This is due to cheaper prices, wider ranges of bright shades, and considerably improved fastness properties in comparison to natural dyes. Unfortunately, the production of textile chemicals is dependent on petrochemical sources, and some of these chemicals contain carcinogenic amines. The application of such chemicals causes serious health hazards and negatively influences the eco-balance in nature. The use of synthetic dyes has decreased and consequently, there is an exploration of using natural ingredients to make wet processing environmentally friendly.","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124840216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While some research groups have investigated and published on theoretical aspects of algorithmic design for aesthetic-only, non-technical fashion design use cases, the practical characteristics of the methodology have yet to be explored and investigated. Furthermore, besides aesthetic applications, the related technical issues of product design are to be considered and examined. By way of a basic and anonymized example involving a footwear design project, this commentary provides an overview of this concept in practice. The example entails both the technical and aesthetic aspects of generative fashion design and how they impact the corresponding process development in practice.","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114541942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Virgin fiber grade PET (FG-PET) was used as the control. Spinning and draw machine were performed separately in this study. The draw ratios were 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, and 3.55. It was found that higher draw ratios result in higher density and crystallinity for all samples. This increase was larger in the case of FG samples, especially at higher draw ratios. This suggests that crystallization ability in the drawing process for the recycled polymer is weaker than the new polymer. Higher initial modulus of yarns produced at higher draw ratios is confirmed by the increase in their crystallinity values. Higher values of apparent crystal size of R-PET and BG-PET samples than those of FG-PET samples are in accordance to their initial modulus changes. In the draw ratio of 3.2, R-PET converted to Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY). In this draw ratio, tenacity of R-PET (3.18g/den) showed 11% higher value compared to that of FG-PET (2.83g/den). The drawn R-PET filament yarn presented desirable properties compared to the drawn FG-PET yarn. This might be attributed to the higher intrinsic viscosity and birefringence of the R-PET yarn. As a result of an increase in draw ratio, there is an advanced considerable increase in the tensile strengths and initial modulus of filaments in all samples..","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124136961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This change in the meaning of the word is determined by a metropolitan subject (in the extended sense) who is everywhere inserted in the flows of digital communication and so lives the constant experience in which the classical space/time coordinates are mixed and transformed. The result is an acceleration of the ubiquitous identities that presents itself as one of the most complex events of the new millennium which must be analyzed according to an undisciplined ethnography. The researcher who anticipated the theoretical process about ubiquitous computing was Mark Weiser [1]. In 1988, he wrote that ubiquities characterize space/time relations in digital communication, stressing that such emerging digital ubiquity involves both humans and not-human. The traditional dichotomic paradigm about human and not-human thanks to internet-of-things or the smart commodities – is going to melt in the air of pixel. “Ubiquitous computing names the third wave in computing. First were mainframes, each shared by lots of people. Now we are in the personal computing era, person and machine staring uneasily at each other across the desktop. Next comes ubiquitous computing, or the age of calm technology, when technology recedes into the background of our lives” [1].","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126947525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A promising solution to this new problem is the harvesting of energy from biomechanical movements. This mini review presents the basics to an alternative way of harvesting energy from mechanical strain through the piezoelectric effect. Some recent advances on functional textiles are presented and in the concluding section possible applications and challenges to the wearable generator field are discussed. The rapid development and availability of low-power electronics demands for the invention of compact and convenient energy sources. A promising solution to this matter is the use of functional textiles to harvest energy from biomechanical movements [1]. Functional textiles are textiles that can produce a practical outcome when there is a detectable change in their surroundings. The resultant response could be chemical, electric, thermal or some other type [2]. In this review some smart textiles and their ability to convert a mechanical stimulus into electrical energy will be discussed in addition to some possible applications for their energy harvesting capabilities.","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"221 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114421756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
