From de the Economic Outlook, Mexico faces a growing demand of Forest derived goods andservices. The exposed problem poses the urgent need of a thorough planning for the conservation, use and sustainable managementof forest resources under a long run perspective. For the future supply of goods and services provided by the natural resource, amarket prospective is needed, starting from the estimated future Forest ecosystem supply and demand for the three Sustainableconditions. Relevant aspects to consider for future planning are: Sustainable Forest management from watersheds; promotion tocommunity development; commercial Forest plantations as supplement of natural Forests; support to the productive and valuechain, establishment of dendroenergy Forest plantations, Effective territorial use planning and adequate and effective governance.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122022788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Esta práctica, además de ser útil para la producción, ha ocasionado problemas tales como salinidad del suelo. Además, se tienen problemas para el riego rodado, esto debido a la topografía del lugar. En respuesta a esta situación, el presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar el potencial de establecimiento de una especia forestal de uso múltiple adecuada a las condiciones presentes, como alternativa de producción agrícola. En el aspecto de suelos salinos y con problemas para el riego, se incluyó una especie forestal con características de tolerancia a la salinidad, sequías y potencial de uso múltiple. Los suelos no presentan deficiencias para K, P, Ca, Mg y Zn, sin embargo; los porcentajes de materia orgánica y contenido de nitrógeno inorgánico fueron pobres, la textura fue franca y la concentración de metales pesados fue baja. Con base en los análisis del suelo y las opiniones de los productores que participaron en los talleres, el presente trabajo propuso y establecieron dos parcelas demostrativas de mezquite (Prosopis laevigata (Willd.) M.C. Johnst), con un diseño de árboles en linderos, como una opción para contribuir al cultivo en suelos salinos y suelos en donde el riego se dificulta debido a la topografía del lugar. Además, se evaluó la sobrevivencia del mezquite de forma mensual por tres meses, la cual fue de 100 % en El jagüey del cerro, y de 90 % en Santa Ana, lo cual indica que no existen problemas de adaptabilidad en dichos suelos. Se concluye que el mezquite es una alternativa viable para los productores, con o sin problemas en sus parcelas, que permitirá dedicar parte de éstas al cultivo de mezquite.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125050944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All trees with DBH ≥ 7cm were registered; their species were identified, plus, the diameter at breast height, height and average canopy diameter were measured. Density,dominance, frequency, importance value index, Pretzsch stratification index, Shannon-Wiener index and Simpson index werecalculated. Species richness resulted in 19 species, distributed in 18 genera and 10 botanical families. Density reached 349 Nhaand basal area 4.347m²ha. Diametric class distribution of the inferior classes showed a “J” inverted shape distribution, as aresponse of the forest dynamics to disturbances. Most ecological importance species were Pithecellobium dulce, Burserabipinnata, Heliocarpus terebinthinaceus, Agonandra racemosa and Annona longiflora due to their great abundance and resiliencecapacity. Pretzsch stratification index (A) showed that there is a heterogeneity occurring in the distribution of species by heightlayer (A= 1.023; A= 4.043) reaching only 31.11% of the maximum possible equitability. Diversity indexes indicated a lowdiversity (H ́= 1.067 y ʎ = 0.104) compared to others sites nationwide. It was determined that the conservation status of this forestis a secondary succession, due to factors such as wildfires, livestock, and the high occurrence of shrub and herbaceous species, so itis important to start a line of action focused on restoration and recovery of this ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"374 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123483971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, the recovery that thevegetation will have in these areas is different. However, the evaluation in the field of the ecosystems' response to this impactimplies a significant expenditure of resources, either due to the extent of the fire or the inaccessibility of the terrain. Due to this,alternative strategies are sought for the evaluation and determination of priority areas for the implementation of management, suchas the use of spectral indices derived from remote sensors. In this work, the correlation presented by different variables takendirectly in the field and obtained by applying spectral indices to satellite images was evaluated to determine predictive models of thenatural regeneration of pine after the occurrence of a forest fire. Being the variables of tree canopy diameter, improved vegetationindex and slope those that were included in the predictive models, presenting a higher value of Rin the model in which bothenvironmental variables and those taken from satellite images are taken together. Finally, the resulting model with the improvedvegetation index was applied to a forest fire one year later and two years after the occurrence of the fire, obtaining as a result adecrease in regeneration individuals two years after the fire, however, it is notorious the tendency to find more regeneration in fireaffected areas compared to non-burned areas","PeriodicalId":447849,"journal":{"name":"e-CUCBA","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131715617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
