However, earlier randomized medical trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses endorse that MBP ought to be deserted earlier than colorectal surgical treatment due to the fact of the futility in decreasing postoperative problems and motility. The new published outcomes from three RCTs evaluating MBP with no MBP in colorectal surgical treatment in 2010 make the updating of systemic overview and meta-analysis necessary. Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the safety of colorectal surgery without mechanical bowel preparation. Methods: This is an observational study. The study used to be carried out in the admitted patient’s Department of Surgery Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. In Bangladesh for the duration of the period from June 2014 to May 2015. Results: This study shows that the according to age of 80 patients aged 20-above 51 years where, 4(10%) were 20-30 years, 10(25%) were 31-41 years, 10(25%) were 41-50 years, 16(40%) were 51 and above years in Group A, and 6(15%) were 20-30 years, 6(15%) were 31-40 years, 13(32.5%) were 41-50 years and 15(37.5%) were 51 and above years in Group B. And 28(70%) were males and 12(30%) were females in group A. And 27(67.5%) were males and 13(32.5%) were females in group B. Conclusions: Mechanical bowel preparation before elective colon and rectal surgery cannot prevent complications like anastomotic leakage, wound infection, intra-abdominal sepsis, abdominal abscess and extra abdominal complications.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129821921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The responsibility of cannabis in these consumers in the occurrence of psychiatric and neuropsychiatric effects has been demonstrated by researchers for a long time, but in recent decades it has been indexed in the occurrence of somatic events, notably cardiovascular. We will report the case of a young patient aged 29, with no pathological history; hospitalized in the vascular surgery department of the CHU Hassan II for ischemic stroke and acute ischemia of the right upper limb after the consumption of cannabis. The etiological research of these clinical events orients us to direct the responsibility of cannabis whose consumption emerged during the anamnesis in our patient, after the elimination of all possible etiologies that may be responsible for the clinical events. This case highlights the possible involvement of cannabis in the occurrence of stroke and acute ischemia of the limb in a young subject without any cardiovascular risk factors. Note that the responsibility of cannabis in the occurrence of ischemic stroke is well known but its responsibility in the occurrence of acute limb ischemia has not been reported in any literature.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130094989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

She benefited from the placement of a left femoral venous catheter for emergency intensive care; there was the migration of the guide wire during the insertion of the catheter. A control X-ray shows the presence of the guide wire from the inferior vena cava to the right internal jugular vein. Surgery was indicated employing a mini approach to the internal jugular vein to extract the guide.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121033129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally divided into intrinsic and extrinsic arms, the coagulation cascade converges, through the interactions of the many various factors, at a standard element—thrombin. As a consequence, variety of various agents is developed to supplement this common, critical step to assist surgical hemostasis. Intraoperative interventions most ordinarily include sutures and heat-generating cautery devices; however, these methods are sometimes insufficient or inappropriate for a selected procedure or anatomic location, resulting in the event of other adjunctive therapies, including topical hemostats. Topical hemostatic agents generally act as active, passive, and combinations therapies, counting on their individual composition and mode of action. We offer a quick review of the traditional coagulation cascade, including critical points, followed by a discussion of surgical strategies and adjuctive therapies want to achieve surgical hemostasis and concluding with a discussion of topical thrombins.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125577845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such delay in routine; surgical procedures leads to a backlog of patients, including cardiac, planned for surgical interventions. The pandemic has presented healthcare workers with the unprecedented challenge of maintaining patient and personal safety dealing with patients, including surgical ones. The healthcare personnel in general and nurses caring confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infected patients in specific have a high risk of patients and self-safety concerns, especially under peri-operative care where aerosol-producing procedures are key components of care. Herein, we present the peri-operative nursing approach to a SARS CoV-2 infected patient, confirmed with reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (rt-PCR), and remained positive as repeated four times in nearly four weeks, who underwent an essential coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), with specific focus to standard recommendations and protocols. Adherence by nursing staff to these recommended peri-operative protocols will mandate; both patient and nursing safety.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114019374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a frequent pathology and is the most common dislocation in the body. More frequent in young adults with a clear male predominance, which can lead to a socio-professional and sporting handicap. The diagnosis of glenohumeral instability is most often clinical. Standard radiography is sufficient for bone assessment. Arthroscanner and arthro-irm are currently the most effective techniques for confirming the diagnosis, assessing the extent and severity of the lesions, and searching for associated lesions. The treatment is surgical, the LATARJET operation remains the gold standard of treatment of instability of the shoulder. It allows the recovery of joint mobility as well as satisfactory joint stability.","PeriodicalId":446681,"journal":{"name":"EAS Journal of Medicine and Surgery","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122528185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A foreign body (FB) can be lodged in either the upper or lower airway or cause either a partial or complete airway obstruction. Complete obstruction of upper airway is a potentially life-threatening situation that causes severe respiratory distress and suffocation. Lower airway FB typically manifests with sudden-onset coughing and choking, followed by wheezing and dyspnea. We are presenting a case report of 3years old female child with a foreign body in the right bronchus intermediacy over one year. Many regimens are used in the treatment of infertility. Among them, a combination of oral aromatase inhibitor drugs and gonadotropin is recommended as a very effective regimen for inducing ovulation. But there is a scarcity of related data in the Bangladesh context. The present study was designed to compare the effect of letrozole and the combination of letrozole with low-dose intramuscular injection of HMG on ovulation and pregnancy. Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital from June 2020 to May 2021. A total of 95 patients with a history of infertility were selected as the study population according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from each patient.
