Brewer","doi":"10.3828/bhs.2022.43","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3828/bhs.2022.43","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000The interpolated stories included in Don Quijote, Part one have frequently been studied as oppositional to the main plot in function of thematic binaries such as literature-life, illusion-reality, truth-fiction, idealism-realism and romance-novel. An analysis of the embedded tales’ shared motifs, commonplace characterizations and structural relationship with the central narration, however, demonstrates Cervantes’s attempt to incorporate and harmonize disparate literary elements into a single narrative according to the theoretical precepts of his age, especially unity-in-variety, admiratio and verisimilitude. The interpolated stories are constructed as symmetrical patterns of recurrent tropes and themes with varying degrees of coordination with each other, as well as with the main plot. This intricate structure demonstrates the incremental nature of Cervantes’s innovation. Sin embargo, la mayor parte de estos estudios no han realizado una lectura de su obra en su relación con la literatura de la España tardofranquista. En este artículo, realizo una interpretación de La Política (1968) de José Luis Castillejo a partir de su contraste con la tradición de la poesía social. Frente al lirismo que caracteriza la poesía social, la obra de Castillejo plantea su relación con la política a través del procedimiento impersonal de la apropiación y ensaya una forma de protesta no oposicional. Renunciando a la interferencia lírica del ego como voz del pueblo, La Política de Castillejo ofrece tanto un testimonio como una crítica de la España tardofranquista. Siguiendo la propuesta de Max F. Mucho tiempo después,Álvaro García publica Canción en blanco,un solo poema largo cuya experiencia fundamental es la del gozo erótico compartido en un cuarto de hotel. Como Octavio Paz, Álvaro García también aprecia en este amor encerrado entre cuatro paredes una fuerza revolucionaria. Sin embargo, el contexto en que escribe Álvaro García no es, evidentemente, la Guerra Civil, sino el capitalismo tardío, cuya violencia se deja ver en una España desestructurada por la crisis económica de 2008 y en la televisada Guerra de Irak. Este ensayo investiga los puntos en que Octavio Paz y Álvaro García confraternizan, pero también esos otros lugares en que difieren.
