These systems are inflexible and have many issues. Therefore, they need to be modernised and migrated into new technological environments to reduce costs and to improve flexibility. Thus, a systematic review is conducted in this paper to consider legacy system modernisation strategies, which range from simple wrapping to full migration. The quality aspects of the migration process need to be considered when selecting a moderation strategy to satisfy the migration requirements. Therefore, this paper proposes the integration of quality into migration processes, which has a considerable impact on cost and risk.","PeriodicalId":446641,"journal":{"name":"2017 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132096073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it puts more pressure on cache management algorithm. Since GPU cores have higher number of threads, most of the LLC space will be dominated by GPU application, leaving limited space for CPU application. Because of this reason, it seriously affects the overall system performance. Aiming at the unfair utilization of GPU and CPU cores for shared cache resource, this paper mainly proposes a novel cache management method: cache partition combined with the adaptive replacement policy. We first split the cache capacity to adjust the ratio of CPU and GPU cores for shared LLC resource and then use adaptive replacement policies for CPU and GPU applications to access LLC. Experimental results show that our scheme can make GPU applications in the case of minimal loss of performance, improve the performance of CPU applications by 16% on average (up to 33%), the overall performance improved by 6 %( up to 19%).","PeriodicalId":446641,"journal":{"name":"2017 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES)","volume":"81 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131321023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following the common pipeline of CNN feature extraction, we mainly design the architecture of feature extraction which exploits the idea of feature pyramid. We further add an extra 1*1 convolution layer to benefit feature extraction, via the batch normalization. In addition, the designed network architecture for feature extraction combines low-resolution and high-resolution feature layers to predict the category of the object in images. The new architecture is trained with the help of batch normalization, mean pooling based on plateau detection. The proposed architecture shows competitive results compared to some state-of-the-art algorithms both in accuracy and in speed on some datasets.","PeriodicalId":446641,"journal":{"name":"2017 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES)","volume":"307 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120942503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, the scheduling policies of virtual machine (VM) migration have been regarded as an effective method for energy conservation. In this paper, we address the problem of VM consolidation in cloud data centers. A power aware scheduling algorithm THR_MUG, which is combined with a utilization threshold strategy and a VM selection policy, is proposed. THR_MUG tries to select the most appropriate VMs for migration each time when a physical machine (PM) is considered as being overloaded, such that the utilization of this PM is just not more than the utilization threshold, such that both the energy consumption and the number of VM migration can be reduced. The experimental results show that compared with other algorithm, the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the number of VM migrations as well as the energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":446641,"journal":{"name":"2017 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES)","volume":"188 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115531498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If ontology was used as the bridge to map between the source and target artifacts, it can help to solve the keyword matching problem regarding the requirement traceability in the semantic level. A domain ontology recommendation method has been proposed. Using this method, the lexical semantic representation list of the dependency syntax types can be produced at first using Stanford Parser. Then, the terms as well as their relations can be extracted using the clear algorithm and rule-based matching algorithm. As follows, these terms and their relations can be transformed into domain concepts and their relations, obtaining the domain ontology recommendation. Finally, the domain ontology that is suitable for the requirement traceability can be gained through the processes of selection and revision by the domain experts. The experimental results demonstrate that if the proposed domain ontology was applied to requirement traceability, it can effectively improve the accuracy of the requirement traceability, compared with the vector space model and the requirement traceability method based on HOWNET.","PeriodicalId":446641,"journal":{"name":"2017 16th International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Applications to Business, Engineering and Science (DCABES)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114163360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
